Fullscreen / Resolution issue in Linux (CachyOS Cosmic)
Age of Empires 4 recent issue with graphics.
I recently tested this game on Fedora 43 and CachyOS, with NVIDIA drivers correctly installed.
I tested it using Proton 10, Proton-GE, and the Proton version included in CachyOS.
Up until about 10 days ago everything was working fine, but now the game—despite being set to maximum graphics (I have an RTX 5080)—shows extremely low-quality graphics on all the characters in the game. Someone knows how to fix it?

What Simulators are we running?
I've been on Cachy OS since probably a month or two before Win10 EOL. Each weekend I've been making steady progress to update my Steam Library. I'm big on my sims (Mil, Flight, Racing)...I would like to ask, what is working for you guys/gals?
I wanna plug back into MSFS2020 but they want an entire TB...That is a bit much for me. Arma 3 works, but I haven't tried Assetto Corsa yet and X-Plane 11 is giving me some issues.
Thank you.

Steam Link issues on CachyOS
Got an old steam link box. On windows, it works great - in particular, when I exit Big Picture Mode it lets me see my entire desktop and things like firefox. However, on linux if I exit big picture mode it shows a black screen with a stationary mouse pointer (even when I move the mouse pointer). The mouse pointer moves about if I hover it over my steam client but it doesn't show anything in the steam client.
I'm guessing it's related to the graphics card? Not sure if there's some graphics settings I've got to sort on that side of things.
I've got an Nvidia 3080, and am using the graphics settings that cachyOS found by default when installing. Am I missing something obvious in my setup or is this something that steam link on linux doesn't do?

Switching from Mint to Bazzite. Is it worth it?
I have been using Mint for 6 months. I've had really good luck with pretty much all the games I play minus getting the rockstar launcher for RDR2. From what I've read that is pretty much built into Bazzite but it's not worth the switch for just that. Has anyone gone from LM to Bazzite and noticed a performance increase. I don't mind switching distros for more than 1 reason.

Should I switch to fedora KDE
I have booted Fedora GNOME and I want to set it up for gaming. In many online tutorials, Fedora KDE is used, and I am doubtful about switching again. The problem with Fedora KDE is that it looks similar to Windows, and I don’t want that. I think KDE is more customizable, but I don’t know how much more customizable it actually is. I also have an NVIDIA RTX 3050 graphics card, so I’m doubtful about whether it will work properly or not.

Playing PS4 game on Linux?
Hi there, I've been a *forever* fan of BloodBorne but I'm not a console person, so I played it a bit in the past. I've heard some rumors about coming to pc but since it was an exclusive, that's probably never going to happen.
Anyways, I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni3AoIvUt0E&t=235 And I've found BBlauncher has a Linux option (https://github.com/rainmakerv3/BB\_Launcher). Question being: has anyone tried something similar? What's the expected performance overall?
I'm playing in an *old* high end computer, so things like CS, OW2, AL works amazing for my 3770k+GTX690 (windows ~90fps), in Linux, I've tried so far CS and OW2 with amazing results (~80-90fps). I KNOW that my rig is old, I know it would be better to run it newer hardware, that's obvious. But BB IS OLD, and I don't play to run it beyond 1080p. I'm just wondering if it worth all the fuzz with experienced ppl.
Thank you in advance.

Controller
Hi everyone, does anyone know how to set up a Bluetooth controller on Linux? I tried using it on Steam and the controller is recognized, but when I press the guide button, it stops working.

Is starting a game project actually harder than finishing one?
We often talk about how difficult it is to finish a game, but lately I’ve been wondering if the hardest moment is actually the beginning. That gap between imagination and the first playable version is where many projects quietly disappear. Fear of complexity, lack of time, technical uncertainty all of it stacks up before anything even exists. When I recently generated a rough playable environment from a simple concept, what surprised me most wasn’t the technology itself it was the psychological shift. Seeing something interactive instantly made the project feel real, and that alone boosted motivation. It made me question how many great ideas never survive that invisible starting barrier. If tools continue reducing that friction, do we end up with more finished games or just more experiments that never mature? And what really drives creators forward progress or perfection? Curious to hear your perspective: is getting started the true bottleneck of game development?

