Is there any other cracked launchers other than SKLauncher
I've been a SKLauncher user for quite some time now, and I wanna migrate to other cracked launchers. Could y'all recommend me some other cracked launchers?

DLSS 4.5 stuck on Preset E instead of M (Proton + Gamescope + Silent Hill 2)
Hi all,
I’m trying to force DLSS 4.5 to use Preset M instead of Preset E in Silent Hill 2 remake running on bazzite.
GPU is an RTX 5080 and I’m using Proton with NVAPI enabled. I’m also running Gamescope with HDR enabled.
My current launch options look like this:
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 PROTON_DLSS_UPGRADE=1 PROTON_DLSS_INDICATOR=1 gamescope -f --hdr-enabled -W 3840 -H 2160 -- %command% -dx12
I’ve also tried OVERRIDE_RENDER_PRESET_SELECTION=13
The issue is that DLSS always reports Preset E in-game, never Preset M. The override doesn’t seem to apply at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are these temperatures safe?
My CPU is an Ryzen 7 8700G under 30% use and my GPU is an Radeon RX 7600 under 50% use, I got these temps playing subnautica below zero and cyberpunk.
Thanks!

Looking for my next game
When Covid hit I got into destiny 2 on PC. After 3,000 hours I moved onto 1,800 hours of Helldivers 2 and about 900 of Darktide. Helldivers pushed me to Linux since it runs way better on Linux. I don't play destiny anymore and I can't on Linux (so dumb).
I'm growing a bit tired of Helldivers and darktide and am looking for another multiplayer game that I can play ideally on Linux.
I don't like pvp extraction shooters or anything anime for games (of course I watched dbz though don't worry).
I liked Abyssus but the population is so small I can rarely find teammates.
I've tried to play single player games but I swear they have this empty lonely feeling to them. I did love Alan Wake 3 and am trying to push through the Crysis series, avatar, and I'll do death stranding maybe next.
Any multiplayer games you'd recommend? I have top en hardware so running it on Linux from a performance perspective is not a problem.

12 Verified + Proton Platinum/Gold games under $20 right now — filtered from 21K game database
Hi r/linux_gaming,
Data post. I run DeckAlly, a handheld gaming database that cross-references Steam Deck Verified status with ProtonDB ratings and live deal prices. Useful for Linux/Deck users who care about compatibility confidence before buying.
Tonight's filter: Verified or Playable status + ProtonDB Platinum or Gold + active price ≤ $20 + discount ≥ 70%.

Hunt showdown random crashes
Is anyone else experiencing random crashes in Hunt: Showdown recently? This wasn’t happening before. I’m not sure if it started after a recent update or something else, but now the game just crashes at random times, even in the lobby. What’s even worse is that the reconnect feature in the game is broken

Multiple games freezing the whole system
While playing a few games freeze my PC entirely Sometimes it happens at a certain point (For example City skylines every time I try to make a new town it freezes) and sometimes completely randomly. They're not instantly freezing but gradually first the whole PC drops to 10 fps after a few seconds to 1 fps until I have to reset the computer Manually. For now the games that froze my pc include:
Minecraft
Everwind
City skylines
I have 16Gb of ram and an RX6600
How can I solve this issue I've been using linux since like 2 weeks so I don't have to knowledge to verify the problem myself.

Pizza Titan Ultra has been super fun! Out for a few years and runs great on Proton.
I've been streaming this game for the last two weeks and it's been a blast. Worked fine under CachyOS, even better under Pika but that's likely since I know Debian based distros more. Great game by Breakfall Studios. Deliver pizza in a mech while laughing at parody characters and a zany storyline.

i made this vulkan layer for color grading (vkSumi)
Since using Reshade for basic tweaks on colors is genuinely too annoying (at least for me, plus, backing up every game config is a bit a pain in the ass), I made this vulkan layer for color grading (brightness, shadows, hue, rgb, saturation, vibrance, contrast, gamma, etc.) that has real-time reloading, so you don't need to restart the game, and well its super lightweight.
But since well, Vulkan is Vulkan, i'd really appreciate if someone could test it on their end and leave a feedback :p

Why does ppl said to activate that option
To me it seem risky and the game work fine without it. Game is battlefront 2 (2018)

Help with partitioning scheme for 1TiB NVMe
While I know partitioning is a very personal affair, I would like to ask for ideas on the partitioning scheme of my 1 TiB Gen 4 NVMe SSD.
My current rig is
- MSI B550-A Pro
- 32 GiB DDR4 at 3200MHz
- 5700X3D
- Radeon RX 6700XT
- Gen 4 NVMe 1TiB
My starting idea is to use Logical Volume Management (LVM), where I would to try a few different base OSs.
In my current install of CachyOS, I was lazy and formatted the NVMe to use the same partition. I don't like that.
Furthermore, I would like to have the ability to try different OSs and have my user in each of them to share the same /home/${user} mount. And have a dedicated swap partition.
I would like also to have a dedicated device mounted as /home/${user}/games where I can put my SteamLibrary. I could get another NVMe for my motherboard, but it only has one Gen 4 NVMe bay and getting a 1 or 2 TiB Gen 3 NVMe does not seem like the best approach to me because I am setting up a NAS in my network where I want to use to store the documents on my /home/${user} over at a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connection.
What would you suggest in this scenario?

AMD Frame Generation in Crimson Desert
I've noticed that in Crimson Desert in CachyOS turning in FSR Frame Generation doesn't make the game more "fluid" (sorry if this isn't the best term, english is not my native language), compared to Windows where the difference is visible. Like for example on Cachy 60FPS native and 120FPS generated feels the same.
I'm using an 9070XT, FSR 4.1 NativeAA.
I know that using frame gen is a bit controversial, but I don't feel the drawbacks (input lag or whatever) and this is a single player game.

I found this video of someone playing World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade on Linux during the launch period in 2007 ... Absolutely amazing piece of history.
NVIDIA 5080 cant change powermizer settings
I'm running Fedora KDE 43
NVIDIA 5080
9800X3D
4k OLED 240HZ
PSA: I'm still learning about the Linux world lol
I cannot change the powermizer settings on NVIDIA X Server Settings. When I select the PowerMizer tab, I see the option to change it, but it then immediately disappears.
A lot of my games run great, but then I boot up that same game some other day and the performance dips pretty bad. Now it doesn't go back to the great performance it once had. I don't know if its shaders processing in the background, but I do let the Vulkan Shaders fully download on startup. I'm not sure why, but I usually notice my GPU utilization also dropped, so I am assuming its my GPU performance mode that may be causing the issue. On Windows I get easily over 120+ FPS.
The performance overlay is for Death Stranding Directors Cut (Platinum on ProtonDB.) I used to get 120+ FPS. Now its below that, especially once I start moving around, I get dips to 30FPS. Game is running Proton Experimental. I've also tried GE and Cachy OS.
And yes, its running on my GPU and not iGPU.
Launch options: mangohud gamemoderun %command%
When I run:
nvidia-settings -q [gpu:0]/GPUPowerMizerMode
I get:
Attribute 'GPUPowerMizerMode' ([gpu:0]): 0.
Valid values for 'GPUPowerMizerMode' are: 0, 1 and 2.
'GPUPowerMizerMode' can use the following target types: GPU.
Also, my CPU governor is on power save:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor
powersave
Obviously have the options for "performance":
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
performance powersave
When running a game I get this:
gamemoded -s
gamemode is active
Attaching this incase it helps:
