Game crashing (only one) : Supervive
Hello !
I play Supervive on Linux Mint and regularly just crash (frozen screen, game not responding), after a while (45min to 1h I'd say).
I'm playing using Proton 10.0-3 (the only version I found that launches the game, GE doesn't run it on my computer). I don't have any error message and the system report doesn't give me anything.
Any idea what could be causing this ?

Controller Suggestions
Hi all, in the process of converting to Linux (I've flipped between Arch and Windows 11 multiple times in tbe last few days) and the one thing I'm struggling to decide on is a controller.
For PC I was was all in on razer, have a Naga Pro mouse, Huntsman Mini keyboard, Tartarus Pro (for WoW) and a Wolverine V3 Pro 8K.
So far on Linux I've decided to ditch razer due to no official support and despite the excellent work of the openrazer folks only 2 of my 4 decides work. So mouse I've gone Keychron M6 8K and K3 Max.
Now I need something to replace my Wolverine V3 Pro 8K controller (I list the full name as there's several varients with different support), as this probably will never get full Linux support. I'm having trouble finding reliable information on what controllers work, I like the look of the GameSir G7 Pro but not sure it works, does anyone know?
If not are the any recommendations? Ideally I'm after something wireless with TMR sticks, microswitch buttons, hall effect triggers and decent rumble.

[PSA] Gamescope is finally fixed on Gnome with the recent 3.16.18 release
Basically what the title says. A lot of people want to use gamescope for some specific features like "super resolution", HDR with working steam input etc. Gamescope has been broken for moths since they switched to the v1 of the official HDR protocol becasue Gnome lacks scRGB support.
No more. Gamescope works again and we gnome gamers have an alternative to Proton Wayland when it comes to HDR (I'd like to play Fires Of Robicon with HDR but it doens't have any sort of native controller input, steam input is a MUST).
Thank you.

Normalize Linux support in games, software and anti-cheats!
As a long-time Linux user, I'm tired of being treated like a second-class citizen in gaming and software. We're 3% of desktop users worldwide - that's millions of people - yet developers consistently ignore us when it comes to native support and anti-cheat compatibility.
I started a petition asking developers and companies to normalize Linux support across games, software, and anti-cheat systems. While Valve's Proton helps Windows games run on Linux, we need native support for real performance and stability. Right now, many of us can't even participate in most competitive gaming because anti-cheat systems don't work with our OS.
It's frustrating watching the tech world advance while we're left behind simply because of our operating system choice. Anyone else feel like 3% of users is too significant to keep ignoring? If you think Linux deserves equal treatment in gaming and software, consider signing and sharing.
I think Linux users deserve just as much support as Windows and other OS's!

Wine 11.0 RC2
the problems are caused by the emergency interruption of the Google Updater function.
Hello everyone, let's first introduce ourselves a little. My name is Yaroslav (not my real name, but you can address me this way).
In short, I can't install programs with the "setup" address on my PC (I don't know, it's probably over 15 years old). For example, when I try to download Steam from the official website, it gives me a file (SteamSetup) in the download folder. When I try to install it, the following happens: the update program opens (there are several files to install), the installation starts, and then after that, the installation finishes, after which everything closes. I've downloaded some information from the computer and found that most of the problems are caused by the emergency interruption of the Google Updater function.

New gaming laptop with FreeDOS
Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a new gaming laptop for christmas which comes with FreeDOS installed.
First of all I want to buy a laptop because I don't stay at home for most of the day, I usually spend much of my time at my gf house, I have a rog ally at home which I use as a desktop because ofc I cant go with the peripherals everywhere(one of the worst purchases I made for the use I give it, but that was what money could buy at my old job).
My question is what distro or operating system should I use, I'll use the laptop mostly for gaming and coding on the go, I never used other OS besides windows and I hear it is pretty bad (or atleast not optimal) for gaming and coding.
So what OS or distro would you recommend?
PC specs:
MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK-086XES
Price ~ 1365€
CPU - Intel Core i7-14650HX 16 cores
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7
RAM - 32 GB DDR5
Internal Memory - SSD NVMe PCIe 4.0 de 1 TB

