I took the 8 pin pcie from the gpu and plugged it into the bc 250 as seen in other videos online but i get no signal on the monitor.

itried to spam the delete key to access the bios, i tried just normal starting.

i tried with two cables one dp to dp and one dp to hdmi on two monitors but same results.

sorry for writing here wasn't knowing where else to ask for advice.

what am i doing wrong or is the card simply broken?

I am on Ubuntu 24.04, I have tried using gamescope, proton-ge and whatever else I have been able to find online to no avail. The game starts and runs(other textures and UI elements are correct), the only issue is this pointer (the size is correct but the quality is off)

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a performance issue with my GPU on Arch Linux while using the niri WM.

Hardware:

• GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
• Monitor: 180Hz refresh rate

The Problem: After watching a video using mpv, the VRAM clock speed gets stuck at its minimum idle frequency. When I close mpv and launch a game, the VRAM frequency fails to ramp up, leading to very poor performance.

Interesting Findings:

• The issue immediately resolves itself if I toggle the screen (e.g., logging out/back in or simply changing the monitor refresh rate in settings). This seems to "reset" the power state.
• It feels like a handshake issue between the driver and the high refresh rate (180Hz) after the GPU exits a video decoding state.

System Info:

• OS: Arch Linux
• WM: niri (Wayland)
• Driver: Mesa/amdgpu

Has anyone seen this "stuck VRAM" behavior specifically on high refresh rate monitors? Are there any known workarounds for amdgpu to prevent it from locking the memory clock after hardware acceleration is used?

When using my Corsair M65 mouse on proton i get erratic scrolling where in menus it struggles to scroll down and springs up again and in games like MGSV the scroll input doesn't work at all unless i scroll out and then in really fast and it works for about 0.2% of a scroll. I'm on KDE Plasma Wayland nobara. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

I am trying to download emudeck on here and I did so successfully and then I did something and I Uninstalled emudeck to start fresh and now this. It wont download at all. I need help. Please how do I fix this? This is the latest version of bazzite on a Xbox ally x. And im not sure what else to say, I used these command prompts to uninstall emudeck.

Basically, when I switched from Windows 11 to Linux Mint, I reinstalled Steam and the games there. And when I run Left 4 Dead 1 for the first time, I was shocked on how smoothly it runs, compared to Windows 11 Left 4 Dead 1 runs slow. I watched tutorials at YT on how to run Left 4 Dead 1 on Windows 11, and all of them don’t work. So I wonder, why is that the case?

Im trying to install a .exe onto a game i have on steam but when using bottles i can't access my steam games. Sense i have the RPMfusion steam installed. Is there a way for me to install a .exe patch onto my steam game without needing to reinstall the more buggy wine version of steam. I do have my games on a seperate drive than my boot drive. I flatpak steam didint work in using that other drive and RPMfuison does so I will really rather keep the ram version on sense it's working fine. And not have to deal with the wine version of steam.

basics..

System:

CPU:

Graphics:

NVIDIA GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti]

Memory

32.8 Gig

Steam, installed from flatpack

Skyrim, Modded was running with minimal issues. decided I wanted to make some changes, new mods. Removed all the old ones. and removed all the old saves.

Now it will start, then crash out to the desktop again. I have changed the compatibility to several different protons, I have removed the compatdata files and restarted the game. I have gone as far as uninstalling and reinstalling Skyrim. Mods no mods. I have changed the settings to windowed or full screen. I have tired changing the graphical settings up and down the settings.

I tried changing the launch settings (Yes Chat gpt helped me go over the error log)

I have disabled the steam overlay, changed the lauch settings to PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nolauncher, and %command% -nolauncher, and even STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/72850 %command%, and in pure despration I even tried SkyrimSE.exe,

This is driving me nuts, It ran mostly ok. a few glitches in the background sure, but it was playable. But now. I get the launcher, then bethesdias name and the games start screen, and then it crashes out..

I have no idea what Im doing wrong here..

Please help...

I have no idea why this is not running.
