As the title reads, Sober will not run at all and completely breaks down when trying to run it, unless I’m using a vpn. I tried reinstalling sober, Restarting my computer and many other methods and have gotten nowhere with it, I don’t wanna have to turn on my vpn every time just to play Roblox. Any idea what’s going on ?

I installed CachyOS on my ANV15-52, and I'm getting less than half of the FPS I'd usually get on windows. I'm sure games are using my GPU (RTX 5060), and nvtop reports that it's running at 2000+MHz, so I don't understand why it's running so terribly. I've tested with CS2 and Subnautica, they're exclusively using my 5060, and my laptop doesn't seem to get very hot or loud like it usually would, almost as if it's in some kind of battery saving mode, despite being plugged in and setting the power mode to performance in KDE's system settings. I thought maybe it could be because I had set its power mode to be lower, but changing it to turbo in windows and then booting CachyOS again didn't fix it. What can I try to fix the issue?

im on CachyOS KDE and i installed vesktop through flatpak. i wanna have my games show up on discord whenever i play but i don't see any setting for it. linux-native games (like beamng) show up actually, but if i play a windows game through bottles, it doesn't show up. what can i do?

alguien a podido jugar delta force en linux? en protondb vi muchos que decian que se podia jugar actualizando la carpeta win64 del anticheat y otros decian que cambiando el anticheat al de strinova, usan ge_proton10-15. pero no ponian links para bajar la carpeta y el anticheat ni nada entonces no se que hacer si alguien los tiene y seria tan amable de pasar el link

I’m running the latest Pop_OS for nvidia, made the switch three days ago. So at first I thought it was just weird correlation and that my internet just happened to die at the exact moment that I tried connecting to a Dota game (running native). But it’s not, trying to connect is what causes the internet to completely disconnect for ~20 seconds even though at no point the system indicates that Wi-Fi was disconnected. I can run the game, browse cosmetics, change settings etc., everything fully online. But whenever I try to connect to a match I just found or spectate a game from the client, my internet dies system wide (not just steam and Dota, everything).

I've been trying to figure this out for a very long time. I even got ghosted on the NVIDIA Linux Dev Forum. Before resorting to swapping my NVIDIA card for AMD or something, I figured I would see if anyone in this community could help me out.

Every day at random intervals, my 5070 Ti will drop the video signal and blast its fans, which requires me to hard reboot my PC. The most relevant log message I can find is “Xid 79: The GPU has fallen off the bus”. It does not depend on load or temperature.

I do not think it is a hardware issue since they are all brand new components in a custom PC, and I have reseated the GPU a couple times. Unless, perhaps, I received faulty or incompatible hardware, which is, sadly, not under warranty. Also, I have already tried disabling pcie_aspm in my kernel cmdline. I can’t disable nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware since the 50** series requires the open drivers, which require GSP.

This seems like a pretty cryptic and low-level problem, and I am not familiar with really low-level debugging, so can someone help me determine if this is a hardware problem, or if it is a driver bug, kernel misconfiguration, or something else. If it is a hardware problem, that will really suck, so I want to know for sure.

I tried to attach the output of nvidia-bug-report.sh here. It contains full log dumps and many other helpful diagnostic command outputs. But here is my system info:

• Gentoo Linux 6.12.58 running Wayland with nvidia-open 580.126.09 drivers
• RTX 5070 Ti (ZOTAC Solid SFF OC)
• Corsair 750W Platinum PSU
• ASRock B650I Lightning WIFI Motherboard
• AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU

Im playing on fedora and tyranny the crpg crashes on launch, Im using hero launcher, is it just a problem with hero launcher ? all my games on steam with proton seem to work. this problem didnt occur on other distros like kubuntu, but I got tired of snaps.

Managed to play around 4 hours of it but over the last few weeks, each time I click the play button on Steam, the system goes Launching, then Sycronising to cloud before then reverting back to the play button.

I have tried different versions of proton with no luck, same issues, any pointers on where to look to resolve this?

I have watched videos of others playing Star Wars Outlaws, and they seem to have some frame time inconsistency, but I am going from solid 100 (no FG) to 15-30 for 5-15 seconds on reaching a new area or entering a world. It comes accross like shader caching because once it clears up it seems smooth. I am not sure why my shader cache is not persistent between launches. I have installed the Ubi client via steam with protonGE, running it then with either GE or experimental get the same long stutter patterns and is quite ruinous to the experience. I can't find others online displaying the same issues, nor did anyone especially mention this on protonDB. Any advice? If it is related to cache, any way to make it persistent? AMD 7000*, fedora

My gf is trying to get SA Mod Manager to work on her Steam Deck in gaming mode but it won't work in gaming mode specifically for some reason. It works in desktop mode fine but the game crashes instantly when ran from there. It wants her to download the .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.21 but she has done it multiple times with multiple different exe's and versions in both desktop mode and gaming mode.

On Windows I'm able to use a Hwinfo64 plugin for my Stream Deck to monitor my RAM/Ryzen CPU (usage and temps)/Nvidia 3090 GPU (VRAM usage and temps).

On Linux however, the closest I've found which I can get to work for any Stream Deck server alternative, including Open Deck, is monitoring CPU and RAM usage.

Does anyone know of any working plugins on Linux which can go further and also monitor my CPU temps and my Nvidia GPU like I can on Windows?

Thinking of installing Lutris so I can play Cyberpunk 2077 again. I've had success using the Proton FSR4 upgrade command on Steam games in launch options.

I was wondering how/if it works on games launched using Lutris without using Optiscaler? I had a little look on Google, but there doesn't seem to be much documentation.
