I recently bought a Dualsense controller, how do I know what its battery life is?

15. Juni 2025 - 16:29

I recently bought a Dualsense controller with a good discount, for playing my games on my PC Desktop. My OS is OpenSuse Tumbleweed.

I can't find out how to know what the battery life left is. I googled and still could not find it. Maybe I used the wrong words in the search bar? I don't know.

Also: If anybody can tell me how I can turn of vibration and the LED lights to save battery time, I would appreciate big time.

Thanks in advance.

Modding games?

15. Juni 2025 - 16:24

I finally chucked windows and have Linux mint. There seem to be so many different options when it comes to gaming then when I played around with it in the past that I feel a bit overwhelmed. I got steam and heroic put on then someone said I should try Lutris and that program freaked me out (no clue what I was doing) but seems to be working so I guess Linux did something right. Now I’m wondering if there is a way without exploding my brain that I can mod my games.

Ubisoft Connect broken as of recently?

15. Juni 2025 - 16:20

Hi there,

for a couple weeks or months I've been playing ANNO 1800 (Ubisoft edition, so Ubisoft connect required, but no steam required, as opposed to the steam edition that requires both) through Lutris successfully. I've been using this anno 1800 lutris config for that purpose: https://lutris.net/games/anno-1800/

I was gone for a couple days and now as of this weekend, I can no longer launch the game - I assume there was a recent silent update to the launcher? The Ubisoft Connect launcher already seems to struggle to load up, but now I can only occasionally make it into the game, and when I do, the main menu is so extremely choppy that I cannot possibly load my saved game.

Does anyone else have a similar experience with any Ubisoft titles recently? Any suggestions what I could try? Or do I have to wait it out, until people more clever than me submit fixed either to Ubisoft Connect (as Ubi employees) or to wine/proton/lutris/whatever would be doing the magic here? Cheers!

Crashing after splash screens in Amnesia: The Bunker

15. Juni 2025 - 15:47

As title says, game launches absolutely fine but as soon as it passes the splash screens and gets to the title menu with all the options, the game immediately crashes to desktop.

I've checked ProtonDB and nobody else seems to have this issue, although I'm using Arch with the latest Mesa and kernels so perhaps this is a regression of some kind? I've already submitted my report on ProtonDB.

I've tried using different versions of Proton such as GE 10-4, 9-27, the latest 9.0 version and some of the older vanilla Proton versions to no avail. Also tried -vulkan, and turning off fsync and esync in the launch options, again, no dice.

Is anybody else encountering this?
