Lutris, Battle.net Launcher stays black, no interaction possible

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 17:53

Issue:
Directly after install, while the launcher goes black, it displays some oddly strechted Blizzards logos. If I do not move the window, I can login, as some elements reappear when if go over the launcher with my mouse. Then I'm able to download/install Diablo 2R RotW and play for hours.
But after closing the game and Battle.net launcher, the next time I start the launcher from within Lutris (or moving the launcher after fresh install), the window stays black and nothing is clickable/visible/movable.

What I did so far:

  • Reinstalled Battle.net several times
  • installed latest Lutris from Flatpak - while the launcher works better, the game (Diable 2 Ressurected) is unplayable
  • Tried to run the game by installing the Exe as non-steam game did fix the launcher issues, but the game is unplayable
  • Visted https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/Battle.Net.md, they write for Black Game screen "Go to options for Battle.Net- disable streaming". But as I can not login I can't turn it off. Although I think this is only for games, not for the launcher.
  • Unlike in this issue here https://github.com/lutris/docs/issues/124 I don't have any of these NVIDIA, Esync, Fsync, FSR, Anti-cheat options Edit: found the options, still nothing changed
  • In configurations for the app > System options > Multi-GPU I tried enabling "Enable NVIDIA Prime Render Offload" and selected in Vulkan ICD loader "Nvidia Proprietary: NVIDA GeForce RTX 2080", but nothing changed.

Lutris Version:
0.5.14 (from APT)

App source:
https://lutris.net/games/battlenet/

System updates:

Up to date

Lutris log:

best linux distro for streaming games and edit videos

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 17:29

Hi so this has probably been asked a thousand times maybe but i just really don't know anymore what is best for me. I am sick of windows cause when i use it longer it just gets worse and now with new bloated stuff and the ceo being a pdf i switched to linux. I used bazzite for a while now which is def not bad but it's so restricting and like using a canon as webcam is already complicated to set up there cause it kept denying access to my own files. So i tried nobara but it is also meh. Now i switched to fedora and somehow broke it cause it doesn't start anymore. So like the title my main question is what is everyone else's experience and if there are content creators who game a lot what do you use?
Thanks for anything in advance :)
(it is fine if i have to download stuff and tinker a bit as long as i find tutorials)

How do protonDB contributors figure out custom launch options ?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 17:05

Every time I check a game on ProtonDB, I see suggested custom launch options. I always wonder: How do people figure these out?

My best guess is that they check the Proton documentation and then experiment through trial and error. Or do game developers ever provide these options themselves?

Side note: I’ve noticed that many of these contributions suggest out-of-date or deprecated options. It makes me wish there was a way to up/downvote these suggestions.

Anyone who knows how to play + mod Genshin, HSR, ZZZ, WuWa and Endfield?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 15:50

What distro and tools do you use? I'm on cachyOS and I've tried:
- Twintail launcher: couldn't get it to work, maybe a clean install would fix it but I'm not so sure.
- Lutris + official launcher worked for WuWa and Endfield, but I couldn't use mods on them, plus some games don't run that way at all. I tried to follow a video guide and ended up bricking the ones that were working as well.
- AAGL and THRL, they worked but no modding support. Don't really care about modding HSR so THRL remains an option.
- I could run ZZZ as a non-steam game, but not the ZZMI launcher.

I'm considering a clean start. What setup do you guys have? Is modding even possible? Should I give up and just play normally?

can't do anything

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 15:32

so, I downloaded Ubuntu and tried to run any game, couldn't, tried to search what to do, had the suggestions to download and update drivers, saw in the drivers terminal of Ubuntu and nothing showed as available (and I updated and downloaded everything when I was first using the OS). Then I installed steam from outside the appstore built-in the OS, I was able to start terraria, but never got out of loading screen and sometimes it crashed in the loading. I already have proton installed, the games I am testing is terraria and cuphead to see if I can run something here.

I am using ubuntu 24 LTS

edit: my hardware isn't compatible with vulkan and that is making my computer unable to use proton as it should, apparently that was the problem

Shortcut issue

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 15:18

I finally decided to move to Linux for gaming but I'm encountering a weird issue with the game Path Of Exile.

When I try so use a spell with the input '2', it doesn't work, only works when I do "Shift+2". It works perfectly fine with all the other numbers. I'm lost!

It's an AZERTY keyboard.

Is it possible to change LOD bias on Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 15:11

on windows you either go NvidiaInspector or Registry Editor (Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > Currentcontrolset > Control > Video > (random numbers folder) > 0000 > New string value named LodAdj and you just change the value from there) but can you somehow do it on linux?

(I'm on AMD / Debian)

Need help withLinux gaming

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 11:36

I'm not a Linux newbie (been using Linux for 5+ years) but I have just recently got a gaming laptop with an Nvidia gpu. Obviously before coming here to ask for help I tried running my games myself via lutris using both proton GE (latest) and system wine.

Here are the problems I'm facing: 1. DLSS just straight up doesn't work. It doesn't even show up on the graphics settings menu of my games. 2. Even without DLSS, windows Non-DLSS performance is still much better than Linux Non-DLSS performance. 3. Ray Tracing performance is straight up so bad it's unplayable, obviously this is not the case in windows so I know my hardware isn't at fault.

So far I've tried setting environment variables in lutris and adding dll overrides but none of those worked. I'm confused as to how to run games properly on Linux since I'm a newbie in terms of Linux gaming.

Games I tried running: Marvel's Spider Man Remastered (2018), Tomb Raider (2013) OS: Arch Linux (straight up arch, not any arch based one) GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6gb vram laptop gpu Drivers: nvidia-open

About the drivers, idk if this is the correct package I need to install, and if it's not, please tell me how to install proper drivers for my laptop gpu.
