I used the game launcher version Lutris script: https://lutris.net/games/need-for-speed-world/
Which downloads version 2.2.2 and had to update it to 2.2.4.
Used winetricks to install vcrun2022( otherwise the game will crash with missing call in msvcp140.dll)
But once the game launches and if I check task manager, at first it shows it's using 60MB of RAM for 1min after which it just goes to 0 and stays there even after 30mins.

Tried:
Wine 10.8
Proton-GE 9-27
Proton-GE 8-26

Any idea?

Running Fedora Workstation 42.

While playing Minecraft, my cursor is not locked to the center of my screen. If I am in windowed mode, the cursor will exit the Minecraft window. Additionally, when I open any menu in the game, my cursor is not in the center of the screen where it should be. Help!

Hello everybody!

I recently started using Linux Mint and started setting up a couple of my favourite games via Lutris, I do not have much experience with setting up games under Linux yet.

When I attempted to install Might and Magic 7 via the GoG Connection function it went through the installation process normally (I used the Wine + GOG option in the selection from the launcher). When I then attempt to boot the game, it doesn't launch and throw me the error box "Some files are missing, Please Reinstall"
I did attempt to reinstall the game then, but it gave me the same error message.

Does anyone have a similar issue or a potential way to fix this? Cheers in advance.

I'm having some trouble playing halo infinite. I just installed the game for the first time today. I wanted to play some firefight, so I find a lobby and the map loads, then I get a message telling me that Easy Anti Cheat has removed me from the game.

Is this a new thing? From what I've heard Infinite should run just fine on Linux. Is there something I need to do to get the game working in multiplayer?

I'd really like to play as I played the offline tutorial against bots and had a blast.

this only happens when I use the appimage, when I install the flatpak version it show an icon. then why don't I just use the flatpak version? well... at least on void linux the flatpak version of sunshine have some visual issues, and we don't have void package for sunshine here, even in the void-src (our version of the aur), so my only option is the appimage version

I have tried using programs like gear lever and at least now an icon appears on the wofi menu, but still doesn't appear on the status bar. is there a way to fix this?

Title, i installed starcraft 1 and i only get a black screen, then the game closes. It opens correctly on x11 kde.

Any idea? (I installed it ysing vanilla wine)

• Innon 32m2v HDR monitor (HDR works in Windows)
• GPU: RTX 4080 Super
• Driver: NVIDIA 570 proprietary
• Using Steam with Proton GE 10_3 )

• Installed VK_HDR_layer from Zamundaaa's GitHub but not sure if it's working properly

Im considering upgrading my old GPU (1060 6GB) with either a 5070 TI or a 9070 XT, since I can get them for roughly the same price. My main questions is regarding which GPU ist better supported in either Fedora 42 or Ubuntu 24.04/25.04. I would love to go with Wayland, but experienced quite a lot of issues with my old GPU. Performance-wise the GPUs should be comparable, but I've ready that way more games support DLSS4 compared to FSR4. However I dont really know if those features are really supported on those platforms. Cuda/Deep Learning might be useful, but are Not an deciding factor. I would love to hear aome additional opinions in which GPU to choose and some pros/cons I have not considered. Thanks!

So I just built a new computer just for Linux gaming. Got ryzen 7 9700x, 64gb ram, rx 7600xt. Is there anything I should do to make sure games works? I use ubuntu. So far I’ve just installed steam but haven’t had time to try games.

I wanna download torrents from fitgirl but I’m not sure what’s the best download manager. I used to use Free Download Manager and I tried downloading FDM on Linux Mint but it won’t start. If anyone can help me fix this issue or suggest a better alternative I’d be thankful.

Hi can I get some help choosing a Linux to try? I have no ideea regarding programming or tweaking files, I only recently learned how to reinstal a windows 10, thing is after the support for it is done I wanna move to Linux but there is another problem, I have a Nvidia GPU(4070ti) and from what I heard they have issues regarding drivers but someone says you can tweak something to fix that, etc. My question is this: is there a super beginner friendly version that is compatible with nvdivia GPUs and handles games as well as windows 10? I am trying to run vulkaninfo | grep EOTF on my Kubuntu 24.04 system on Plasma(wayland) but it returns empty. Does this mean HDR won't work on my system. THe HDR on my display settings works. If I turn off in my monitor's, screen is washed, otherwise bright. I guess this means HDR is working in the system level.

My specs:
RTX4080
Innocn 32M2V 4k @ 144Hz Monitor
