Hey hey People,

pretty new Linux user here.

I am kinda lost with setting up my gamepad As mentioned in the thread I am not able to set up my game controller. The dongle as well as the gamepad is shown in the USB list. But steam won't show the controller and neither it's shown in the game controller task in the global settings. I tried Bluetooth as well and I could connect the device, but there was some kind of error, that CachyOS couldn't setup the Bluetooth Controller.. now it's not found again...

I updated the firmware of the dongle and controller at my old windows partition. (Dont roast me, as I mentioned I am a Linux noob)

My XBox Controller with dongle works just fine and everything is shown as expected..

It sound kinda strange for me but I am confident that there is a workaround ;)

the games i play is roblox and minecraft
i know that minecraft would start fine couse its supported for linux and for roblox i am gonna try sober

the only thing i dont understands is the file explorer
i want to be more like windows
that the only thing i am used to
i can get used to anything else in bazzite
if there no way to
i just be like that no can do right
currently i am on windows 11
my pc is a potato and i thought i switch to linux couse it would be smoother and more safer
i heard that microsoft save ours data and sale them

Ik this is just Linux, but people here seem far more technical than I am, maybe once of you guys know how to deal with this.

While I was cleaning the other day I found my box of CD-R games from the XP - 95 days and want to play them but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do to get them running with Proton on Kubuntu. Would I have to rip the games and copy everything to my machine first or is there some kind of command that I have to use since a few required the disc to be present to run.

Not sure if its only on ProtonGE or not. Ive been playing arc raiders and fsr4 has been a life saver. i tried it on experimental and it seems to work. just making sure its not a placebo.

I'm trying to get goverlay to work on my games installed over lutris so i can easily use optiscaler.

I got it working easily with Steam and Heroic lauvher games but the life of me I can't get it working in lutris.

I'm mostly asking about the fgmod command, where should I put it?

I did my fair share of googling and ai chatting but I couldn't figure if out.

How actually difficult would it be to add? All games are using a msgamelaunch:// URI, shortcuts do
msgamelaunch://shortcutLaunch/?ProductId=[PRODUCTID]&Exe=[APPID From appxmanifest.xml in game directory],
all games have a gamelaunchhelper.exe which when launched also call the same URI, but with different parametres,
msgamelaunch://exeLaunch?PackageFullName=[Full package name with version and architecture]&Exe=gamelaunchhelper.exe&CV=[Some string] .
The URI is handled by Microsoft.GamingApp, or specifically by XboxPcTray.exe component. There are also XboxPcAppCE.exe, XboxPcAppFT.exe and XboxPcAppAdminServer.exe. One of them should also be doing a DRM check, i think? I guess it's something very light (maybe just a server-side license check?). I know there is a project called ProtonGDK, but it seems to be made specifically for running Minecraft Bedrock Edition, and has not yet implemented a way to log in to a microsoft account. How difficult would it be to make something like Heroic Launcher but for Xbox app? This seems a lot more realistic than adding full-on UWP support for Wine/Proton...

Using Kubuntu 25.10

Just finished setting up my second pc build (first time in 10 years making one)
This is my first time using any linux and im going in basically blind and surviving on youtube videos for setup. Everything so far is working great but as per the title steam only loads if i use the command console. After that it works fine. However, if I boot up a game then the basic steam app does open correctly. Its not a huge deal but it is a little bit annoying. Is there any way to fix it?

Hi, everyone. rooftops are on promotion on steam, so i bought it. But, when i started this happening. This is the tutorial.

I on a laptop Mint 22.3 zena. Dont have any video card and compatibility with hotfix right now. I tested others compatibilitys, but caused the same thing. The game runs smoothly, but has this yellow shader. Someone know how to fix?
