Will I be able to play Pragmata on day one ?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 19:44

Hey guys ! Sorry it's kind of a dumb question. It's been a while since I played a game on release day, and in the meantime, I moved to Linux. So I was wondering if I would have to wait a bit for proton to fully support the game or will it be good right from the start ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

Tarkov on Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 19:19

Hi all,

I switched to Cachy for daily use since like 2 weeks ago, and i have been loving it, literally every game i play works flawlessly and with very very minimal FPS loss, i beat Tarkov before i made the switch (Got Kappa and ending), but soon they will be releasing seasonal wipes and i want to play them potentially, i checked ProtonDB for Tarkov but the last update was from 1 month ago from people only commenting about PVE (I play only PVP).

I was playing SPT with a friend and that works fine on Linux but i dont know if base Tarkov works, since this is quite literally the only game that has a risk of not working on Linux for me, every other game as i said works fine, if anyone knows if it can be played or not much would be appreciated

Sims 4 suddenly at like 3fps

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 19:11

I'm playing Sims 4 through Heroic launcher. That's been working fine but today I decided to update my Nvidia driver (to 590 open, I have a Nvidia GPU) because I've had problems with another game and I've read that that could help. Now Sims 4 is veeeery laggy (like 3-4 fps) and switching back to the old driver version (580 open) does not resolve the problem.

Some Specs:
Running on Linux mint 22.3

Kernel version 6.17.0-19

GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 Super

16gb ram

Does switching between driver versions change something else in the system that I didn't know I had to change back?

Arc b580 and gaming on Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 18:55

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new in the Linux community considering I switched to garuda linux a few days ago as my first distro (I was on mint for less then 24hrs since I've found it pretty limiting).

I was wondering if the reason my for gpu usage being at 100% and low fps is caused by intel being pretty new to the gpu world or if I'm doing something wrong. Some games work completely fine, others I can't even play anymore like I did on Windows 11.

I'm on the latest version of mesa drivers, kernel and everything else.

Also I don't know if it's worth noting but my whole steam library is on my hdd which is ntfs format and the games get read from there but my system is on a ext4 partition on my ssd.

The reason for this is obviously me not wanting to download everything again but if any of you think that might be the issue I will do so.

I tested cs2 in both native linux version and proton experimental with the same results (40~ fps in menu alone) and I made sure it was ran in vulkan.

Any help highly appreciated and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have to further help me with this problem.

What's next for NVIDIA?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 18:41

Now that NVIDIA has released their 595 drivers, what is left for Linus to close the gap on Windows performance-wise?

What should I be looking/waiting for to see the performance benefits, and will I need to do anything to gain them? Or is the performance already fixed?

I built a simple Cheat Engine SpeedHack–like tool on Linux (ZBLZ-engine)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 18:14

I’ve been messing around with low-level stuff and decided to try building my own mini “Cheat Engine Speed-hack” from scratch, mainly as a learning project and cos i searched A LOT for a program that do this on Linux and i didn't found one.
I also made a page for it (is on Spanish):
https://maaron00670.github.io/ZBLZ-Engine/#inicio-rapido

It’s called ZBLZ-engine, and right now it can do basic speedhack and process interaction. The goal isn’t to compete with existing tools, just to understand how they actually work under the hood and have this with all the rest of my tools.

Still very early and kinda messy

I thought it might be interesting for someone that knows cheat engine or something.

If anyone’s curious or has ideas on what to add next, I’d love to hear it.

Here are some pictures of it:

World of Warcraft: weird blocky texture issue

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 17:33

Hello everyone, first and foremost I would like to thank in advance anyone who would pitch in and try to help.

I have recently moved back to Linux onto Bazzite on my ASUS Laptop with an NVidia RTX 3060 dGPU.

Everything is going spectacular so far, the last drop was an issue on windows specifically with World of Warcraft where opening the Collections tab would cause the nvidia drivers on Windows to crash and sometimes never recover: I was glad to see that the same thing does NOT happen on Linux.

This afternoon though I've just started to notice this texturing issue and the I first noticed while farming some mines/herbs with my druid (last picture) and after I noticed it everywhere.

I initally attributed it to the Bazzite system update that I ran before launching WoW where it updated the NVidia drivers so I tried first to:

  1. Delete the folders in GLCache on the install folder of battlenet, thinking it was a shader issue
  2. change between Proton versions (GE latest 34, previous GE 33, Proton 10, Proton Experimental), deleting GLCache between each try, with no avail
  3. rollback Bazzite update, with no luck
  4. try different proton versions (as before) with the rollback update, deleting GLCache between each try, and still no luck

Now I have just reinstalled the update and I'm trying to find information about this issue online, with no luck at all (either my search engine kung-fu has weakened or the search engines have gotten worse), no luck on Bazzite Discord so here I am.

Last detail: WoW is running from the B.Net Launcher through Lutris

Thanks everyone!

Edit: of one thing I'm sure, yesterday and this morning it wasn't like that, so I can't wrap my head around what could have led to this.

Source: Steam

I haven't seen the issue since adding PROTON_LOG=1, however it seems to be pretty rare so that's not surprising.

Issue:

For some reason, while playing RuneScape: Dragonwilds using DX12 (Vulkan is apparently buggy in this game according to Protondb), every once in awhile my screen will just turn black - then off... But if I turn it back on with the physical on button, everything works again. This isn't a huge issue, however it is annoying - especially if I'm mid-combat...

Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions for a fix?

Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 27. März 2026 - 15:56

I used to play Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour on Windows, and I relied on:

  • GenLauncher for mods
  • Radmin VPN to play online with friends

Now I’ve switched to Linux and I’m trying to recreate the same experience.

If anyone has tried running Zero Hour (or any C&C games) on Linux, I’d really appreciate your advice
Any tips or tools would help!
