DXVK doesn't work for me on Proton 8+
I have a few games that I play such as Skyrim but Proton 8 and above don't launch at all unless I use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 in launch options. My distro is Fedora 42.
Solution: Use Proton Sarek

Bad performance on fedora 42 nvidia 4060egpu
I have been using arch linux with windows dual boot. Some games worked fine on Linux but I mostly used windows for gaming. I switched to fedora after an update broke the os and couldn't load the network manager. So I switched fully to fedora as it's a more stable distro and recommended by most. But the gaming performance is way worse than windows. I used the akmod drivers since the install script from Nvidia fails to load the kernel modules.
Games won't run above 40 fps for some bizarre reason even when dlss is cranked all the way. I see people getting good performance on Wayland but it's unplayable. Stutters, half the fps compared to xorg. Ntsync, even though it's supported by the kernel doesn't work.
I am running the latest Nvidia drivers, with proton-ge 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

LB and RB button
Recent arch Linux install. New PS5 wireless edge controller. Everything works except the RB and LB. There's no way I can tell if they're doing anything. The UI only shows the buttons on the front of the controller. Is there something I need to change to make it recognize the two it's missing?

Discord and Discord Alternatives - How do you run discord (Browser,Other)?
i have tried some different Discord Clients, and ways of running Discord.
I have found out, that discord have made some questionable moves when it comes to DIV stacking and many filters shadow's and blurs.
it run's not so well on many clients. That uses the web version of discord.
While i do have some Custom CSS override to turn off some of the Blur filters for backgrounds and other things it just runs not great TM. (most don't have proper hardware acceleration).
and when it comes to screen share i have to turn off hardware acceleration to get good clean quality.
i were wondering what people do to run Discord on Linux.
if there is anything i can do, best version i have tried so far is ungoogled chromium with hardware acceleration, but this leaves some volume control and options for shareing missing.
Thanks for your input. im aware that Thridparty Discord clients might break TOS.

Genshin was working yesterday, but it’s not working today.
Hello, I'm using TKG to run Genshin Impact (ProtonGE has severe freezing issues with Genshin on my PC for some unknown reason). Everything was working fine, but since today, I'm being sent straight back to the Genshin launcher when using TKG. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thank you for your feedback.

MCPE Launcher and Controller input.
I am trying to get bedrock to run on my laptop, so i can play on the private server with my kids.
I can run the game fine, but when i try to use my controller (8bit sn30 pro) the analog sticks miss inputs. like after i release the stick, the character will keep moving. Like trying to build a house drunk.
I don't remember the issue when using the AppImage to run it, but thats outdated.
I have tried disabling vsync in options.txt (~/.var/app/io.mrarm.mcpelauncher/data/mcpelauncher/games/com.mojang/minecraftpe/options.txt)
tried overrides in flatpak that supposedly let it directly access the controller out of sandbox.
Have any of you gotten it to work? Or have some ideas.

How to attach a Xbox Controller (Series X/S) through Bluetooth on Linux Mint?
Special Edition - Sky Cipher - Series X/S
That's the model. I've used this wirelessly for 3 months on Windows.
Bluetooth does not detect the controller.
I have tried xpadneo
After "[bluetooth]# pair <MAC>"
I get an error that says "Device <MAC> not available"
It shows it on the list but constantly says not available. Yes I have the controller searching.
I've altered the bluetooth settings file to turn on BLE (Bluetooth low energy)
Basically what I am asking, does anyone here have a new model Xbox Controller (Series X/S) controller and have they set it up for Bluetooth play? If so can you share how?
Thanks!

I want to make the switch but what is the status of Virtual Display and thermal?
Hi guys.
I really want to make the switch over the year I start to abandon all closed software to move to only apps that have linux version, yes even graphic software.
But I'm holding the switch for two reason (eh no I hate dual boot I'd like a drastic switch).
- I use a lot virtual display in Apollo because I have an ultra-wide screen on desktop but after work I play on my living room through a steam link, is this feature available on linux?
- how is the support for streaming? (consider, I'm full AMD).
- Thermals. Windows has a good thermal optimization, I set up my CPU to be undervolted with PBO2, but I have a very old memory were linux was always running hotter then windows, is still something like this? and most of all, is it possible to undervolt AMD GPU as I currently do on Adrenalin software?
- OT QQ: how reliable is wine hq for software medals? Because I have to decide if moving earlier and use Sketcup (3D software) with wine or wait that I finish building my project for my new house, before moving to linux
Thank you so much