RTS Camera jumping when scrolling with Middle-Mouse + Mouse Move
Hey guys,
I'm running a totally fresh arch install with KDE.
My basic setup seems to be fine, performance in games is as expected.
Now to my issue:
I'm playing Company of Heroes 3, a RTS, and I'm using the middle mouse button to drag the camera, meaning I click and hold the middle mouse button and then move the mouse to move the camera.
Now, if the mouse is still when I do the middle-mouse-hold and then move, all is fine.
However, if the mouse is already moving while I dmiddle-mouse-hold + drag, the camera then jumps across the map, the faster the initial mouse movement, the further the jump.
That makes the game totally unplayable for me, as my view is not where I'd expect it to be.
Anyone got an idea how I could mitigate this?
Edit: Mouse acceleration is off in KDE

Save games on Steam
Hi, guys.
I'm new to the Linux world, and would like to ask for some help with Steam save games. Steam cloud isn't working well and when I open Blasphemous, it doesn't syncronized my last save.
I've downloaded my last save from the Steam cloud as you can see below.
But now I need to know where to put this so I can play the game with my last save from Windows. :c
I've tried to put in two directories:
- /home/user/.config/unity3d/TheGameKitchen/Blasphemous/Savegames/IDnumber/savegame_2/
- /run/media/user/HD/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/774361/
I have a SSD and a HD in my desktop (don't know if this matters). The second try was on HD. And nothing happened. I still can't get the right save.
I don't know what else to do, so, please, can someone help me? Thanks.

Logitech Driving Force Pro FFB help
As the post says, my FFB is acting all funky. I've managed to test one other game and it basically has no FFB apart from vibration caused by collisions. Any insight would be appreciated

No audio for Minecraft on arch linux
Basically im trying to run Minecraft fabric 1.20.1 on KDE arch linux through curseforge, and whenever I start the game, there's no audio, and when I check my audio settings on my PC itself there's nothing in the applications tab... the weird thing is that it works perfectly fine on 1.21.11. Does anyone else have this issue? And if so is there any fixes?

Keep HDMI Audio Alive In Pipewiere
I have the same issue as the user who posted this:
However, that post seems to be abandoned now and the solutions don't seem to work with pipewire.
My PC uses an HDMI connection to a Samsung soundbar receiver, so the sound goes into a suspend mode when not active. That creates a really annoying second (up to about 2 seconds sometimes) that there's no sound when I start media playing. It may sound minor, but it can sometimes be enough to miss the first half of a sentence or the intro to music.
The post I referenced above mentions solutions for alsa. I'm running Linux Mint 22.3 with pipewire, so I haven't had any luck with solutions meant for alsa or pulse.
Has anyone had luck with generating a constant inaudible sound output to keep their HDMI receiver awake on pipewire??

First time Linux
So I really need some help, I’ve decided to leave windows and go to Linux. And I found two I’m leaning heavily towards, Linux mint and pop!_OS, I have all AMD. And I mostly just game and internet. I already know certain games don’t work, and those games I don’t even play. So my question which of the two distros is best for a Linux beginner? Or do you recommend a third?.

I'm building a native "Armoury Crate" alternative for ASUS Laptops on Linux (Python + CustomTkinter)
Hi everyone!
I recently switched my ASUS TUF F15 to Linux Mint and realized there wasn't a great GUI for controlling fans and GPU modes without using the terminal or generic scripts.
So, I decided to build my own "Command Center" using Python.
Project: NeuroBoost Ultimate It’s a standalone system optimizer designed to replace the core functions of Armoury Crate on Linux.
[Screenshot attached]
Current Features:
- 🚀 3 Native Modes: Silent, Balanced, and Turbo (Directly talks to the ASUS WMI kernel driver).
- 🎮 "AI" Auto-Pilot: Watcher service that detects when I launch a game (Steam, Cyberpunk, etc.) and automatically switches the laptop to Turbo mode.
- 📊 Real-Time Dashboard: Live graphing of GPU Temp, CPU Load, and Clock Offsets.
- ⚡ Safe Overclocking: Simple slider to boost NVIDIA Memory Clocks via nvidia-settings.
- 🛡️ Universal Support: Working on a fallback mode for AMD users (so it doesn't crash if nvidia-smi isn't found).
Tech Stack:
- Python 3
- CustomTkinter (UI)
- Matplotlib (Graphs)
- asus-nb-wmi & nvidia-settings (Backend)
Status: It's currently working perfectly on my machine (TUF F15 FX506LI). I'm just polishing the code, adding an installer script, and making sure it handles different ASUS models safely before I upload the source to GitHub.
Question for the community: Is there anything specific you guys would want to see in a tool like this? I'm planning to release it as open-source once I clean up the repo.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers, Vedant
