Cyberpunk 2077 crash on Launch
Hello! I've started experiencing startup crashes for Cyberpunk today, the game was fine around 2 days ago so I want to ask, is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Here are my specs if necessary (the game usually runs well) Ryzen 5 5600X Rx 6800 32GB DDR4 3600Mhz RAM and my OS and Kernel is Arch Linux 6.16.8-2-cachyos
any replay is appreciated, even if just a simple "no" or "yes" whether or not it's just my issue
EDIT: Forgot to mention my proton, it is GE-Proton10-17

Any guides on lutris and bottles?
As title. I've Been gaming on Linux for around 4 years now and have never used either of these yet I hear them mentioned all the time. I usually just add non steamgame to library, change proton to experimental and boom. Most games just work. Then proton tricks for missing bits some require. However I see a lot of posts about these other ways and feel like I should know at this point. Starting to feel like I've got imposter syndrome

Trying to figure out if this is coming from my setup or just the game being broken. Anyone else seen this before?
How to play Farcry in multiplayer?
I'm trying to play Far Cry 5 in multiplayer with a friend, but when I launch Far Cry with Lutris, I can't open the Ubisoft Connect shortcut. An explanation or a way to activate it would be helpful, thank you!

Getting visual bug when cutscenes play in Hollow Knight Silksong
I'm on arch and i use hyprland and never had a problem until coming back from a vacation and updating the entire system, I've been getting visual bugs like these when ANY cutscene in the game plays on top of the game itself, i tried to launch the game with different versions of proton and even native, i tried to add other mediaplayers through protontricks and i tried to force the rendering through Launch options in steam (PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%) but nothing is solving it, has anyone experienced the same problem and knows of any solution?

GOG celebrates 17th anniversary with a big sale and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 released
Icarus unplayable on R5 5600 and RX 7600(Ubuntu 24.04)
I was recently gifted a copy of icarus on steam, and on medium the game is absolutely unplayable at 5 fps, not 15, not 25, plain 5 fps. lowering the settings to the max possible, including the vram textures thing to 2000 MB, and FSR performance, i get 25-ish fps.
My computer has 32GB of ram at 3200MT/s and the game is installed on an nvme ssd. SAM is enabled on my motherboard, and i'm using proton experimental(using proton beta and proton hotfix, and the latest proton stable make no difference)
Anyone else with similar hardware experiencing similar behaviour from icarus?
Any idea what's going on?
even with the settings at the lowest possible, VRAM usage exceeds the 8GB of the RX 7600. There's no VRAM usage difference between high settings and lowest possible settings at 9.5GB, using 1.5GB of system memory as part of the video memory pool. restarting the game, restarting the computer, all does nothing to help upon changing settings.
Thank you
edit: this is at 1920x1200 resolution

Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra stuck on endless Loading screen on Linux Mint (GTX 950M + Intel HD 520)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying for days to get Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra running on Linux Mint through Steam/Proton, but after I hit Play it just stays stuck on the Loading screen forever (it keeps spinning/loading, doesn’t actually freeze).
My setup:
- Linux Mint (latest updates)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M + Intel HD Graphics 520 (Optimus laptop)
- Vulkan installed, both GPUs detected by vulkaninfo
- Proton 9.0-4 installed
What I’ve already tried (following AI help and online guides):
- Tested multiple Proton versions (including Experimental)
- Launched Steam with __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia steam to force NVIDIA GPU
- Deleted the game’s compatdata folder to rebuild a fresh Proton prefix
- Installed 32-bit Vulkan libraries (libvulkan1:i386, mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386)
- Looked for Proton-GE in Steam but it’s not showing up (probably not installed yet)
- Restarted the game several times and waited longer in case it was shader compilation
Despite all this, the game never goes past the Loading… screen.

Looking for a Linux controller, considering Flydigi Vader 4 Pro
I currently have a Bigbigwon Gale Hall, but unfortunately, I can only use it for control — I have no idea why rumble/vibration doesn't work. I've tried both CachyOS and Bazzite, but it's still hopeless.
I'm considering getting a Flydigi Vader 4 Pro. Will it be fully functional on Linux?

Most of the time i playe at the PC but sometimes i want to play in the livingroom but i cant get my controllers to connect to the livingroom dongle. do i have to pair it with that one again or is two dongles just a bad idea in general?

How is the state of Linux gaming using Arc B580?
I installed cachyos but I haven't touch my installation (I dual-booted with Windows) for awhile due to graphical glitches when using gnome and getting a lower performance in the witcher 3. I heard there was already an update towards mesa and wanna know whether it's still wonky or not

Borderlands 2
Hello,
Has anyone gotten BL2 to not be a complete nightmare on Linux? I'm not new to Linux Gaming having some arduous setup requirements to get going as desired, but everything I do for Borderlands does not seem to help. No matter what, this game CONSTANTLY gets Out of Video Memory errors.
PhysX is set to low [RTX 50xx card anyways, so it wouldn't be supported regardless]
UHD Texture DLC installed/uninstalled
Proton in use since the Linux version is craop
I have tried different combinations of the following launch args: PYOPENGL_PLATFORM=nt PROTON_USE_DXVK=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=NVIDIA
I have also tried setting this in dxvk.conf: d3d9.evictManagedOnUnlock = True, as well as a few other variables... 90% of which causing an instant crash.
UHD is usually the one having the finger pointed to it, but without it installed it doesn't allow windows multiplayer people to join. Not to mention that it doesn't work either way, still kills when loading into Sanctuary with OOM.
I'm just absolutely losing my mind. Please, does anyone have any experience getting BL2 to run without constant OOM errors?
Distro, Arch. Kernel, linux-zen. CPU, Intel i7-14700K. GPU, RTX 5070. Driver, nvidia-open-dkms 580.82.09. RAM, 128GB. Proton Version, Experimental.
