Error with the Steam Family
I have been added to the Steam Family, I can see the game of the other members, but they can't see my games. I have War Thunder, Enlisted and some non-steam game. In the account settings they should see games, the single game is public, why they don't see them?

Potential high FPS but game feels choppy fix
I’ve noticed when playing games like Mortal Kombat or Tekken (where the FPS is capped to 60) that despite hitting 60 FPS, the game felt really choppy. It felt like it was running at 15–30 FPS. I did some research and couldn’t find anything, so I tried something myself and found a potential solution.
1) Install LACT and set it up
2) Enable AMD Overclock
3) Set Performance Level to Highest Clocks
That’s it. After I did that, the games were running smoothly because the clock speed wasn’t low anymore.
I hope this guide will help anyone who has faced this problem.

Dualsense - Haptic feedback partially working?
Hi folks, so I've spent like 4 hours yesterday to get my new dualsense controller correctly working with the intended features of adaptive triggers, haptic feedback in terms of audio and vibration and the touchpad.
The adaptive triggers seem to be working out of the box, while for the touchpad I had to disable the general touchpad function in KDE Plasma.
But I am still struggling with the audio and vibration.
So far I have tested three Sony Games: Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Spiderman: Remastered - These are the experience I had so far:
GoT - Swiping of Touchpad is working as intended after mentioned setting from above. Now the camera isn't moving anymore, because the game things I used a touchpad. Adaptive Triggers are also working.
But according to a friend when you swipe up the gamepad for the wind guidance, the controller should slightly vibrate like you'd feel the wind and if you play the flute (swiping to left) you should silently hear the flute - sadly nothing on my end.
I do have vibrations in the game, but let's call it "default vibration", also weird, when I am mounted and swipe down to bow, the game says it's not working and the controller slightly vibrates as a feedback.
Ratchet & Clank - So far I'd say the best experience, adaptive triggers work great, the vibration seems to be okay, you could even notice a difference between different weapons. But: After some online research you should be able to "half-press" the right trigger to only shoot one shell of a shotgun, and fully to shoot both, doesn't work for me. And another post claimed that there should definetely be music playing from the gamepad in different scenarions, for example while charging the "Pixalizer" - also not happening on my end.
Second But: I can hear a "click" from the controller when doing different stuff like jumping or opening the weapon wheel, definetely a sound, not a mechanical noise. So something does communicate with my controller.
Spiderman: Only tested it for a few minutes while swining through the city. Adaptive trigger work, but barely any vibration and no sound from the gamepad. Touchpad opens the menu.
In summary, the controller feedback seems to partially work, altough I am not sure that in all games only the "default" vibration works.
Now for the technical part and where I need help. Here's what I did so far:
- disabled steam input
- tried different Proton versions
- connection via USB
- updated my system
- updated the controller's firmware (currently Firmware: 10d0002 (type 3) Fw version: 262158 131082 10 )
- commented out the ps5 part in ALSA's USB-Audio.conf, so that the controller is being recognized as a 4 channel device (Source)
- Side note: Within the OS I can test all 4 "speakers" of the controller and when testing the both rear speakers the controller actually vibrates, see more in the edit of this post
- installed dualsensectl, confirmed audio state and volume there
- according to lsmod, the dualsense module is loaded
- I am on EndeavourOS (Wayland) with 6.18.22-1-lts kernel
- I am using a Razer Leviathan soundbar as primary device
- When using the controller as my primary output device, sound gets played normally, like YT or spotify or even the game itself
So I think the problem here is actually only the communication from the game to the controller, since the audio and vibration of the device actually works just fine within the OS. I hope someone can help me and prove that it was worth typing half a book. Thanks!

game loop
Solution to Arch randomly crashing with a Radeon Graphics Card [Bazzite black screen fix - Laptop Tested Only]
So I am dumping two bits of info into one post. Hopefully it can be helpful to people who are running into these problems.
Problem 1: Random computer crash/shutdown while playing modern'ish games.
Most of the games I have encountered this with run the unity/unreal engines. There's a specific version where it starts occurring, but I don't have it easily on hand.
Symptoms are painfully similar to temperature or memory issues. I have been dealing with this for around a year now. It has steadily gotten worse as time has gone by. I ran temp and memory tests to make sure they were healthy.
If you don't know how, a quick search can find the best tests out there. Do so to find the tests. Run the tests to verify it isn't hardware related.
Solution: Bazzite/Steam OS in game mode. [Probably solved via Gamescope and Big Picture mode]
I was actually looking to move my gaming over to a steam deck originally. It would handle the majority of my library without any changes/tweaks. That's when I found Bazzite.
I am not involved in their project.
Problem 2: Booting into game mode.
I think I was able to originally boot into game mode once or twice with a fresh install. I quickly found that didn't have the crashes.
What eventually happened was I couldn't boot into game mode. I just got a black screen.
So if you are here cause you switched to Bazzite but can't leave desktop mode (Which still has Problem 1's crashes btw). This is working for me, and reliably. I can only test my gaming laptop as it is the only platform with this problem.
Solution: Unplug everything. Mouse. Keyboard. Power. Headphones. Then use the 'Return to Gaming Mode' or reboot into gaming mode.
I have tested three reboots and ten or so "Return to Gaming Mode" runs and it works reliably everytime. Played games for the whole weekend that would normally crash my computer in ten minutes without problem.
If this helps you. Spread the word and hopefully the developer hears.

