How to run Act of War Direct Action & Act of War High Treason

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12. November 2024 - 07:46

Hello. I installed my favorite strategy titles "Act of War Direct Action" & "Act of War High Treason" on my Linux Mint system via Steam but I can't managed to run them properly. I tried to run under proton 4,5,6,7,8,9 and experimental and also GE-Proton 7-41, 7-55 & 8-26 but they don't work properly. Is there anybody out there to managed to run these games on Linux? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

So, what are you guys playing now that Apex Legends has been cut?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12. November 2024 - 07:06

I just found out about this today, but EA has pulled support for Apex Legends on Linux because they think it'll cut cheaters out of the game 💀💀💀

I know I'm a little late to the party, so I'm sure this matter has already been discussed to death by everyone else, but Apex and Minecraft are literally the only two games I have installed and played every once in a while, and it looks like my library just got cut in half, so I need something else to play. I thought about checking out Counter Strike 2, but apparently that game turned out to be a flop, so I'm just gonna leave that as a "maybe" for now.

As you can see, I prefer (preferred?) to have a peaceful building game and an exciting shooter game, so do we have anything that could fill in for Apex, or what else are you guys playing? I heard the Halo Master Chief Collection works pretty good for us, but is that just for the single player campaigns, or does that include multi-player as well?

Low Latency Mode/Reflex? I couldn't find anything in the FAQ and am receiving mixed results on Google. Help, please!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12. November 2024 - 01:13

Hello there! Just a real quick and simple question: On windows, I can open the NVCP and force enable ultra under "low latency". This is a life saver in games like Terraria where the mouse feels like it's being dragged through mud without the setting. But, the game does not natively support the setting, and thus the need for the control panel. Does Reflex/Ultra Low Latency exist inside of Linux? And, if so, is there a way to hard force it for games that can benefit but don't have the setting in a menu somewhere?

It is the only thing keeping me from going full Linux. VRR and Gsync are already supported, I know that, so if this one settings works out...

Anyone have any experience with the XAC on Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11. November 2024 - 23:04

Hello I was born disabled and I’m looking into getting an Xbox adaptive controller to play some games I’ve never been able to play.

I read that Microsoft were working on getting support for the XAC into the kernel a few years ago however I’ve not seen whether or not this was completed and the only thing more recent that I have seen is a reference to a GitHub repository.

Does anyone have any more information or some experience with it working?

Jedi Fallen Order

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11. November 2024 - 22:28

Bonjour,

Having seen the last post about Steam Compatdata

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11. November 2024 - 21:15

Is it feasible for steam to add all games that use a certain launcher i.e, EA or Ubisoft, to implement a way for those games to use the same prefix? Say when you launch in steam and don't specify a specific proton to use, they could all be clumped into the same prefix?
