Winetricks d3dcompiler_43 installation error
I'm trying to install three DLLs through winetricks (d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47, and d3d11_43). I got this error every time I've tried installing it. I'm fairly new to linux so it could just be me not understanding something.
The steps I took just in case it's needed:
Default wine prefix
Install dll
Selected the dlls mentioned earlier
Got the SHA256 mismatch error (2nd picture)
Got the Note command cabextract error (1st picture)
I've tried reinstalling wine, winetricks, and protontricks but none of that fixed the issue. I'm using EndeavourOS. Is it a wow64 problem?

Flickering on higher refresh rate
hi everyone, i have this weird issue where when im playing games and im moving around and stuff, the screen has a flickering problem. the flicker also "moves" from the top of the screen to the bottom, and then starts back at the top. it looks a bit like on those old timey tvs and monitors, just not quite as extreme. this is specifically on 60hz. when i go to my settings and change the refresh rate to 74.97hz, the flickering gets much much worse. but! i can also change it to 59.94hz, and then it goes away. of course i WOULD like to enjoy the higher refresh rate, if it wouldn't cause such an issue.
so my question is, what could cause this weird behavior?
(i do have an nvidia gpu, regrettably. if that is the cause or maybe theres some settings to fix)

Fixing Black Screen on Wake & systemd-remount-fs errors on ASUS G16 (2024) / RTX 40-series (Bazzite/Atomic)
How much longer do we think the NVIDIA 20 Series will be supported?
Right now I'm kinda scared the 20 series is next on the NVIDIA chopping block for drivers, especially considering the fact that I'm sporting a GTX 2070. I heard that support for the 10 series has been spotty ever since NVIDIA dropped support for their drivers, so I'm kinda just in fear of what's gonna come in say, a year or so.

Potential workaround for HDMI 2.1 on AMD
I figure most of us on this sub are well aware of the current AMDGPU HDMI limitations. I’ve been trying to research HDMI drivers a let more recently, and I found something interesting that I don’t fully understand. Within the open-source intel i915 driver, HDMI 2.1 was possible on select ARC GPUs that had DP to HDMI protocol converters built in to the GPU (like those external DP to HDMI dongles, just built into the GPU). What I’m confused about, is that a few years back, the i915 developers allegedly added NATIVE FRL support into the fully open-source driver (linked below). FRL is the HDMI 2.1 technology that allows for the much higher 48Gbps bandwidth compared to 2.0. My question is: given that AMD GPUs have the hardware necessary for HDMI 2.1 and are only being capped by the lack of driver support, would it be possible to somehow implement FRL into the AMDGPU driver to unlock the 48Gbps bandwidth?
Disclaimer: this is PURELY speculative, I know very little about driver and display signaling technology
