Differing performance between Arch distros.
So I've been using Endeavor OS for around a month, and just recently I want to give pure Arch a shot. I consider myself fairly technical and I really enjoyed the vanilla Arch install process. Something I did notice is for example, on Endeavor OS, Persona 3 reload runs at 120fps locked with all settings maxed except for RT and resolution scale set for 125%. On the other hand, I get around 80-110 fps on vanilla Arch with the same settings. The main difference I know between the two distros is that I used the standard kernal with Endeavor and I'm using the Zen kernal with Arch, can't figure out the discrepancy though.

Bricked GPU while playing Proton on Linux Mint
Two years ago, I made my own PC and decided to use Linux Mint as the operating system. It had been going great until recently. While playing No Man's Sky, through Proton, the computer would randomly crash completely. I'm talking screen goes black, and all the fans start spinning at Max speed. The computer wouldn't respond to anything, and I had to hold the power button to turn it off. When I restarted the computer, it didn't give me any error message, so I just ignored it and went back to playing. However, after four crashes spread over 3 weeks, the computer simply stopped turning on. Pressing the power button did nothing until I removed the Nvidia GPU, at which point it would then start with a black screen. After dropping it off at the repair shop, the technician told me that the GPU was effectively bricked, and he attributed it to being a water-cooled GPU.
What I want to know is, is this really an issue with water-cooled GPUs? The technician was very headstrong about it being a motherboard issue when I dropped it off, and refused to listen to even a brief description of what the issue was; his attitude made it so I find myself having trouble trusting his disdain for water-cooled GPUs.
If it is an issue with water-cooled GPUs, is it worth cashing in on the warranty to get it replaced, or would that just be pushing the problem down the road for another crash in the future?
Finally, are there any simple steps I can take to prevent this in the future? All the crashes happened whilst running Linux Mint, playing specifically No Man's Sky through Proton. Is it just bad luck that they were all the same game, or is it more a consequence of NMS being the only graphically intensive game that I have played while the GPU was already having issues that I was unaware of? Is that even possible?
Pre-Posting Edit: While tracking down the links below, I realized that the GPU isn't even water-cooled, at least I'm pretty sure. He might have been referring to the AIO cooler attached to the CPU? But that's not really relevant to a GPU issue, is it?

Kubuntu paying with high FPS but feels like its running below 30FPS
Hi, I currently have a problem when playing Fallout 4 in Kubuntu. When playing, it feels very laggy, like I'm playing at 30 fps below but the fps in mangohud are actually 60. It only happens on the laptop display, but when I play on an external monitor, it seems fine. But there is another problem with playing on an external monitor: the resolution dropdown on the Fallout launcher doesn't have any value. So I have to change the resolution in the config file. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I tried disabling the compositor before playing, but it didn't change anything. I haven't tried it on other games, but it's probably the same. Debian KDE doesn't have this problem just after I switch to Kubuntu. I also tried switching from Wayland to X11 and changing drivers, but it was still the same.
My laptop is Thinkbook 14 g4+ IAP
GPU : Intel XE / RTX 2050
Driver : Nvidia 545 Proprietory

Reshade not working for Fallout NV
I tried downloading reshade linux version using the console, but after it installed it doesn’t show up in fallout. However, if I download the installer and do it that way it works but says “Error loading some effects”, with a list of effects saying “failed to compile” and any presets don’t work. I don’t really know how to fix this. New Vegas launches through mod organiser 2 as I also have mods installed so does that have something to do with the linux reshade not working?

Steam is only opening to a black screen. I have updated steam and Linux, switched back and forth between the different betas on steam, entered STEAM-UPDATE, and nothing seems to work. Everything is updated, this all happened after I got a message...
Can I get haptics working for the Luna controller over Bluetooth?
I recently bought an Amazon Luna controller for use over Bluetooth (I'm not going to buy into the cloud gaming ecosystem, just wanted a nice Bluetooth controller and this seemed to fit the bill). I've noticed that the haptics only function if I'm connected over USB (although the rest of the controller works fine over Bluetooth).
I pulled out my old Windows laptop and installed the official Luna controller drivers on it for testing. With that configuration, the Bluetooth haptics worked fine, so this seems to be a driver issue. Poking around in the kernel sources shows me that the Luna controller seems to be using an Xbox 360-compatible driver, although that might only be for USB connections.
Does anybody have any advice on how I can fix this? I'm happy to compile a custom kernel if I need to. I'm running openSUSE Tumbleweed if you need any distro info.

Drop of FPSs in Linux for games meant for Windows. How does it scale?
When gaming on Linux with games meant for Windows:
Is the FPS drop proportional to the game's load on the computer, or is it closer to a fixed amount?

Proton Performance Significantly Better After Computer Wakes Up From Suspend
Right after boot, running a game always seems to result in low performance. Game in question is Persona 5 Royal. FPS is extremely low, around 15 - 20, with extremely high latency around 40ms. After waking up the computer from suspend however, FPS is basically the same as if I were playing the game on windows, at ~120 and at max 10ms of latency.
I've spent a while looking up and trying fixes (killing the compositor, adding custom launch options, using gamemode, changing the proton version) but for some reason only suspending and waking back up fixes the issue.
From what I can tell, the only difference is the amount of GPU usage. Before suspending, GPU usage max is around 30%, averaging around 25%, but after suspending, GPU usage is significantly higher averaging around 70 - 80%, so I'm assuming the issue is something to do with power usage, but I have no idea what to check or change to fix it, even after reading through the arch wiki.

Gta5 installed through lutris Steamdeck
I’m having trouble getting it to run through gaming mode but on desktop it runs just fine, I’ve tried I’ve tried to copy the path .../grand-theft-auto-v/drive_c/Program Files/Rockstar Games/Launcher/Launcher.exe from lutris and adding that as a non-steam game to steam but when I do it opens the rockstar launcher no problem but it doesn’t detect that I have gta5 installed.