Thrustmaster Hotas 4 Drivers?
Swapped over to CachyOS (Arch-based) recently, and I'm trying to get my Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 to work. The drivers can be downloaded from the Thrustmaster website, but those are windows-only, and I can't seem to figure out how to get drivers from anywhere else. It's not in the kernel- modprobe usb:044f-b67b gets me an error message telling me that the driver wasn't found at all.
I found one place to get the drivers from, but it has nothing for Arch, only for Ubuntu/Debian and a few other distros. I tried to do it myself with a button remapper, but it didn't detect the joystick twisting at all. Anyone know where I could get the drivers from?

Arc Riders refuses to initialize
Hey guys, complete Linux beginner here.
I am having some trouble running Arc Riders on Steam. After I click "Play", a little window with the game banner, the EasyAntiCheat logo and a loading bar appears (I have no idea what it's called) alongside a blank terminal windows that is running "EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe". Steam says that the game is running. The loading bar progresses a little bit, then both windows are closed and Steam once again shows the "Play" button. This has been happening ever since I downloaded the game, 4 days ago.
Here's some info on my system:
OS: Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon
Linux Kernel: 6.14.0-37-generic
GPU: GTX 1080
GPU Driver: nvidia-driver-535
GPU Driver Version: 535.274.02-0ubuntu0.24.04.2
Proton versions that I have tried running the game on: Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix, Proton 9.0-4
Help would be appreciated!

T500 rs on linux
Hi,
I’ve been trying to get my T500RS working on Linux, but without any success so far. I tried tmdrv and read through the entire GitHub thread about T500RS support, but nothing helped.
Is there anything else I can try to get force feedback working on the T500RS, or am I at the point where I should just consider buying a new wheel?

SteamLess Proton
Switched from Windows to Linux this year after 25 years. Wanted to keep using Epic Games, Battlenet, my heavily modded Skyrim, and well, all my Windows applications without terminal commands, Wine voodoo, or keeping Steam running.
Over this past year I've built and hardened SteamLess Proton - a GUI that uses Proton (Steam's compatibility layer) for any Windows .exe. This tool has been my daily driver for 6+ months.
How it works:
Right-click any .exe → guided setup → done. No Wine, no winetricks, no terminal.
Simply install your applications like you would on windows and run via gui or desktop shortcut~
What makes it different:
- Runs WITHOUT Steam (auto-installs GE-Proton when you install SteamLess app)
- Dual-boot users: optionally automatically syncs your game saves between Windows and Linux
- Sideload mods, patches, DirectX installers or other dependencies directly into your game's prefix via the gui, no winetricks needed.
- Each app gets isolated environments - your modded Skyrim won't break your other games
Tested with: Epic Games, Battlenet, FFXIV, Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, EA App, GOG Galaxy, LOTRO, Blender, heavily modded Skyrim, and many more.
Source-available (full auditable code, no telemetry).

Trying to play Warhammer: Dark Omen from GOG
Hello!
Yesterday this retro game was launched. I used to play it a lot when I was a kid, but I can't make it work on linux. This is what I have tried so far:
I did the installation of the game through Lutris, and I've tried all the proton versions I can think of, Proton-GE, Experimental, wine-ge, you name it. I have also tried activating dgvoodoo2 in various versions as I've read that the one that comes by default with Lutris is not working properly. This far the game launches and plays sound, but video output is completely absent, showing only a black screen.
I'm a bit lost with this at the moment. Normally what happens with proton and old games is that they just work, but I can't make this work by any means.

Linux on gigabyte A16 Pro?
Hello there! I'm looking at wirecutters review for the gigabyte gaming laptop, A16 Pro. Specifically, I use Linux all the time, and would prefer this over windows 11, but I don't know if this gaming laptop is supported well. Are there other suggestions for a Linux gaming laptop? I would love to run local LLM, and have a laptop that would be a joy to use regularly. I would prefer hardware similarly to what I can find on the gigabyte A16 with a fast GPU and memory.
