Warcraft and Radeon 9060 XT

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 11:29

I recently installed a Radeon 9060 xt and since Fedora 43 updates to latest mess drivers my framerates randomly drop in half. Sometimes minimising and returning clears it.

This is retail wow I see this in. Not changed any settings.

I'm getting 45 FPS in dungeons where I normally get 70 plus.

Btop indicates card is only 30% in use. Doesn't vary much.

Any ideas?

How do I open Persona 4 on Linux? (mint)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 11:15

For the past day I've been following many tutorials on how to open the game, I've Installed the most recent driver updates, I installed some version of proton, no one worked, and tried Protontricks, except it said that I needed to open the game at least once but the game doesn't even launch.

I don't know if this implies to all the other games that don't have a Linux version, because I'm new to Linux, but still, if you need to ask me anything, I'll reach out as soon as I can.

New to Linux and playing on Xbox Controller feels a bit "off" compared to my Windows. Have I missed some settings?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 10:46

I’m playing Arc Raiders and aiming feels noticeably less smooth on my Linux install compared to Windows.

Setup:

  • Fedora 43
  • KDE Plasma (Wayland)
  • NVIDIA GPU
  • Official Xbox Wireless Adapter + Xbox controller
  • Same in-game controller settings as on Windows

I can't tell if there is any difference in FPS, but stick aiming feels different/less smooth.

Could I have missed some Steam, in-game or Linux settings?

QEMU vs DX11 games

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 10:03

Has anyone tried Windows 10 + DX11 games? I'm willing to use that instead of wine since it's 64-bit lib is still immature.

Weird fullscreen bug in Fallout 3 with 1.7.0.3 patched EXE.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 09:53

So, I'm getting into Fallout 3 at request from my older brother. I downloaded the game on Steam and used the Fallout Anniversary Patcher to patch the EXE.

What's that done is that as soon as the Please Stand By slide loads, the game stops being full screen and kicks me back into my desktop environment (I use Linux Mint if it helps), but the game is still technically playing. I can't see the game and my mouse is locked. I have to use Alt+Tab to go back into the game (which brings the audio back but not the video), and Alt+F4 out of the game.

So... What do I even do? I tried windowed mode, but that runs very poorly on my hardware. It's either fullscreen or nothing.

[Cyberpunk 2077] Audioware mod causing game hangs

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 09:11

If anyone is into modding Cyberpunk, then this will help you a lot!

I've been experiencing this issue since like the past 1 year. I have about 390 mods and when i launch the game it just hangs at 1.8 or less gigs of ram. The game still launches but it takes several relaunches to finally cross the 2.0 gigs of RAM mark and launch the damn game.

If you are experiencing such issue, atleast from my ~390 mods, Audioware was causing it. Hope this helps!

Poor Performance in Path of Exile

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 09:05

Hey all, I recently switched from windows to Linux, tried bazzite, moved to Nobara, finally settled on CachyOS, been really enjoying it compared to windows, the only issue is my favourite 2 games , path of exile 1 and path of exile 2, seem to perform quite a bit worse, fps seems to be roughly the same although it drops a lot harder when there’s a lot going on in the games. But also lower fps feels a lot worse on Linux than it did on windows, like 100fps on windows feels like 100fps, how ever on Linux 100fps feels like 60 or worse. And when I’ve had drops down to 60fps on Linux (which I never got on windows) it feels like 10fps, I’ve tried playing with free sync and adaptive sync as well as without (didn’t change anything) other games such as Minecraft I actually gained like 50fps and feel way more stable, so really annoyed this is happening to my 2 most played games, it’s almost bad enough to the point where I’m going to switch back to windows purely because of it, which I really don’t want to do because I’m loveing Linux, if anyone has any advice or experienced anything the same please let me know, am getting desperate.

Civ VI not detecting GPU

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 08:54

Hey y'all, I've searched this issue and the fixes I've found haven't worked for me so far. I'm running Civ VI on Mint via Proton. I've tried Proton 9, 10, Experimental, and Hotfix, none have corrected this issue. In "Graphics", only the Intel dedicated graphics is found, and not my Geforce RTX 2060. This is a Razer laptop. Any other ideas I can try?

pre installed and out of box ready distros?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 07:51

hello,

im looking for a linux distro that is oriented to preinstalled things with minimal setup for almost everything. i use my pc for gaming (xbox controller, steam/emulators), emailing, listening to music, watching movies/series and daily stuff without use of any specific programs. i work a lot and i dont have really a time or some knowledge, so i would like to switch to something that's ready out of box if possible.

drop me your suggestions and thank you for understanding

Efootball black screen

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 07:37

Has no one tried to fix the fact that after starting eFootball for the first time, you always get a black screen the following times? The only thing that can be done Closing and reopening the game until it works seems really strange to me; it's something that's been happening for a long time.

Check your /root directory permissions

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 07. Februar 2026 - 05:40

A minor permission issue we found and reported to CachyOS. The fix is in the installer so I recommend people chmod their /root directory to be 750 or 700.
