My new graphic card
I bought a RX6600 as an upgrade over the Ryzen 5 5600g integrated graphics, I can play all my games in high graphics without problems :D
Now I'm waiting for two ram slots of 8GB to complete 32GB

petition for Fortnite
Has anyone ever thought of petitioning Epic Games to get Fortnite on linux?
If they were to listen to it, it would be a further leap forward.
What do you think?

SSL certificate error when trying to run a plugin for X-Plane12
I am having issues on my friends Arch Linux install that I am not having on my Linux Mint when trying to setup and run a plugin for X-Plane 12 called "Auto Ortho" that is used to stream satellite imagery tiles into the simulator.
Running the following gives a SSL certificate error
./autoortho_lin_0.7.2.bin
The following allows the application to run but seems to cause severe lag and time outs that can crash the entire simulator.
SSL_CERT_DIR=/etc/ssl/certs ./autoortho_lin_0.7.2.bin
Is there a way to tell arch linux to trust the certificate for this once and never have to run it with that argument ever again to just allow it to run normally like on my Linux Mint installation ?
PS I have tested this on Ubuntu (works without having to fiddle with certs like Linux Mint) and Fedora (Has the same issue and is essentially unusable as it is)
PSS This plugin is a linux native program made in python and was ported to mac and windows so this is not a case of a lazy linux port it is also worth mentioning that the app uses simlinks to inject the data to stream into the simulator and that there might be perms issues here however it should not as I am not getting perms errors in the shell and the game (X-Plane12) is installed via steam (runtime) and not flatpack version.
I am confused why Fedora and arch are behaving differently from Ubuntu/Mint/Debian in this situation is there something with how those distros handle SSL certs that is different ?

Is steam not using my DGPU or is my performance just bad?
I'm currently playing Dying Light and Euro Truck Sim 2 on my Acer Aspire E5-475G, and these games are playable but they nearly have the exact same performance as my IGPU instead of my DGPU (compared to windows at least) and I really don't know how to fix this, or if my DGPU is just horrible for Linux Mint.
Some notes:
I am on driver version 560, on Wayland (no difference for me on X11 previously) and Mangohud shows really low CPU usage (again, pretty much the same as if I had used my IGPU on Windows) and it just shows the GPU usage at 0%. I am also running these games natively, NOT THROUGH PROTON.
Specs:
Acer Aspire E5-475G (no option to turn off IGPU in bios)
Intel i5 7200u
Nvidia Geforce 940MX
8 GB DDR4 2133 MHZ
Teamgroup CX2 256 GB SATA SSD
Linux Mint 22 "Wilma" on KDE Plasma 5.27.11
Proprietary Nvidia Driver version 560, Wayland

What values should I set to undervolt my 7900XT?
By default LACT shows
1) Power usage limit - 265/333W
2) Maximum GPU clock - 2785MHz
3) Maximum VRAM clock - 2500MHz
4) GPU voltage offset - 0mV
on techpowerup the Boost clock is 2449MHz, why is the maximum GPU clock 2785MHz then?
What values should I set for voltage offset(idk what my default voltage is), maximum GPU clock and power usage limit? From what I know I don't need to touch the VRAM clock settings

Valorant
So is there any chance, any rumblings, any news at all about a potential future where Valorant is playable on Linux? I play a lot of Valorant and that's a big thing stopping me from switching fully to Linux

Guys, use gamescope, seriously
Over the past few days I've helped a few people on this sabreddit by simply advising them to use gamescope instead of native solutions (and was surprised that as it turns out, it's not used that often) that can perform poorly and render low FPS, such as cs2. Speaking of cs2, not only will you get rid of the problems with FPS drop and statting, but you'll probably get much more FPS than normal.
Maybe not everyone knows about gamescope, maybe someone just forgot it existed. I'm just reminding you.
If you have problems with rendering game windows (especially in window managers), this thing will help you for sure. That's why almost all games on Steam Deck run without problems, because it uses gamescope by default.

