Is it possible to change LOD bias on Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 15:11

on windows you either go NvidiaInspector or Registry Editor (Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > Currentcontrolset > Control > Video > (random numbers folder) > 0000 > New string value named LodAdj and you just change the value from there) but can you somehow do it on linux?

(I'm on AMD / Debian)

Need help withLinux gaming

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 11:36

I'm not a Linux newbie (been using Linux for 5+ years) but I have just recently got a gaming laptop with an Nvidia gpu. Obviously before coming here to ask for help I tried running my games myself via lutris using both proton GE (latest) and system wine.

Here are the problems I'm facing: 1. DLSS just straight up doesn't work. It doesn't even show up on the graphics settings menu of my games. 2. Even without DLSS, windows Non-DLSS performance is still much better than Linux Non-DLSS performance. 3. Ray Tracing performance is straight up so bad it's unplayable, obviously this is not the case in windows so I know my hardware isn't at fault.

So far I've tried setting environment variables in lutris and adding dll overrides but none of those worked. I'm confused as to how to run games properly on Linux since I'm a newbie in terms of Linux gaming.

Games I tried running: Marvel's Spider Man Remastered (2018), Tomb Raider (2013) OS: Arch Linux (straight up arch, not any arch based one) GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6gb vram laptop gpu Drivers: nvidia-open

About the drivers, idk if this is the correct package I need to install, and if it's not, please tell me how to install proper drivers for my laptop gpu.

Frame Drops on Rimworld on Fedora 43 KDE Only When Menus Are Open

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 09:28

Hi folks. I'm gaming on Fedora 43 KDE. I have a Ryzen 9950X3D and an RTX 5080, so no hardware issues. I've installed the RPM Fusion proprietary drivers and gaming is a breeze, for the most part, other than a few kinks.

One of those is that in Rimworld, if I have certain menus open (specifically architect, wildlife, factions, and ideologions, as well as if I'm on the world map, my game hitches and stutters like it has to buffer every second or two, or like my FPS is tanking.

How can I troubleshoot this? Any suggestions to fix?

heroic launcher on linux mint, does not take all keys

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 02. März 2026 - 08:56

On Linux Mint, I have a problem where the 2 and 6 keys don't work when I play WoW. Only when I press the shift key (up arrow) in combination with those two keys does it trigger the correct key. All the other keys work fine. Before Mint, I had Manjaro, and it worked out of the box. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this minor problem? Thanks in advance for your help.
