Having issues running Fortnite on my virtual machine
I want to run Fortnite off my virtual machine, I only need it to run at the lowest settings, I won't be using it to play the game, just need it to be able to access the lobby. Here are the specs of the VM: https://postimg.cc/G4kgy2V7
I am having issues with this, I believe I have given it the right resources to be able to run, but every time I boot up the game it takes a very long time to load and inevitably crashes
I believe the issue is RAM usage. Despite being allocated 8GB of RAM, task manager tells me that the virtual machine is only using 80MB. What exactly is the problem here and how can I solve it?

Battle.net not running under Bottles anymore
I have been playing Hearthstone lately using Bottles, Battle.net was super easy to set up thanks to the Install Programs feature, and the only thing I had to do was to change the runner from Soda to Wine GE Proton 26.
For some strange reason, Battle.net wont run anymore. It worked just fine yesterday. I have tried a earlier version of the Wine GE runner (25) and creating a new bottle to see if reinstalling would fix the issue (it didn't)
I'm running an Ubuntu based distro and the rest of my Bottles open just fine. I have tried updating everything just in case there has been a hotfix or a small update that broke compatibility but no luck so far, any tips?

Steam built in file-manager, blank
So this happpens when i try to add a path for steam or specify where to install a game. It does not open dolphin file manager and instead pops up a steam file manager window that is blank. I have set dolphin as default for inode/directories but perhaps steam doesnt use inode/directories mimetype? Or any mimetype at all? I really need to add a drive since that i where all my previous installed games are located. Any ideas? Thx

Beware of WogRAT: The Malware That Hides in Plain Sight
Cybersecurity Alert: A new malware, WogRAT, is exploiting the online notepad service ‘aNotepad’ to store and retrieve malicious code. This stealthy approach allows it to bypass traditional security measures, posing a significant threat to both Windows and Linux systems. It’s crucial for security professionals to adapt their defenses against such sophisticated tactics. Stay vigilant! 1

Looks like applications can't access GPU info completely (shared from r/pop_os)
Hello fellow poppers
Setup:
MB - ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi
CPU - Ryzen7 7800X3D
GPU - Radeon RX 7800XTX
I'm also using Mesa
Problem:
On CoolerControl (which displays the full CPU name) my graphics card shows up as "amdgpu"
MangoHUD seems to read nothing from the GPU
I can play games fine on ultra settings and everything seems to work flawlessly
Except practical info from the graphics card
Any ideas of what could be the cause?

I see 8bitdo recommended here a lot for Linux compatibility, but the company itself says it doesn't support Linux
The hardware is nice, but if anyone is using the latest BlueZ Bluetooth stack, you will have come across this bug that prevents you from connecting to 8bitdo hardware via Bluetooth. That's because BlueZ is addressing this CVE by disabling older insecure connection features that 8bitdo's firmware relies on.
I emailed 8bitdo about this, since they seem to release firmware updates for their hardware pretty regularly.
However, this is their reply:
Hi there,
The fix for this Bluetooth security bug prevents 8bitdo Ultimate C Bluetooth controllers from pairing via Bluetooth on Linux. See this issue on the BlueZ issue tracker.
Using BlueZ 5.70.0 or newer breaks compatibility with 8bitdo's Bluetooth controllers, as they rely on insecure pairing/connection methods that are now disabled by default.
Eventually, this will also affect Steam Deck users once Steam upgrades its BlueZ version.
x
Hi x,
Thank you for reaching us out!
The Ultimate C Bluetooth Controller is not compatible with Linux as it was originally made for Nintendo Switch ONLY.
kind regards,
8BitDo Support
8bitdo emphatically does not support Linux, and it does not seem like they intend to in the future. For that reason, I cannot recommend their hardware for Linux users specifically.

A guide to fixing the Steam achievements not working on the Linux-native version of CrossCode.
Zerotier, i can join games but i can't host.
Recently, I started playing some old games with friends, and all of those old games use LAN. Most of my friends either have a crappy computer or are just lazy, so i am the one who needs to host the servers, but i am having issues with zerotier, my friends can't connect to my servers, they don't even show on LAN servers on games, but i can join their games just fine (they use windows).
I tried Source games (No More Room in Hell, Counter-Strike) and Minecraft, but both don't work. In Minecraft, it shows the default 127.0.0.0 LAN IP, and it seems like the games can't connect to ZeroTier.
I tried reinstalling ZeroTier, restarting it, disabling my firewall, and even uninstalling my firewall, but nothing works. Games simply don't seem to connect to ZeroTier, making it impossible for me to host games.
