After developing this entirely on linux for over a year, I finally released the demo for my automation-roguelike fusion!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 16:38

Play the Demo

Hi everyone! I’m a solo dev working on a passion project called Vena. It started as a small idea for a game jam (which it actually won!), and I’ve been polishing it into a full release ever since.

The game is a weird but satisfying mix of Factorio-style automation and roguelike deckbuilding. You place hexagonal tiles to build resource networks that feed a central Nexus, but you have to draft your "factory parts" using a dice-rolling shop system between rounds.

I’m really trying to nail that "flow state" feeling where everything just clicks. I’ve just released a demo on Steam and would love to hear what you think about the balance.

Dealve, a native Linux TUI to browse game deals from your terminal (Rust)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 16:28

I built Dealve, a terminal UI app that lets you browse game deals across Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, Epic Games and more, all from your terminal, no browser needed.

It runs natively on Linux (also macOS and Windows), written in Rust with zero system dependencies beyond a terminal.

Features:

  • Browse current deals from 20+ stores
  • Search for the most popular games, the cheapest games, or other
  • Price history charts right in the terminal
  • Data comes from IsThereAnyDeal (free API key, takes 30 seconds)

Install:

cargo install dealve-tui

Then just type dealve.

⭐ GitHub: https://github.com/kurama/dealve-tui

If you're on a tiling WM setup and want to check deals without opening a browser, this might be for you. Feedback and contributions welcome!!! :D

Struggling with Xbox Wireless Controller

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 15:40

I'm struggling really hard with playing games on Linux because I can't make it work with my Xbox Wireless Controller over Bluetooth. And it's that way on both Ubuntu and Bazzite. Did anyone encounter this and how did you solve it if you did?

P.S. it works using wired connection but obviously that's a workaround, not a solution

Enabling frame generation causes every game to crash on AMD 7700XT

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 15:39

GPU: AMD RX 7700XT w/ 12GB VRAM

GPU driver: Mesa 25.3.3-arch1.1

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X

RAM: 32GB DDR4

Storage: SSD

OS: Omarchy (Arch)

Kernel: 6.18.3-arch1-1

Basically the title. I am able to use FSS 3.1 in any game, but if I enable FSS 3.1 frame generation, the game instantly crashes, giving me a fatal error with some codes. This has happened with Cyberpunk and Nioh 3 recently. The version of Proton I use doesn't seem to matter whether it is Valve, GE, or CachyOS.

Has anyone else ever been able to get frame generation working on Linux with this card or a similar card?

Fedora kde lutris vs Win 11 performance

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 15:04

Recently switched my desktop from Windows 11 to fedora kde plazma. I don't play much, World of Tanks, and cities skylines 2. Current setup is i3 10100, 16 GB DDR4, A2000 6gb. On Win11, i had solid performance in CS2, 1440p, tweaked settings, town of 40k, it run pretty smooth.
In Fedora, via Lutrisawfully, it runs awfull, or doesn't run at all.
World of Tanks can run, and its ok, but cs2 in half time wont even start, the process is killed because it takes too much memory, or after some time I can enter the main menu, but the game crashes when i start the map, even an empty one.

I know CS2 is cpu bound a lot, but performance is really bad.

[support request} moving pirated doom 2016 saves to legit copy

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 14:52

distro: ubuntu 24.04

kernel: 6.14.0-37-generic

de: gnome 46 wayland

proton version used (for both) is proton 7.0-6, both are being launched with steam, cracked copy is from fitgirl repacks (latest one)

i pirated doom 2016 from fitgirl repacks and played it a bit, then bought it on steam and used this reddit comment to convert the crack into a legit copy, but i cant get my saves from the crack to load on the legit copy

both games are installed on an ntfs drive so i used the symlink method (symlinking compatdata to a directory that isnt ntfs, in my case ext4) to fix proton not working

i tried to copy my saves from ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3522252278/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games (where the cracked copy saved it's saves) to~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/379720/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games and `~/drvE-steam-compatdata/379720/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games` (`drvE-steam-compatdata` being the folder i made for the symlinking solution mentioned above) (one of the latter two is the legit game's save folder, not sure which) to no avail

cracked saves

the legit game has no saves and the cracked one has a save at a level past the cyberdemon (i forgot which and the cracked one isnt launching for some reason)

i also renamed my drive to drvE (unmounting and remounting to a new directory and editing fstab to reflect it) because it used to have a random name which may be relevant

Hello,

I created a new guide for modding games in linux.

It is still under construction, and your feedback would be appreciated.

You may ask a question and the guide will be updated accordingly, so that it contains best practices and common troubleshoots.

I'll be following the community here also.

Bad performance on Elden Ring Nightreign when playing online

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 06. Februar 2026 - 13:49

So I tried Nightreign on my new PC running Linux Mint and the game runs at stable 60fps during tutorial and on the hub, but then I tried hopping online with a friend and it constantly fluctuates between 45-50ish for some reason. I tried lowering graphical settings but it runs just as bad no matter if it's on the High or Low preset, I already tried using the gamemode command on launch options and it changes nothing. I think my PC (Ryzen 5 5500 9060 XT 16gb) should be capable of running this game at 1080p 60 fps, so this is really bugging me.
