My Linux-Native Helicopter Simulator, RotorSim, is now available to wishlist on Steam and will have a demo for NextFest! It's a retro-inpired helicopter game in the style of Maxis' SimCopter.
Friends, we just launched Elroy and the Aliens! Linux supported! Inspired by our favorite adventure games of the 80s and 90s. Fully voiced and packed with plenty of old-school cartoon animation. So excited right now!
Linux Gaming vs Windows 11 on Intel Arc B580 at 1080p and 1440p | EndeavourOS Vs Windows 11
For Linux gamers who play Roblox, I made a masterpiece(s)!
So like one year ago, I wanted to buy some Linux tux accessories for my avatar, but they weren't any, and after UGC program got public on Roblox, I thought I should upload it. Since I didn't have an exact model/texture I had to make ones from scratch, fortunately I found a way to skip the uploading fees :) and uploaded them for free.
TUX MERCH:
SPECIAL FOR ARCH LINUX:

Also, quick question on the other side - Has anybody found a way to play Roblox on Linux after Roblox update, and the sober broke down?

Jagged Alliance 2 v1.13
Hello, I wanted to play the classic JA2 since I never got the chance when I was younger.
I know there is the Straciatella way of playing that works flawlessly, however I did want to check out the 1.13 fanpatch and I do not believe they are compatible.
I tried installing 1.13 via Lutris preconfigured option https://lutris.net/games/jagged-alliance-2/
But the links in this installer do not work, as they link to Jenkins that is not being updated anymore. I did find the necessary files on github (at least I think so). However the game is not starting as it requests a 16bpp color, which, well, my modern OS does not provide I guess? I'm running EndeavourOS.
Did I screw up with the installation and I have just sourced the wrong files? Anybody had luck running JA2 1.13 on Linux?

Linux shoots back up the Steam Survey for March 2025 with Simplified Chinese dropping
How does the native version run WORSE than the Windows version😭?
Not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this. I'm in my 'buy random indie story games people recommend online and play them' era. I have bought a pretty old unpopular game called 'Kona'. To my surprise, this random story game actually has a Linux version.
I ran it and it was stuttering and not smooth at all. I thought something was wrong with my pc until i set compatibility mode with GE proton to force the use of the windows version and voila, smooth as expected from a game made back in 2016.
I'm pretty sure this is because the developers focused on the windows version and didn't optimize the Linux version at all since I have played other games that had a Linux version and ran just fine. Let me know if you have experienced something similar to this.
Btw since I can play game smoothly now I can really recommend it. Great story, not too hard and not too easy to play and it overall has that adventurous and mysterious feeling and look. Was definitely worth the 3$
Feel free to share your thoughts

What should I run?
I love Linux, I use it as my main OS on my laptop and have for years now. It's a Thinkpad T480s. (Of course it is). I just use it for coding, so really just VS Code and Chrome/Firefox. I haven't installed anything else on it.
But now I'm looking into installing it on my main desktop which is where I game, record covers, edit and even stream. I typically code on my laptop but I would like to also do it on my main machine and honestly leave Windows fully if possible. I just don't know many alternatives to programs I might need to use which aren't many.
I have a semi-interesting use case and was wondering what you guys thought.
My specs & equipment are the following:
- Ryzen 7 5700x
- Radeon 7800 XT
- 32GB DDR4 3300Mhz Ram
- Volt 1 audio interface
- Elgato HD60X
Is this feasible? I really only play WoW now, maybe Guild Wars 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds. A few indie games and some Steam Deck verified titles. I would also like to develop games but Godot works fine I believe.
I haven't tried editing on any Linux distro but I do hear people have issues. Is my card supported by Davinci Resolve? What do I need to do to get it working etc. Would I run into issues trying to record my voice using Reaper which is what I use on Windows? and of course, would I run into issues streaming. Any input will help! You can also suggest a distro if you want, I'll try everything I can

Game either silent crashes or just doesn’t load when using bottles
I’ve been using Lutris for the past 2 years and while it didn’t really fall short during that, when I tried to customize certain stuff or run multiple .exe in the same wine prefix everything started to fall apart, and dependencies are a disaster and everyone have been recommending bottles like crazy so I decided to try it.
I installed the WINE GE runner and tried to run a game which kept silently crashing in the background. After a while of testing and reading the docs I realized that I must place my game inside the prefix? And after that the game just launches a small splash screen I’ve never seen before and then just crashes. (Tried with multiple games with similar weird results)
I’m not sure where the issue is and why I can’t seem to use it properly. I’ve tried a ton and it’s such a hassle always copying the game inside the prefix to try out different games, so I was wondering what I may be doing wrong or if there id an extensive guide on how exactly to use it.