Is there a way to enable Feral Gamemode for Flatpaks like my PPSSPP Flatpak installation?
Trying to get the most performance out of my i5-7500T and its integrated GPU, sometimes I get FPS drops, like when a lot of smoke rolls off the tires. Was wondering if there is a way to enable gamemode for Flatpak apps? Some Flatpak apps actually have gamemode support in the settings of the app, like in the Heroic Games Launcher, you can go to the settings for the game in the launcher and select to turn on gamemode support. But I haven't seen that inside PPSSPP.

transferring files between my phone and the steam deck
I have always wanted a fast way to transfer my files between the two devices
some lads recommended using KDE Connect but I was honestly pretty disappointed with how slow it was,
I was hoping to find something similar to an app on my xiaomi phone called "ShareMe" which I use to transfer files between my phones (and the transfer speed with that app are blazing fast when compared to other FTP server transfer apps)

Best Arch Linux / Steam OS Games to play on my steam deck? (Games that are not on the steam store)
How to update an Xbox Series X/S controller on Linux?
Hello! I've recently ran into an issue where I was not able to connect my Xbox Series X/S controller to my Steam Deck through bluetooth. Long story short I fixed it by downloading the latest updates for it through the Xbox Accessories app on Windows. However, the problem is that I don't own a Windows machine and I had to go to my friend's house to do that as I was not able to find a way to do this on Linux (specifically Linux Mint). I don't believe that I am the first with this issue. Is there a solution for this? Thanks in advance!

Steam (and ONLY Steam) Downloads Super Slow
Currently on Zorin OS 17.2 Not dual booted or anything. All storage devices formatted ext4.
Downloads both of games or the shader precache are stuck at 1MB/s or less. Normal downloads hover around 20+. I can get that speed anywhere else. Be it speed tests or downloads from say Heroic game launcher.
It's seriously only steam and I have no idea why. Started about a week or more ago and it hasn't gotten better. Rarely switching countries in the download region will trigger my expected speeds but then it'll come back down.

network spikes causing game stutters
OS: Arch Linux
Kernel: Liquorix (6.12.6)
DE: KDE Plasma (6.2.4)
WM: Wayland
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
GPU: RTX 4060 TI 8gb (565.77)
RAM: 32gb 3200m/ts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
been trying out Arch for the past week or so, and really enjoying it. everything so far has actually gone pretty smooth, but there has been one issue ive been running into. i notice, when i play online games, Deep Rock Galactic in this case, my game has these weird micro-stutters every so often. the game is still playable, but its still enough of a nuisance that i want to try to find a solution. i ran a system monitor while i played so that i could try to get a better idea whats going on, and when the game stutters my network usage always spikes to max. ive also noticed that this stutter is not an issue when i am playing solo without other players, only when i play online or i am using a lot of network resources does the stutter show up.
does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

what distros are currently capable of running VRR with multiple monitors?
as the title says.
my current setup looks like this:
OS: linux mint 22 cinnamon xorg; GPU: amd radeon RX 7600 XT; monitor one: alienware AW3423DWF (144hz, freesync capable); monitor two: dell U2515H (60hz, no freesync)
i've been using linux mint for a year and a half but i've been having issues with random fatal freezes (whole system becomes fully unresponsive and requires hard reboot) in some games, and i'm about sick of it. i haven't been able to find a fix, but as far as i gathered from other posts, it's got to do with xorg, and with VRR being enabled. the only way i could play games with VRR enabled is by disabling my second monitor completely before launching a game (via steam, using proton).
ideally what i'd like to achieve is to be able to leave my second monitor on, have VRR working on my main, and not worry about those random fatal freezes. so basically a functional experience lol. oh and if any of them can also do HDR that'd be nice, but idk how realistic that is.
what distros would you recommend in this case? i don't mind trying new things if they work. thanks in advance!
