Switching dedicated graphics card

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 14:21

I have ASUS TUF DASH F15 and fedora. Is there an option to easily turn off/on nvidia card without rebooting like in Armoury Crate on Windows? First of all, I would like Nvidia to turn off when running on battery power, because it significantly reduces battery life, but I would also like it to be possible to wake it up quickly, e.g. when I need to connect to a monitor for a moment to show something.

Should I switch to a 9070XT

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 14:17

hello everyone,

With Windows 11 getting worse and worse I recently switched to cachyOS. I was wondering has anyone noticed a significant different between a 50 70 TI and a 9070 XT.

Would you all recommend switching to AMD for better compatibility?

Mouse behaves differently after update

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 13:47

After a system update and a reboot yesterday my mouse and scrollwheel feel noticeably different. My mouse feels faster and has less acceleration or feels less "smooth". My scrollwheel now has much smaller steps , which is cool for webbrowsing because I can now smoothly scroll websites without steps, but sucks for gaming. When switching weapons in Counter Strike it scrolls through every weapon twice with just one down scroll.

I have a logitech G502X lighspeed. Could it maybe also be a change in Solaar?

Issues with cs2 really low fps

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 13:27

Hey

lately I witnessed some crazy low fps on my game. I cannot really tell since when but there were multiple updates for cs2 recently and with the last system update I saw new NVIDIA/nvidia-lts drivers installed.

I have now between 90(!)-140 fps where before and also on windows I was above 350 most of the time

It doesn’t really matter if I change the resolution etc gives maybe 30-50 fps more but still dips below my monitors hz which is 165

When I checked the cpus don’t go over ~35% capacity

What’s also strange is that when I play with bots I have 300 and when I play duels map from cyberchoke I have 450 fps but arms race, casual, deathmatch it’s 150 max again

I haven’t configured anything so far

Someone else experienced something similar? Any tips what to look out for?

Thank you in advance

Issue with Total War Pharaoh - FPS varying in parts of the game.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 13:01

Hi everyone,

Campaign map on Ultra Settings, with minimal 60 FPS.

Now in Battle, with lowest settings, with max 6 FPS.

I'm facing some curious issues when trying to play Pharaoh Total War with my Fedora 43 Workstation set up.

When I'm on the campaign/strategic map of the game, I can run everything on Ultra, with no drop on FPS and no issues at all - however, when I try to go to a battle, I can't get past 15 FPS (in siege battle, tops is 6-10 FPS), even on the lowest graphic settings, which makes the game unplayable.

Which seems bizarre, as I can play most of my other games (Frostpunk 2, the Alters, Jurassic World Evolution 2) with no issues whatsoever, playing on very high/ultra settings.

This is happening on my Acer Nitro V15 laptop, with some relatively good specs: RTX 5060 gpu with an i5-13420h and 32gb RAM DDR4, running on Wayland protocol and Nvidia driver 580.119.02.

Any thougts on why this is happening?
Thanks!

Is it possible to access Windows Steam game library through Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 12:38

Hi. I'm dual-booting Windows 11 and Bazzite KDE.

I have only gave 60GB to Bazzite for testing to see how it runs on my hardware.

I'm wondering if it's possible to access steam games downloaded on Windows through Bazzite, as Linux doesn't support NFTS.

Is it possible?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17. Februar 2026 - 12:29

For context my system has na i5-1135G7 with the integrated Iris Xe Graphics and 12GB of RAM, it runs all the titles I want decently well, and I found the optiscaler that translates from an upscale method to another and I would like to know if it is possible or even recommended to use it with an integrated graphics