Gaming recommendations
Hi all,
In about a month I'll need a new home computer. I play games for entertainment, and I program stuff for fun and work. I'm strongly considering not putting Windows on it this time.
What should I be aware of that might change my mind?
My old machine has a 6700K processor, 32 GB ram and a Nvidia 3080. The latter is the 3rd GPU of the machine.
It still runs windows 10 and Ubuntu latest (updating has worked for the last 10 years).
I will use Ubuntu because I've used it for almost 20 years now.
Please be brutally honest here about the hardware and software limitations. No negative answers here means I won't trust it.

Question Regarding AMD Drivers on Linux
I began using Linux close to two years ago, and I have generally used Nvidia GPUs as my PC had it before I switched, so of course I've used the proprietary Nvidia drivers. I've heard that with AMD you don't need to install drivers as they're baked into the Linux kernel, same for Intel. However I had another system with a Ryzen CPU in it, and I wasn't able to game on it until I installed AMD drivers. Was I simply misinformed, or does the gaming using the CPU require drivers where having a dedicated GPU wouldn't or something?

Anyone else having difficulty hearing voice chats in games?
I have played overwatch and marvel rivals and in both i have difficulty hearing what people say in voicechats. Is this a linux issue? I can hear all other stuff like character's speech clearly and ults but why is it so hard to hear voicechat especially when multiple people are speaking and i end up not understanding what they said because of it?

New PC - Fans running on max rpm using Proton on Arch, but not on Fedora?
Hi everyone,
I'm having a weird issue, that I have no clue how to solve it.
I built a new pc recently:
Mobo: ASUS B850M-Plus Wifi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: AMD RX9070 XT
DE: KDE Plasma
I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam using Proton Experimental and everything is working, but as soon as I open the game (and when I load a save), the fans of my computer ramp up to the max rpm and it gets very loud. In the menu or as soon as I close the game, the fans stop in the same instant.
I tried it on Windows and the fans run in the minimum rpm(almost no sound), then I tried it on Fedora KDE with Proton Experimental and it's the same as Windows.
So I guess it's something missing on Arch that I'm not sure.
I stress tested the computer and temps don't even reach 90C degrees.
I already tried to:
- Install mesa-git (AUR), mesa, linux (6.13.8.arch1-1), linux from testing repo (6.14.arch1-1), vulkan-radeon, lib32-vulkan-radeon, amdvlk, lib32-amdvlk, linux-firmware-git (AUR), power-profiles-daemon
- Check dmseg and journalctl and couldn't find any issues, even with journalctl -f when opening the game
- Fiddle with modules (not sure the correct module for my mobo) (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lm\_sensors#Troubleshooting)
- Setup fancontrol, but I couldn't as my mobo/chipset is not supported by lm-sensors (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fan\_speed\_control)
- CPU governor both in Fedora and Arch are powersaving
- Set the fans profile in the BIOS to "Silent"
I know the components are new, so support is still in its baby steps, but it's weird because it works in Fedora, but not in Arch.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Wrath of the Righteous GOG/ DLC problem
Hey all, I own WotR on GOG with season pass 1 and 2. However when I install it and launch through Heroic Launcher it says "You don't own this scenario yet" when choosing any of the DLC stories. I have checked "install all DLC" under "Modify Installation".

Amazing experience with the 9070 XT so far
My 9070 XT just have this morning and I spent some time after lunch benchmarking it. All of the games were tested at their highest default settings with frame generation turned off. Some games enable FSR by default and I did not disable this, I just wanted to quickly try out some games with benchmarks included. Cyberpunk was tested with both ray tracing on (RTultra) and off (noRT) at ultra settings.
Here are my specs:
bash OS: Fedora Linux 41 (Workstation Edition) x86_64 Host: B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE (Default string-WCP) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X (16) @ 5.68 GHz Memory: 32GB DDR5-6000 Kernel: Linux 6.13.9-200.fc41.x86_64 Mesa: 25.0.2 DE: GNOME 47.5 WM: Mutter (Wayland) I didn't do anything special, just a dnf update before swapping GPUs. Very happy with this upgrade so far (coming from a 6700XT) and just thought I'd share my results for those interested since it has been out for about a month now.

Steelseries GG / Sonar on Linux
Hello! So new to Linux, and I would like to know if there is any way of using the Sonar on Linux?
Mostly to egalize the sound and to control the Discord/Game balance from my headset.
I’ve seen some GitHub stuff about making older Steelseries headset works, but mine is the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and I wonder if it’s even possible to use it on Linux.
So I’m open to alternatives software and method for installing Sonar!
Edit: I’m using Nobara

A few questions
I'm thinking about switching to linux soon, and I want to know if these issues that happen frequently on windows happen on linux too:
1)Running applications in fullscreen rearranging your desktop shortcuts
2)3rd party app Hotkeys not working in some applications For example, ahk/winamp hotkeys not working when playing skyrim.
If there are other similar issues, please let me know.
