Overheating when playing DbD
The game launches and plays just fine under Steam Proton, but at a random point of a match my gpu temp raises enough to make my fans roar. The game may also crash with the "Out of memory trying to allocate a rendering resource" error. On the same machine, but Windows, the game runs flawlessly out of the box.
System:
Linux Mint; Intel i5-7200U; 8gb ram; Nvidia geforce gtx 1050 2gb vram

GE-Proton 9-24 released with a new save game detection feature
Play WPE games on Linux?
Hi, I recently came across a game that's made with WPE and I can't get it to run on my arch Linux. I've tried both regular wine and all Proton versions steam makes available. In both cases it doesn't Show anything of the game and doesn't throw an error.
I've tried searching around, but all I could find Was about compiling the WPE game for Linux, not launching a Compiler game. Any Tips on what else I could try?

I was having a "Disk Write Error" when trying to download games, (FIX)
So I used to have some issues with installing games on my second drive, after a LONG time of searching, I discovered the fix, and figured out that i had discovered it earlier but I ignored it as I thought it would be outdated, So TO THE FIX!
So basically I had installed steam off of the software store built into gnome, I installed the flatpak and that would be fine if it wasn't for wanting to install onto my second drive, turns out the flatpak version is super messed up for some reason in multiple ways, anyway, for those tryna fix this ima skip this whole part of why its messed up,
Step 1: Delete your flatpak version of Steam
Step 2: Visit Steam and Download Steam's Deb file (or whatever version you need)
Step 3: Right Click the Deb File and select "Open With" then "Software" (or whatever you use to install apps)
Step 4: Your done!
(Notes): This error was on Ubuntu Linux but I believe it should work for most distro's still.
(Other error that may come)
When trying to open Steam from the website it said "Couldn't set up Steam data - please contact technical support"
Step 1: I believe that this was coming from problems with the installation, from another forum I scraped this together, simply do commands in the terminal
mv ~/.steam/steam/* ~/.local/share/Steam/
rmdir ~/.steam/steam
ln -s ../.local/share/Steam ~/.steam/steam
rm -rf ~/.steam/bin
Step 2: It may prompt you to update steam, if it does then follow the steps it tells you to do, if it doesnt attempt to start it again and it should.
Hope this fixed it for you guys! Use the comment section to get help
I'm dumb and dunno how to fix stuff and used forums like this one I just made to make this so hopefully someone more advanced than me can help yall! :D

Screenshare with audio on Discord "share audio" checkbox doesn't work
My system generally performs much better on Wayland than Xorg and was hoping I could fully move away from it, but I still stream on Discord sometimes. Xorg works fine streaming applications, but the button to enable audio for streaming on Wayland does nothing currently. Is there a package or something I'm missing? I'm using Pipewire, if it makes a difference.

Does anyone know how to fix Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order stutters?
[My Specs]
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x
RAM: 64GB 3200 DDR4
GPU: RX 7600 8GB
SO: Arch Linux
I wanted to play the game again on Steam for a New Game+ Journey, I love this game but it stutters A LOT.
I've tried Proton Experimental, GE-Proton and DXVK Gplasync - https://gitlab.com/Ph42oN/dxvk-gplasync with RADV_PERFTEST=gpl DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% and the game stutters all the time on each one.
Does anyone know a trick or tip to fix this? Or do I really have to play with Stuttering until the Shader Cache is compiled? Thanks

How to Fix Fullscreen Games Appearing in the Corner on KDE Plasma?
I need some help choosing a distro
Hello,
I have been looking for and using Linux Distros for gaming performance for quite some time. I've used Arch, Manjaro, EndeavourOS, and Debian, but none have quite convinced me.
I love their customisable environments and all that comes with their optimisation, but many times, when playing titles like Minecraft or games from Steam and Epic Games, I encounter several issues, specially with Wine/Proton. That’s not to mention the occasional corruptions caused by some rather unstable packages. Worst of all, the Linux kernel is not compatible with Easy Anti-Cheat, preventing me from playing some games I really enjoy.
Do you think there is a suitable Distro for me?
Thank you very much in advance.

Can't get my bazzite dual boot to start after install
I have secure boot off, fast boot off, followed the video tutorial to dual boot bazzite and windows and can't get it to find the bazzite boot drive. I have the separate efi and made a separate partition for bazzite but every time after installing, it just boots to windows and my bios has no option for a bazzite boot.

Freeze/crash during gaming CS2 with Proton.
Hi,
So I'm having this issue - and I have no idea where to begin.
I've posted it on Discord, but I'll post here in case anyone know anything regarding the issue, or can pinpoint it for me in the errorlog - as I have little to no clue where to look / how to find it.
First things first; Setup:
* OS: Nobara Linux 41 (KDE Plasma) x86_64
* Kernel: Linux 6.13.2-200.nobara.fc41.x86_64
* Display (34C801): 3440x1440 @ 144 Hz in 34" [External]
* DE: KDE Plasma 6.2.5
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (16) @ 5.27 GHz
* GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT [Discrete]
* RAM: Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR5 6000MHz 32GB
* MOBO: Gigabyte X670 GAMING X AX V2
So far, I've mainly played CS2 with GE-Proton9-23 and 24.
After 15 minutes to 3 hours the system freeze for a bit (sound is still up on Discord), then everything goes black on the monitors, everything seems to reset/close and start up again.
The system doesn't reboot, but seemingly ever / a lot of processes restart, and when the system is back up after ~1 minute, no apps is running - as if I've just rebooted the system.
I'm posting this before having done a thorough troubleshoot, as I've yet to try Proton Experimental - nor have I tested other games properly.
But in hopes that anyone have experienced anything similar, and have the fix - here it is:
https://paste.gloriouseggroll.tv/?acb510c12fa6d3fb#1GjLq35wZDH796rR5gZpEmDhFgJzfz7cE4gCHejb71h
The file that is attached is the first time it happened after installing Nobara from scratch, and the text is after trying a few different 'fixes'.

Dayz legacy setup on Linux?
I'd like to run this for myself (offline) https://github.com/DayZLegacyDev/DayZ-Legacy-Launcher just to relive the very early days to see how the map has changed and to make me appreciate the changes.
ive played dayz on pop_os for the last 5 years just using GE Proton builds. Anyone know how to set this up and running on Linux?

Minecraft doesn't capture cursor
I've seen similar questions asked in the past, but I haven't seen a solution yet. Basically, whenever I launch the game, the cursor isn't glued to the centre of the window, instead it can leave the game window, letting the ingame camera stuck. I'm pretty sure that if I get it to the centre it then sticks, but it's very inconsistent. Is there a way to fix this? I'm using Prism Launcher on Fedora 41, with an NVidia RTX 2060 on a laptop
