so im looking into the BC-250 mining card and ive noticed that either people are strapping fans to it or using a CPU mount. but this is a GPU style card. does anyone know if it has a similar mounting structure to another asrock card or any GPU that i could get a 3rd party cooling kit?

Hello! I am playing this game on CachyOS with Proton Experimental. I checked proton-cachyos-slr and ge-proton as well. All of them are giving this error when I enable Ray Tracing in the game and also occasionally after playing the game for a while.

My specs: Ryzen 7700x, Nvidia RTX 4070, 32 GB RAM, Nvme SSD.

I do not know about the values but I want to understand what is the root cause of this error and if it's fixable. Thank you.

I keep having this error pop up whenever I'm trying to play a more demanding game, such as RE8 with my GPU. Any clue as to why?

I am running the stock Arch kernel, I am on nvidia-open-dkms version 590.48.01 and I'm running the game through GE-Proton 10-31.

Hi everyone, I’m using Linux Mint Cinnamon on a Dell Inspiron N4030 with an i3-380M (1st gen Intel HD Graphics). I’m trying to run a small Godot game (.exe) using Wine, but as shown in the screenshot, I get an error saying my GPU/driver doesn’t support OpenGL 3.3 or Direct3D 11, and ANGLE fails to initialize. I understand that this is very old hardware, but I’m wondering: Is there any way to bypass the OpenGL 3.3 / D3D11 requirement? Can I force software rendering (like llvmpipe) with Wine? Would using a different Wine version, Proton, or Vulkan translation (like DXVK) help in this case? I’m just experimenting to see what’s technically possible on this machine. Thanks!

Sous Linux j'arrive tout juste à faire tourner assassin's creed valhalla en 4k moyen 50fps... les 2 autres jeux sont injouable ( 10fps avec ride en 4k , et 50 en 720p😅 , et counter strike plante )
Je lance mes jeux avec lutris et proton GE latest.

Comment puis-je améliorer les performances ?

Peut etre qu'une autre version de linux serait plus adaptée a intel?

Essentially, I have tried almost every step in trying to make Rocket League (RL) run on Heroic Launcher (HL), and at this point I am desperate for a solution.

Steps I have taken:

1. Disable UMU in the HL: I re-enable and disable it every time I attempt something new it is incredibly unlikely this is the problem

2. Install new drivers: I run a 1660ti mobile which from my research is capable of running Vulkan 1.3

a. I have the driver manager and upgraded to my most recent driver version (nvidia-driver-590-open)

1. Installed 32-bit vulkan drivers (to the best of my ability)

a. sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

sudo apt update . I ran this code and updates anythign that stated it needed and update
b. sudo apt install libvulkan1:i386 libnvidia-gl-<version>:i386 # Replace <version> with your driver version . This was the second peice of code that I did not know how to run so i did not.

1. I do not have any custom scripts running in HL

2. I have deleted and refreshed the prefix folder

What I have not done:

1. As stated in 3. b. i did not run that last bit of code so I do not know what version of vulkan(?) im running.

2. Use Proton-Sarek or Proton-GE

I dont know why, but recently I updated Sober, but recently I tried to open sober, and it crashes automatically after like 10 seconds, what do I do? Is it just me thats going through this? If so, can someone help me out. Thank you.

I recently jumped from Win 10 over to Fedora 43, and so far all's well. I'm having trouble getting AoM: Retold to run, though.

When launching, the game shows the AoM: Retold splash screen, then loads a black screen. After this point, the only things that load are the cursor and in-game audio e.g. music; there is no other graphical element and it does not seem that the interface loads, as I am unable to press anything. A text-to-speech voice says "This game supports autosave. Welcome to Age of Mythology: Retold. Please take a moment to set your preferences. You can change these again in the Settings menu." The rest of the desktop remains responsive.

Are other games affected: no. I am already able to run Elden Ring: Nightreign with no observable issues, which should rule out minimum requirements not being met.

I'm currently doing a miniproject to do couch gaming on a TV using an Intel NUC running Bazzite that will have small apps like:

Spotify
Brave
Youtube
Moonlight

I was able to configure, and test the Artemis\Moonlight config and it works superb, Now, I'm due to get a controller to setup on the NUC for true couch gaming, but in the meantime, I'm looking to build a "Smart TV" like interface, almost like Kodi but with better granularity and just overall easier use and navigation.

My idea is that I can add App Tiles and Bookmark shortcuts as tiles for favourite websites in brave as well Spotify, Youtube and Then Moonlight to then Launch my games from,

Preferably be able to add widgets like Weather (Just cuz it'll look cool) and perhaps Spotify playing now or something like that,

Please let me know if I'm being overboard or if you know of any good tools/Apps that might be able to replicate this for me,

TLDR: Google Chromecast UI, with custom app tiles that'll go to various other links in and around the OS/WEB/Moonlight for gaming (Kodi is a pain thus far)

Haven't seen much posted about this, so I figured I'd share my quick review.

I usually stick to stereo audio through headphones unless the games surround sound or 3D audio is done really well. I have a PS5 and used to run Dolby Atmos on my Windows 11 PC, curently on bazzite desktop for work and gaming.

Enabling PipeWire's virtual surround took literally 2 seconds, super easy but the default profile sounded kinda low quality to me, like Windows Sonic IMO, and nowhere near as clear and crisp as Atmos. Found the atmos.wav profile which apparently emulates Dolby's atmos sound and it's absolutely A tier.

Here's my current ranking:

Best positional audio

1. Sony's PS5 3D Audio - wins by far in this area
2. Dolby Atmos
3. Windows Sonic / PipeWire virtual surround with the Atmos profile (still amazing positional audio tested it in Requiem 7.1 and it's an incredible upgrade over plain stereo)

Best overall experience audio quality + positional audio

1. Dolby Atmos
2. PipeWire virtual surround with the Atmos profile (Main downside of Sony's and windows solution is that I notice it downgrades audio quality and crispness the most). I honestly feel this comes so close to actual dolby atmos W11 exp
3. PS5 3D Audio
4. Windows Sonic

I downloaded the atmos.wav profile and yeah, setting it up was a bit annoying, but I got there in the end. 100% worth it though. The positional audio is extremely close to the Atmos exp on windows IMO

FYI: it does bump up CPU usage noticeably.

I just setup Linux Mint for the first time.
Whenever I try to run a game on steam, it will open and then just be a white/black screen. I have tried changing Proton version, but that only changed which color it got stuck on.

Whenever a CS2 update releases, my computer can download most of the update, then stops before it finishes. In the downloads page, it says "No internet connection." This only happens with CS2. I have tried clearing my cache, changing download regions, changing DNS servers, restarting my PC, turning off my firewall, and trying to update in 2 different different houses with 2 different ISPs.

So far, the only solution I have is to reinstall the game every time there's an update, but I have very limited bandwidth, so this is not a good solution.

As the title says, some games tend to randomly freeze my pc. Its not instant, it happens after some time. Sometimes it require hard reboot, sometimes its resolves itself in 30 s max, but closes the game, etc. Games that I noticed are doing it:

Tbh its getting quite frustrating... When it dont happen its just great, but when it happens, then it justs buzz kill.... and worst of all idk what could be cousing issues! As benchmarks, i tired ai text and image generation and it just worked (for longer that it takes on average to cause freezes) worst of all its not that it always takes, for example 10 min to freeze. sometimes its 20 sometimes its 40 sometimes it dont freeze at all. And for some reseons its tend to happen in some games only....
