I'm getting fed up with Windows, and I'm ready to take the plunge into Linux. I'm looking into Bazzite. Most of the software development work I do is in Notepad++, so I don't see productivity being an issue for me. Everything else I do is through browser tools or have floss alternatives.

I stream console gaming using OBS, and a Blackmagic Internal Capture card. But I'm about to replace it with a Mackie Mainstream, since it handles mixing. video capture and HDMI audio extraction all in one. It's an external unit through, instead of a discreet internal capture card.

I know OBS works in Linux. But what about capture cards? Does anyone have experience with the Mackie Mainstream?

So "Nobara-42-Steam-HTPC" is now my favorite linux distros because of its Steam Deck Mode and Gaming environment and yeah it perform very well,
In this title we achieved 32 fps and it was pretty much playable and i didn't notice any input lag also frametime wasn't that bad!

Posting in this sub due to the fact that my prebuilt has an Nvidia GPU, so looking at distros that include the drivers as part of the install.

I’ve been using Fedora and Nobara for a few years now, and have one or the other on all my personal computers. Just picked up a new 2tb during prime days, and wanting to maybe try something new. I’m not much of a pc gamer, although there are a handful I’ll play on occasion, and they all work on Linux (thank you GE!). I’m aware of Bazzite being a fork of Fedora Atomic/silverblue, but haven’t dipped my toes in immutable OS’s yet. I’ve dabbled with Arch and Cachy a bit, and have gone through the Debian days with Mint and Pop!. Is there maybe one I should try/consider?

Besides the few games I do play, work with CAD software and light coding, so fairly basic PC usage, and more partial to GNOME, although DE makes little difference at all.

i have been trying to download witcher 3 from fitgirl on linux mint cinnamon i have 163 GB of free space. I have tried the app called "bottles" which is wine i think and steam with proton 8-8.5 and proton GE . No matter what i do this error comes up the thing is that everytime i run setup.exe it asks for storage location and set it to the c drive that proton and bottles(or wine whatever) make because the the z drive is always full(only 41 gb in it ig). thanks for even reading this if u did. i have 16gb ram btw if that helps

Hey so i have a 55 inch tv for my bedroom which i among others also use as a discord monitor.

however when used for discord on fedora kde (with wayland) it runs at half the total resolution leading to it looking like shit. Thats due to the display having a 200% scaling, which is necessary for other applications.

Hello, I have my fps capped at 200fps, my computer caps it out without issues for the most parts but sometimes it drops to 90 fps, and it's that 90 fps that feels more like 20 fps (maybe because of screen tearing), and then it comes back to 200fps, it's not a question of team fights or explosions happening, it just drops for no reason. does this happen to anyone else.

I'm trying to setup KDE Neon to replace Windows and I tried installing Minecraft but when I try to open the launcher nothing happens, a small icon bobs up and down for a couple seconds next the the mouse but after that nothing happens. I thought I had everything installed correctly, I downloaded the .deb from Minecraft's website. When I run java -version it says

I have no clue what is causing it and this is the first actual issue I've ran into any ideas on how I can fix this?

Hello guys,

I'm facing some problems while playing The Headliners on Steam. This is the first game that won't run using Steam Play with Proton despite the fact that ProtonDB shows the game as "Platinum"

When I'm launching the game, everything works fine in the main menu. This is only when I'm joining a lobby (whether I'm creating one or joining one) that the game begins to freeze, running at < 2 fps and finally totally stops.

This is what I've tried so far:

• Rebooting
• Checking game files with steam
• Uninstalling/Reinstalling the game
• Switching from automatic Proton to Proton Hotfix, Experimental, 9.0-4, 8.0-5 and 7.0-6 (the last one wouldn't launch the game at all)
• Tried adding "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%" while launching the game as someone on ProtonDB pointed
• Putting all the graphics in game at low
• Switching off anti-aliasing, V-sync etc.
• Switching from Windowed to Full Screen

Nothing worked. Would you guys have any idea ?

I'm considering using Lutris or Bottles but I'd rather stick to Steam.

I've got a Windows partition and the game works perfectly so this doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

Anyway, this is my setup:

I recently installed KDE Neon on my Computer and tried to play PoE today. But all I get are 5 FPS, Hardware shouldn’t be the issue here because on Windows the game runs perfectly. Does anyone have a Solution for this problem?

So I've been on Linux Mint for the past year or so until about a week ago I switched to EndeavourOS, its good and works, but since I am on a hybrid gaming laptop (MSI GF63 Thin with GTX1650 Max Q - Intel i5 gen 10th - 16GB ram) My gaming experience is kinda stuttering and not that good, but back on Linux Mint my gaming proformance was very good, on Insurgency Sandstorm I had solid 60 FPS on high settings but here on EndeavourOS i have 35 FPS on the lowest settings! Before you ask yes I tried other compatability tools but none gave me a boost in FPS.

I really didn't tried gaming on CachyOS so I really dont know how it will preforme on my laptop. But I really love EndeavourOS that i just want to stick with it for the rest of my life, maybe its because i am in love with the Purple color?

TL;DR I want to ask can I fix my bad proformance on my EndeavourOS?

Or

Should I switch to CachyOS?

I use Linux for both work and gaming.

I don't dual boot Windows.

Hey guys :) I’m using nebora fedora Linux with kde plasma and Wayland. I can’t get any Programm to work like parsec and anydesk. Vnc quality is to bad and I can’t see a mouse. Do you have any recommendations?

Edit: rustdesk only have problems, the mouse is everytime in the wrong position:(

Hey, I am running Content Manager for Assetto Corsa through proton. The default font is really ugly and it breaks the ui in some cases. Any way to change the font face and size using something like winetricks? I am using proton GE 10-8.
