How's GPU undervolting like in Linux right now?
I'm wondering about all three vendors, but mostly about nVidia, given that's what I currently use.
Is it possible, does the tool have a curve editor, and is there an automatic overclock tool like in MSI AB? I find that to be the best starting point for undervolting.

Is Windows 10 the only good os for dualbootimg?
Destiny 2 is my crack daddy and he’s been booty calling me for the past week now. Issue is, it can’t run on Linux at all and requires just straight up Windows. Even a VM isn’t perfect and can lead to bans for cheating. So I’m asking, is Win10 the only useable OS for dual booting? Out all the windows products it’s one of the least bad, and functioning as the motel for my conjugal visit shouldn’t be too bad. However, is there a better alternative? I know of AtlasOs and all the other modified windows which are massive security risks, so it’s looking I’m going to need to just install win10 on a partition and debloat the hell out of it.

NVIDIA powermizer settings rest after reboot.
I Have been using after x server setting to set a gpu overclock with powermizer offsets. But When I reboot after it resets my powermizer memory and clock offsets. I would want it to not do that since its a little annoying setting it on every boot up.
im running Kubuntu 24.04 LTS with a RTX 3060.
I tried making a startup script like the below one but it seams the lines that change the clock offsets do not work.
Also just running nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsClockOffset[3]=150'by its self in the terminal does not work either.
#!/bin/sh nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUPowerMizerMode=1' nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsClockOffset[3]=150' nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset[3]=900' submitted by /u/guineapigboyx[link] [comments]

Source-Engine-1 performance issue initial fix MERGED (GitHUB). Details below.
https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/pull/5023
Long story short:I have jumped on Linux almost 2 years ago to "get used to it" and learn possible fixes to problems.
I found out, objectively, that S-E-1 uses almost twice the GPU % (use) to render the same or less frames.
This is an issue for ANYONE and EVERYONE because the GPU working double to give less is just a problem, no matter what "someone" says.
I want to give my thanks to the DXVK Devs for this first fix (I am not knowledgeable of how GitHUB works, but from the little I understood they plan to work a little more one it).
Please don't go there just to say "thank you", GitHUB is not a Social Media.
{You can react with Emojis tho.}
.
I want to invite everyone to play out some games which you enjoyed in the past and figure out if, compared to Windows' default performance, there's such a drastic loss there too, because Valve & other big shots are focusing on more modern games (for obvious reasons).It's difficult to scientifically gather data, but it must be done by someone, because if you want to be completely independent from Windows this must be done.

What are Intel Arc cards like on Linux atm?
So I recently made the jump to Linux Mint full time, and generally Im pretty impressed with the linux gaming experience these days. That being said, I think my Geforce 1660 Super is starting to show its age a bit and given my budget is a bit limited im looking at mid range options to replace it (planning on keeping my Ryzen 5 3600 for the immediate future and looking for a potentially a second hand upgrade).
Doing some research it looks like right now midrange cards are hamstrung by Nvidia and AMD limiting them to 8GB of VRAM, which a lot of people are saying isn't going to be very future proofed. Ive been interested in the Intel ARC B580 or A770 as alternative options which don't have this limitation but I've seen mixed comments about the state of their linux drivers and Vulkan performance.
Anyone on here using Intel cards on Linux able to offer their perspective?

Half life one lagging and crashing on Linux.
I have a trouble with playing Half Life 1 on my PC. A few days ago my PC just stopped running Half-Life one (Both linux runtime and Proton version). When I start the proton version of half life i get a "failed to create SDL window" error, and when I run the Linux version I can run the game but I get around 30 FPS which is unplayable. It might be some troubles with Drivers/OpenGL/Nvidia GPU but I aint sure what to do. I am kinda new to Linux so I might just mess something up. Here is some data that might help (My pc, errors and drivers):
