Hello, let me run it down. Fadora keep plasma 42, all updated on latest (15/05/2025). The game opens with a error (see image). Only this game. TRIED: proton ge flatpak, experimental, hot fix, 9.0-4 and steam tinker. Also added launch commands for steamdeck and stuff and nothing works. Any ideas. Ps this is the 3rd install of the game so not a file problem. System info: ryzen 7 9800x3d, 32gb ddr5 ram, and 9070 it, m.2 storage

this is with no launch options

my launch options are [WINEDLLOVVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" mangohud gamemoderun %command% -high] {WINEDLLOVVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" is for ReShade and is something i've used forever}
it does not work without these launch options; it does not run when using [LD_PRELOAD=""]
it does not run using ProtonGE 9-27 [i am using Proton 10 here which is the same i was using prior]
the game is Dead By Daylight and it has ran perfectly fine until today

other games are booting and running with no issue

Hi. Just upgraded from an RX6600 to an RX7800XT and seeing all kinds of strange behaviour.

On Endeavor OS (Arch) with Kernel 6.14.6 and Mesa 25.0.5-1, Wayland

Steam sometimes offers me only 2194x1234 as a resolution.

Worse than that, many games have texture and lighting issues. E.g. Elden Ring has coloured squares around the light sources and everything looks like 4 bit shading. Same with Dark Souls 3 and Baldurs Gate 3.

Cyberpunk looks great and runs fine though. I'm targetting 1440p/60 for most games with this card.

Any pointers what I should look at? Is the card fubar, or is it versions of something?

Not Linux-specific, but how do I unpack multi-part GOG installers? innoextract and innounp only work on single-part installers no matter what and gog_unrar.py seems to be broken for some reason.

Intro:
I recently tried playing HSR on Linux Mint and had no success in finding a way to play the game without any stuttering issues. After taking a snoop around the Discord dedicated to the third party launchers on Linux i saw some fixed the issue by using umu launcher which sadly didn't work for me. So I tinkered a lot and found out a way that worked for my setup (listed below). This is also not meant to be a professional guide. So if I got anything wrong please correct me in the comments below.

My Setup:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
• GPU: GeForce RTX 3060
• Driver: nvidia-driver-570-open
• OS: Linux Mint

Pre-Installation Steps:

1. Download Lutris and the Honkers Railway Launcher in their respective Flatpak variants
2. If you haven't already, download Wine- and Protontricks aswell
3. Follow all the Honkers Railway Setup steps

Wineprefix Setup Steps:

1. Open Winetricks and select "Create new wineprefix" and hit Ok
2. For Architecture select 64bits and choose a name of your liking
3. Now click "Install a Windows DLL or component"
4. Select the component you want this wineprefix to have. I recommend atleast installing "vcrun2020" and "d3dcompiler_47"
5. Optionally you can also download DXVK here
6. After you are done choosing hit Ok again

Lutris Setup Steps:

1. Launch Lutris and add a game manually
2. For the Name and Sort name type in: Honkai: Star Rail (you can also add the release date if you want)
3. For Runner, choose Wine
4. Now go to Runner options and select the default Lutris Wine version (for me that would be "wine-ge-8-26-x89_64"
5. Now go to Game options and add the following, after you are done hit save

• Executable: Select the path to your HSR installation and add /patch/jadeite.exe
• Arguments: Write out the wine path of your StarRail.exe (If the game is located outside your wine prefix your path should look like something like this "Z:/path-to-game/StarRail.exe", if the game is located within the wineprefix "C:/path-to-game/StarRail.exe" including the quotation marks. Outside the quotation marks add "--" without the quotation marks)
• Working Directory: Chose your HSR installation folder
• Wine prefix: Path to your wineprefix
• Prefix Architecture: 64bit

Post-Installation Steps (optional):

1. See if you can run the game by pressing play in Lutris if it launches you did everything correctly, follow along to enable 120FPS
2. If opened close the game.
3. In Lutris when selecting the Game there should be a Wine symbol with an uparrow next to it press that uparrow button.
4. Select "wine registry"
5. Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Cognosphere/Star Rail/ and sort by name
6. Find a REG_BINARY called GraphicsSettings_Model_h(bunchofnumbers)
7. Open it and you will see HEX on the left and Text on the right. Unlike in windows you cannot edit the text directly.
8. The first line of HEX should be "7B 22 46 50 53 22 3A 36 30"
9. Erase it and replace it with "7B 22 46 50 53 22 3A 31 32 30"
10. Hit ok and close the registry
11. Launch the game again and enjoy 120FPS.

Afterword:

Hopefully this helped some people who had problems using the Honkers Railway Launcher and were getting a bad performance.

The LOD generation will complete, but there will only be textures and not meshes in the output folder. Looking at the SSELODgen_log.txt I see this for every worldspace.

Terrain LOD meshes generation error: LODGen process error, exit code C0000135

I searched everywhere online for this error, but there's nothing about Lodgen on Linux.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get it working properly on Linux? This is the last thing I need to ditch Windows entirely.

I also installed xact xact_x64 d3dcompiler_47 d3dx11_43 d3dcompiler_43 vcrun2022 dotnet40 dotnet6 dotnet7 via protontricks to the prefix and am running xLODGen through MO2 that was installed with Rockerbacon's MO2 Install Script.

GPU in the cponkyrc is now hwmon (3->2), in sensors | awk 'NR==(2->1)' and /sys/class/drm/card(0->1) and my Mainboard is hwmon 4->2, etc.

Hey guys, Arch user with a bit of OCD here. I prefer keeping my system clean without any leftover files and i have a doubt. Whenever i uninstall something with the sudo pacman -Rs Xsoftware, are there any leftover files from the software that doesn't get removed?(Like the registry entries from windows and empty folders where the software i installed used to be) If yes, how can I find and delete them.
