Rust developer has 'no plans' for Linux or Proton support, says games that support them are 'not serious about anti-cheat'
Doom 64 in Lutris from Epic Games Store source is very slow to go into main menu (probably failed user Epic Online Service failed consent)
Hello. When I press start to go into the main menu the spinning Bethesda logo appears and stays like that for 3 - 4 minutes before going further and this message (even before pressing start) is spammed in Doom 64 console:
Warning: (LogEOS) Error response received from backend. ServiceName=[OAuth], OperationName=[TokenGrant], Url=[<Redacted>], HttpStatus=[400], ErrorCode=[errors.com.epicgames.oauth.scope_consent_required], NumericErrorCode=[58005], ErrorMessage=[The user has not consented to required scopes.], CorrId=[EOS-b2KwXO3XOkaHPte_WvRMeg-D0rqHnwnhE-vbb7wTmHk_w-xVGa0J4RYk-0S9aWKGEaQg]
How could I give consent if that's the case or fix this in any way?
I'm using Void Linux.

Requesting Help on Getting Animal Jam Classic to Run
Summary:
Whenever I run Animal Jam Classic, via wine or wine-ge, it will crash after a second.
It will usually open the window, show a black screen, then a yellow screen, then a black screen, and crash. Sometimes it only gets up to the yellow screen.
With system wine, 2-3 times, I have been able to glimpse what I believe was the login screen before it crashes. I attempted to reproduce this so as to get the logs of this event, but after a few attempts I gave up.
I run both wine & wine-ge using Lutris. I would prefer if I didn't have to use Steam/Proton.
https://pastebin.com/2nZbv6tE - System information and logs. It will expire in a month.
Details:
Some of this is likely superfluous. Sorry! I'm not tech-savvy, and therefore am not completely sure what's relevant. But I want to be thorough.
After downloading AnimalJamInstaller.exe from lb.animaljam.com/en/download, I put it into a preexisting wine prefix of mine (There's another game in there, I don't really care if I break that game, so I just reused the wine prefix). Specifically:
~/Programs/Other-Game Name/.wine-prefix/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Animal Jam/AnimalJamInstaller.exeIn Lutris, I used "add locally installed game" to create an entry for the installer. The above was the Executable Path, and the "Wine prefix" was ~/Programs/Other-Game Name/.wine-prefix. I left Working directory empty. The runner was wine, specifically wine-ge-8-26-x86_64.
So I let that run, and it installed no problem.
Afterwards, I created a new entry for the actual game.
Runner & Wine prefix were the same as above. Starting from the virtual c drive, the Executable was /drive_c/users/meee/AppData/Local/Programs/animal-jam/Animal Jam.exe, and the Working directory was /drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Animal Jam.
As mentioned in the summary, this didn't work. It would open a window, and usually display black, then yellow, then black, and then crash. Sometimes, it would just get up to the yellow before crashing.
After this, I changed the runner to system wine, with all the other information being the same. System wine info below
LC_ALL=C dpkg --list '*wine*' | egrep "^ii|Name|==="LC_ALL=C dpkg --list '*wine*' | egrep "^ii|Name|===" ||/ Name Version Architecture Description +++-===================-==================-============-================================================= ii fonts-wine 9.0~repack-4build3 all Windows API implementation - fonts ii libwine:amd64 9.0~repack-4build3 amd64 Windows API implementation - library ii libwine:i386 9.0~repack-4build3 i386 Windows API implementation - library ii wine 9.0~repack-4build3 all Windows API implementation - standard suite ii wine-desktop-files 5.0.3 all Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer ii wine-installer 5.0.3 all Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer ii wine32:i386 9.0~repack-4build3 i386 Windows API implementation - 32-bit binary loader ii wine64 9.0~repack-4build3 amd64 Windows API implementation - 64-bit binary loaderThe wine configuration was updated, and it ran. The results were more-or-less the same as with wine-ge. However, 2-3 times, I glimpsed what appeared to be the login screen before it crashed. I attempted to see this again so I could get a log of it, but I gave up after a few tries.
I switched the runners back and forth a few times, so the wine configuration got updated a few times.
In Concusion:
PLEASE. ON MY KNEES. PLEASE. HELP ME GET ANIMAL JAM RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!
Or tell me if it's not possible for any reason.
Thank you for your time.

Wine
Hi guys so I am getting my feet wet with different linux flavours, but I heard about something to make gaming easier on linux one is proton by steam and wine. So my question is wine, I heard it took a lot of system resources is that true for 2025? Then the other question is which distro is easier to setup for gaming because I get a lot of errors with Ubuntu desktop?

New Bazzite user: keyboard layout changes aren't taken into account when playing DRG:Survivor
Hi guys, I've newly made the switch to Bazzite on my PC so I'm a bit of a Linux noob, though I know my way about a terminal.
I use colemak by default as my keyboard layout, but often switch to qwerty, usually due to games not having support for colemak and/or no keybinding customisation. However, when playing DRG:Survivor it does not seem to take switching layouts into account and acts as if I'm stuck on colemak. Has anyone had this issue before and found a fix?
On ProtonDB I see people posting tweaks they've made to Proton, but I'm honestly not sure how they're achieving this, nor how they can know what to try - I don't even know if my issue is a Proton issue which is why I've not flaired it as such.
Please feel free to ask me for useful/needed details as I don't really know what might be useful.
Thank you very much in advance to any who try to help me out!

Best way to run World of Tanks
What is the best way to run World of Tanks on CachyOS?
I have weak gaming hardware:
Ryzen 2200G with iGPU.
But since I haven't been an intense gamer for about 10 years, this setup was enough for me to play a few games of WOT per week.
I want to use the SD client, so the Steam version is out of the question. In addition, I need to be able to install Aslain MOD.
Now I have installed the launcher and the game through Lutris with wine-ge-8.26-x86_64 set.
Unfortunately, despite setting everything to low and 40-70 FPS, it can freeze every few seconds.
I tried switching to newer versions of GE-Proton and proton-cachyos, but the game crashes after loading the garage.
I will add that there were no such freezes on Windows, so the hardware was probably fine.

Valve put up a new Steam Linux Runtime 4.0 with a move towards 64-bit
Expedition 33 voice audio issue
I was trying to get expedition 33 working on my PC, and it runs great, but for whatever reason I cannot get the character voice lines to play at a proper volume. I'm running on Fedora 43 KDE, and 9070xt, with an HDMI cord connected to my TV, proton version 9.
Anyone have a similar issue with this game? If so, what settings did you pick to fix it?
