No game can detect my USB microphone or its output.
I am on latest version of Ubuntu (however id like to switch), I am using proton experimental on native steam. my usb microphone input appears as KT usb audio, I use a razer blackshark headset connected to USB C dongle. discord can detect and use my microphone but games cannot, including deadlock, overwatch 2, kletka, repo, lethal company, and peak
Fixes i've triedd, new dongles, USB a and c dongles, new headphones, trying every input device listed nothing seems to work
thank you in advanced

A game that worked perfectly fine for the first like 2 hours can't access the game server from any device in my house.
I recently found a game called different strokes on steam it's a game where you draw images or edit other peoples images thus it needs to load these images. I played it for about 2 hours over 2 days and really liked and was even planning on buying the dlc for it.
Then I go to open it another day and the paintings don't load and I can't log into the game server trough the game.
The games discord has a common issues channel where there was an issue listed similiar to mine about how some ISPs block the website behind the game differentstrokes.xyz . Now I checked in every way I could if I was able to reach the site by opening it in a browser, pinging it, tarcing the ip route and even pinging it from my router. All of these worked just fine.
I tried asking for help through the means provided by them but even the dev is confused as to what is going on.
I tried differnet proton versions. I tried 2 other devices(my steamdeck and a family memberes laptop who also uses linux) which also had the same problem.
I even tried to look at network requests on my computer using wireshark but I'm either not smart enough to understand that or there really was nothing out of the ordinary. I also tried running steam from the terminal but I didn't get any errors in there nor anything else that looked related.
I use arch linux with the zen kernel and the latest proton ge version I am also using the steam version of the game(it's also on itch.io).
I genuienly have no idea what the problem could be anymore as it was working just fine at first the game didn't get updated betwen my playsessions and it can't even be a problem with some update to some part of arch as I got the same problem on my deck. I can only think it has to do with my network but I can reach the website just fine so I have no clue what to try anymore.
Any ideas as to what the hell is going on here are aprriciated.

Has anybody got Shazbot Mod Manager for Total War to work on Linux?
Been trying to find a solution to get the standalone .exe Shazbot Mod Manager to run on Linux (for Total War Warhammer III using Proton).
https://github.com/Shazbot/WH3-Mod-Manager
I have tried ProtonTricks, which was suggested in another older reddit post but without luck, after selecting what game to run the mod manager with in protontricks nothing happens
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1mmkh59/what_are_the_methods_to_make_nonlinux_mod_manager/
I moved on to trying Steam Tinker Launch using info from this very helpful video, however the example given was to install an exe rather than run a standalone, and having tweaked it I still cant get the exe to run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnAG1LLBH1Q
I have also tried adding it as a not steam game with proton experimental to try and get it just to run (even if it can't launch TWW3 after) but this also does nothing.
Last step that I have not yet tried was going to be bottles, but before I try I wanted to ask if anyone had managed to get this working.
I am running Mint.
I am aware of the CA's own mod manager which has improved, but can't save profiles and a few other features that I liked on Shazbot's MM
Not sure if this is an impossible task, or I am missing something really simple.
Any advice or tips would be welcome.

Having issues with Conan Exiles Enhanced? Read here
The issue is that after updating Conan Exiles to the Enhanced version, it crashes every time I open it, no matter what Proton version is using.
Fortunately, there's a workaround for that. Simply install vcrun2022 using Protontricks:
protontricks 440900 vcrun2022
And just hit next when it displays, like any Windows installation.
It works for me now.

I made a CLI tool to automatically download steamgrid assets for your non-steam games.
check it out its open source: https://github.com/kaezrr/steamer and not vibe coded.
I made this for myself and decided to share it for others to use as they see fit.
I play a lot of non-steam games and got pretty tired of lutris and herioc games launcher causing issues. Steam actually works perfect for non steam games nowadays, many games I couldnt boot on lutris and heroic just ended up working fine when added as a non-steam game.
But I also kinda wanted it too look good, so I just took the opportunity to make a quick rust tool that automates adding icons, headers, logos and all for your non-steam shortcuts. It works pretty well, and could easily be extended to work with regular steam games if people want to.
there might exist a better tool but well I am a programmer and it seemed like a good programming exercise (no LLMs used, other than to reverse engineer steams proprietary VDF format).
Cheers

Persona 5 Royal very low FPS but not in loading screen
In the loading screens, or the pause menu, or when opening the map I get a stable max capped FPS of 120
In the main menu, or in game I get a max of 20-40
I have tried proton experimental, 10, 9, hotfix, and GE 10
I can't seem to get anything to work with this although on protonDB it's platinum and says this game runs fine on linux
Persona 3 Reload runs perfectly fine with no issues
CPU Brand: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics Arch Linux (64 bit) Kernel Name: Linux Kernel Version: 6.19.14-zen1-1-zen (but issue persist on normal linux)
Driver: NVIDIA Corporation NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2
16GB RAM
Using Hyprland but issue also persists on XFCE4
Game runs a lot better on my windows installation

Using Arch Linux as primary OS but also play games in (Windows)
I’ve been using Arch Linux as my primary OS for a long time now, but I still keep Windows around mainly for gaming.
I mostly play story-driven, realistic, open-world, and simulation games (for example: Assetto Corsa, FPV Logic, etc. etc.), and I’d really like to avoid switching to Windows every time I want to play. So far I’ve tried Lutris Wine Proton stuff, but compatibility has been pretty hit-or-miss, and a lot of games just don’t run properly.
I haven’t tried Steam yet, but I’ve heard mixed things—especially about NVIDIA GPUs not working as well on Linux for gaming.
**My setup:**
Laptop: Dell G15 5530, CPU: i5-13450
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB
RAM: 16GB DDR5
Storage: 512GB SSD
Any suggestions or experiences would be really helpful.

Problems with The Binding of Isaac in Linux Ubuntu 24.04
I used proton 9.04 to open the game, it worked, but if I play with a gamepad it doesn't recognize some imputs, like two buttons are the "x" in the game, any solution? I use the Steam deb version.

Trouble with The Witcher 3 on Linux Mint
hello, new linux user here and i've run into this error when trying to launch The Witcher 3 and haven't been able to find a solution anywhere. (Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon)
this is the output i get for inxi -G
Graphics:
Device-1: NVIDIA TU116 [GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER] driver: nvidia v: 595.58.03

so i presume the trouble is likely that the game just isn't detecting opengl. i have 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool' enabled using Proton 9.0-4. other steam games work fine so far, Witcher 3 is the first one i've had a problem with.
some forum pages i saw talked about installing Wine, but from what i understand, Proton already has some features of Wine integrated with it? would separately installing Wine potentially help?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
