As the title says, I'm trying to find a way to remote into my linux machine to play minecraft as it runs like garbage on my other machines.

The only issue is my linux machine is a server that is not plugged into any displays so i've been using chrome remote desktop with cinnamon this whole time but that is super laggy and minecraft has cursor issues so it doesn't work.

I've tried changing the Nvidia drivers but it just causes more problems. I've only been using Ubuntu for my gaming PC for a few months. Why does it take so long to open the game?

My computer has RST, so Ubuntu is out of the question.

At least with Fedora, I can install it from a USB drive to an external SSD. Then I tried to install Nvidia driver, after reboot, the whole OS corrupt because something MOK/secure boot related. Why does a simple driver installation require you to go to BIOS, copy key and do all the janky shit.

Is there a simpler way to install Nvidia driver? Or is there a linux distro that have easy Nvidia driver installation like Ubuntu but without the whole RST shenanigan?

Anyone else getting this? how do i fix it?

I want to upgrade my system, with either a 5700X3D with a 7800xt or go balls to the wall and upgrade to AM5 with a 9800X3D, but with a cheaper GPU, what would be the best decision here?

I Had this problem on bazzite and now on endevour os, which are both kde.

Emulators like PCSX2, RPCS3 and ShadPS4 dont have toolbar required for installing firmware, global settings etc. is there a way to fix it?

I tried to install a game with a specific local language on Lutris, but when I launch a game, the language is not chosen as I installed it. Also there is no game option to change a language

I’m playing MH wilds beta on my Bazzite OS via proton hotfix. Graphics is ok when not using FSR or frame gen. I had a great time playing on linux!

However, i cannot get vibration working with my usb wired dualsense controller. Adaptive triggers does work on map zoom in/out bizarrely.

Anyone meets the same issue? Any fixes maybe?

Hello im trying to download minecraft in my laptop it runs with linux ubuntu 20.04 I download the Minecraft launcher but whenever I try to run Java edition Minecraft I get this error (glfw error 65543: glx: failed to create context: glxbadfbconfig. please make sure you have up-to-date drivers (see aka.ms/mcdriver for instructions) can someone help me do I need to like download java code or smth I just got ubuntu a few days ago😢

I've been trying to play the Witcher 2 again recently and I've installed the Steam Linux version of the game. However after I enter a larger area the game either crashes or gives an error message saying that its used up almost 4gb of ram and that any more and it will crash. The game runs very smoothly the entire time right up until the point that it does crash.
I'm currently using ubuntu 22.04. Has anyone else encountered this issue before? If so what did you do to fix it?

per motivi di spazio ho dovuto spostare dei giochi (football manager 2022 e Age of Empire DE) dalla home a un altro hard disk (ho 3 hard disk, tutti NVME) tramite le impostazioni di steam.
purtroppo però, dopo questa operazione nessuno dei giochi spostati si avvia: clicco su "gioca", non sembra succedere nulla e dopo qualche secondo il tasto "Gioca" ritorna verde e cliccabile. nessun messaggio di errore, o almeno, nessuno visibile, non so se c'è un log.

Hi, so I got the Rashade port of CRT Royale to work with VkBasalt using andersstorhaug's fork but now I don't know how to configure it. I don't understand if i have to edit the .fxh files themselves or if I can do this with a conf file since I can't find anything on the internet. Hopefully someone has some experience with it, I am mainly looking to remove the vignette and chromatic aberration. Any help is appreciated!

Sorry for the bad image quality, but was pressed for time. Clean Windows 11 24H2 install, debloated and with Core Isolation off. My linux run was with alot of applications running as well.

Ultra preset, but with Upscaling and AA off. Render distance and sand/snow on highest.

Im using ubuntu 24.04 lts and the problem is that my 24 and 27 monitors dont really look right (like u can see in the picture)

The 27 one is a samsung g50d on qhd and the 24 one is an acer cb241h on fhd.

I've been trying several versions of Wine/Proton in the Flatpak version of Lutris to try and pin down a problem with Myst Remake 2021 (version 2.0.6.) In this game, the intro video and book video's don't play when using the default Lutris Wine runner, which is wine-ge-8.26.

Getting the video's in this game to run was a bit of a mess because of having to trial and error lots of Wine/Proton versions. I have tried these, with the following results:

• works = game works as expected
• fail = intro movie and book movie don't play
• slow = game runs at less than 10 FPS

Installed by Lutris Flatpak by default:

• System Wine 9.0: fail
• wine-ge-8.26: fail
• UMU-latest: fail, slow
• UMU-Proton-9.0-beta16: fail, slow
• GE-Proton (version?): works

Tried these myself through ProtonUp-QT:

• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-8.21-amd64: fail
• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-9.0-amd64: fail
• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-9.17-amd64: fail
• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-9.18-amd64: fail
• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-9.22-amd64: works
• cron4eks-vanilla-wine-10.0-amd64: works
• wine-proton-9.0-4: fail (probably Wine before 9.19 or 9.20?)

This game relies on the Windows Media Foundation libraries and in my research I found that Wine 9.18 implemented a new backend for this: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/09/wine-918-brings-a-new-media-foundation-backend-using-ffmpeg/

Wine 9.17 doesn't play the intro video; Wine 9.18 doesn't either, but Wine 9.22 does. Wine 10.0 also does. So it seems somewhere after Wine 9.18 something changed that makes these video's play.

Does this mean that GE-Proton has some of the later Wine versions? It just says "Wine 9.0" in the configuration dialog box.

I would like to try out the new UMU-launcher, but don't know how I can run it. UMU-latest and UMU-Proton-9.0-beta16 don't work: they run the game at less than 10 FPS, as if graphical acceleration is not available. I've been unable to find a clear explanation on how to get UMU installed under Lutris (especially, in the Flatpak version). Does anyone have a link on how to accomplish this? There's no UMU version available in ProtonUp-QT (yet).

Because the UMU-launcher github page says that wine-ge-8.26 will probably be the last "official Lutris-version of Wine" and all the launchers such as Lutris, Bottles, Heroic, etc will move to UMU, I'd like to try it.
