It has so many features that I cant possibly compose them in one post, but here are few highlights: mouse controls, built-in ascii art media player, RPC server, game detection service, powerful extension API, theming, all advanced chat features and voice calls are under development.

In very excited about getting a new card, and its my first amd card ever, is there anything that i have to do.

I remember i installed the amd steam once by accident and it didnt work with my nvidia card. And i had to uninstall and reinstall.

Would it be easier just to do a fresh install after i seat the new graphics card?

*I'm a relatively new Linux user, currently using Mint 22.1 Cinnamon.

*I've been trying to play Red Dead Redemption via Faugus Launcher, but for some reason it keeps crashing after few seconds.

*My laptop is pretty weak but it's supposed to run this game fine.

*My specs: 8GB DDR4 - Radeon R5 M330 2GB - Inter Core i5-7200U

*I say that it's supposed to run because during those few seconds the game runs pretty well then it freezes and after some time the whole system crashes

*I used different versions of Proton and nothing worked

I downloaded Cemu from the Bazaar, but every time I try to load a game it gets stuck on the splash screen and refuses to load. Any fixes?

решил попробовать поставить геншин на linux, по гайдам все вроде делал, использую heroic launcher, файлы игры скачались нормально, но вот когда запустил, после экрана приветсвия 2 кадра и ничего не меняется, может кто то сталкивался с такой же проблемой? если да то как решили?

I have a PNG with transparency that I want to display inside the MMORPG I play, in an specific X Y position.

It doesn't need to get updated just autostart with the game.

It would be nice if there was a key to toggle it ingame too.

Which should I chose? I want the best performance for gaming while also having good stability and being able to install apps or do settings without needing to write 1000 commands and troubleshooting like in kubuntu where obs doesn't even detect my GPU as an encoder. If there's one even better for my needs please tell me. I do editing, screen recording, gaming, coding and everyday stuff like listening to music, watching YouTube etc

I installed Zorin 18 about two weeks ago, updated system it and all is working good. Installed Steam, then DAYZ. It installed the game plus all the runtimes (1.0, 2.0, 3.0) Proton BattlEye runtime, and Proton Experimental. I exited Steam and restarted and connected to official servers, and a LAN server and it ran and played great. I didn't want to download any mods just yet so I just stayed on official servers. Connected again the next day and was able to play fine.

Didn't play for a few days and when I tried to join, everything seemed normal until after the 1:15 or 15 second countdown, then it would pause and give one of two errors:

Warning (0x00040031) You were kicked off the game Login timed out (AuthPlayerLoginState)
Warning (0x000400f0) You were kicked off the game BattlEye (Client not responding)

I then verified the files and everything reported as fine. Restarted steam and same errors, usually Login timed out but a few BattlEye errors.

Renamed the Battleye folder and re-verified, it said some files were missing and would be re-downloaded so I exited Steam, restarted and it reinstalled all of the files again.

I got the same errors so I kind of gave up then. I tried again 2 or 3 days later and was able to connect and play again. After a day or so the errors came back and won't stop now.

This is connecting to any server, low ping or even LAN. Running DAYZ on Win11 has no issues whatsoever connecting or playing on all the same servers. (LAN servers running on Win11 and another on Linux.)

Any thoughts as to what i should try next?

Not only is the performance awful with constant stuttering, lower fps than I should be getting (50-70 frames) ​and fps dips (as low as 9-30) (doesn't just seem to be a lack of Linux compatiblity) the grass flickers like ​friggin ​crazy, I've tried limiting the FPS and even that didn't help much, are there any launch commands or recommend proton versions that can help me out here?

​​I'm using CachyOS, I've used both bore-lto and stock​. I have also ran the gaming using Proton experimental, proton-cachyos (native) and proton-cachyos (steam-linux runtime) to run the​ game. I am running this game on a RTX 4080-S, a Ryzen 9 5900x 12-core, and 32GB of ram. I've tried this game on both Btrfs ​formatted drives and Ext4 formatted drives. I have also turned hardware anti-aliasing off and environmental qaulity to low.

I'm running Steam on GNOME on Arch LInux with a GT 1030 (but on a new/fast computer) and it seems to be taking a full minute or so for games to actually launch every time. This is anything from BioShock, DeadSpace to Doom 1. Nothing is showing up in the Steam logs, journalctl or anything else, so I really have no idea what's happening. I tried a bunch of stuff like changing which Proton version games use, disabling overlay and several other common recommendations but nothing changes. Is this just an Nvidia driver issue because my card is ancient? I'm using the official driver, LTS version. It was the same on non-LTS too. I can't think of what else it would be other than some kind of network issue. Launching retrodoom, on the other hand is done in a fraction of a second. It's a huge difference.

I want to switch to Linux (mint cinnamon) and I use an Nvidia RTX 5060, the probllem is i heard downloading drivers and other stuff from Nvidia is kinda complicated on Linux and people normally use AMD.

I wanted to know what is the best AMD gpu close to mine so I can use Linux (I will use Linux mainly for gaming).

I've recently gotten into playing VRChat again, as my gf plays it and I wanted a space for us to hang out. I hadn't played it since before I completely swapped to Linux, so I didn't know what to expect, but surprisingly, it ran quite well through Proton Experimental! It froze for like half a second every now and then on busier maps, but otherwise, it ran great.

I do know about this game's infamous anticheat, and I no doubt have experienced its...quriks on Windows. However, since I'm running the game through a compatibility layer, is EAC not even an issue (i.e. only running on startup of VRChat and not in perpetuity)? It doesn't show up when I search for it in System Monitor, so this makes me lean towards yes (which would be amazing), but simply wanted confirmation on this from others who have tried it.

I recently performed a clean install of Nobara 43 and for some reason I can't use MangoHUD in Faugus Launcher. I thought it was a MangoHUD problem, but it works correctly in Steam and Lutris. Should I reinstall MangoHUD?

In the launcher, I can't select the MangoHUD option, and if I add it as an argument, the game won't open.

So I asked how to Hogwarts legacy lagging more on Linux than on windows and you told me to uninstall the amdgpu driver and just use mesa. I uninstalled amdgpu, my system broke and I needed to enter through recovery mode to reinstall amdgpusince at first many apps weren't working and after a rebbot nothing happened when I selected kubuntu on grub. Should I switch os and get bazzite or something else?

Seemingly randomly, my whole PC freezes except audio, it works fine since Spotify still plays, but I can't switch windows or move my mouse, and on my other monitor also nothing happens, and I am forced to restart to fix it.

Guys, I think a accidentally tranform my laptop into a steam machine. I was on the ChrimeraOS steam session on my cachyOS, and out of curiosity I decided to change the steam version from stable to beta, and now this appears.

I use Linux mint and downloaded the latest version of lutris through the official GitHub page. For some reason Proton ge is not showing up on the executables tab.