I use an OLED for gaming & work, so I made a GNOME extension to prevent burn-in during static tasks and decided to share it with you!
Hi everyone! First off, I apologize if this isn’t the perfect sub for this, but as a fellow Linux enthusiast and gamer, I figured some of you might be in the same boat.
I recently treated myself to an OLED monitor. It's amazing for gaming, but I also use it as a secondary display for development. I was constantly worried about burn-in because of static windows, and fumbling for the physical power button every time was getting annoying.
So, I whipped up a GNOME extension that completely blacks out the screen after a timeout if the cursor isn't moving on that display. I really liked how it turned out, so I decided to polish it up and share it with others. I’ve already received some great feedback and added a feature to adjust the dimming intensity.
The extension is currently pending review on the official GNOME Extensions site, but you can find it on my GitHub right now: https://github.com/nikitakarpei/per-monitor-screen-blank
I’d be really happy if this ends up being useful to some of you. I’m also open to any feedback or suggestions on how to make it even better. Have a great day!

Hello dear Linux users. I'm a windows user and I have kinda had it with windows and their shitty updates breaking and BSODing my stuff. I'm legitimately fed up with it. I'm planning to move to linux for a sorta peace of mind away from AI and all that nonsense.
So I need help from you guys. I tried installing fedora 43 on my laptop ( KDE Plasma ) and I keep getting stuck on the desktop screen after the install ( freezes after 10s or more ). I looked up the issue and apparently I gotta change the linux line in the boot menu using GRUB. Problem is that it sorta fixed the issue and it inly extended the time it takes to freeze my laptop by an additional 10 seconds. One thing I forgot to mention is that I made the boktable USB using balenaetcher and while the process was working I got this message from windows that drive:d has encountered a problem, but the process completed without displaying any errors. I tried to go into drive d ( USB ) but it says that it requires to be formatted before using it. I didn't think much of this and I used the same USB to install linux in my laptop. also while loading the fedora os it for a split second showed a command line saying not recommended to install OS from this device.
So I kinda gave up in my venture and. went back to WINDOWS like a disappointed father.
This time I'm 100 percent down to move to linux, problem is I don't know what distro is best for me and I don't have someone to guide me properly. I'm using a ROG Strix g15 with an RTX 3050 AND Ryzen 7 6800h. I would really appreciate your help and advice.

How do fix this Anti-cheat force issue in SLA Lutris.
I was finally able to run the game after a lot of trials & error but now its this. I checked lots of posts & videos & finally I realized I just had to change the Wine version to wither system or the latest default 2 times before opening the game. But now I am facing this error when starting it up. Any ideas how to fix it??
Forgot to mention I am running CachyOS.

Audio issue that's pissing me off.
So I try many proton versions but some games at some times have an issue where a glitching sound plays when it shouldn't. I have noticed it in geometry dash and Detroit become human but sometimes I have also noticed it outside of games, so it could be a driver issue, but it happens with some Proton versions more than with some others. I can't figure out why. I don't know if it's a driver issue, if it's an issue with Easy Effects, or if it's something unrelated. It only happens in Linux, where I have a dedicated DAC that works fine on Windows. It's a Sound Blaster Audigy RX/5. It works fine on Windows but not on Linux for some reason. Do you know any fix?

Wanting to make 30 FPS feel like console.
Currently dual booting windows and cachyos as I'm liking cachyos more than windows and I would love to play the games I mainly play on windows although there is a question that came up in my mind, Since console games mostly run at around 30fps and they feel so smooth due to motion blur and game optimization, But another factor adds up which is that console aren't filled with bloat like windows is. So I thought why not consider giving this a try on linux since linux is so much lighter when comparing to windows like my on startup ram usage on windows 11 is 6gb and comparing to cachyos its 1gb on startup which is already a massive difference, Usage wise linux feels smoother and faster overall due to less bloat.
Though I've tried to get the console like experience on windows but that really never was successful and It always felt choppy when I searched up on the internet people just said that consoles don't have bloat like windows as I stated above.
Has anyone tried doing this on linux? If yes then how did it went and since I'm pretty new I would also need some help on which software I'll be using to achieve this on linux (like capping fps to 30, cause the game doesn't has one in built option, and adaptive vsync or half vsync) cause im using amd apu.
and yes, I do have a controller.
Any help will be highly appreciated, Peace

Genshin crashing on Linux
Distro: PopOS
I’ve been a relatively light Linux user for about a year now, so any easy to follow tips would be great! I’ve been playing Genshin on Linux for a while (using Heroic), but starting two updates ago, it began crashing whenever I try to launch. I’ve already reinstalled the game and tried 'An Anime Game Launcher' using the default installation method, but the issue persists. Any clues as to what might be happening?
TLDR: The launcher opens fine, but when I hit 'Start,' it disappears for a few seconds and then just pops back up without the game actually booting
System Specs: In case this affects any consideration

I switched to Linux for sim racing and Assetto Corsa EVO runs BETTER than on Windows — here's my experience
Hey everyone,
I know the "Linux gaming is ready" debate never really ends, but I wanted to share my personal experience because it genuinely surprised me.
I've been running Assetto Corsa EVO on Linux and the difference compared to my previous Windows setup is noticeable — smoother frametimes, less stuttering mid-race, and overall just a cleaner experience.
I recorded a full lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Mazda MX-5 Cup and put together a video showing the gameplay + my graphics settings.
A few highlights from my experience:
- Frametimes are more consistent than Windows (no random spikes mid-corner)
- Proton handles the game surprisingly well out of the box
- Graphics settings I'm running: Ryzon 7 5700X / RX 6600 XT
- Distro: Zorin OS 18.1 Core
I'm not here to start a flame war — if Windows works for you, great. But for me, going back feels like a downgrade at this point.
Happy to answer questions about my setup. Video in the comments (didn't want to make this feel like a promo post).
