Trying to login to Microsoft account via ATLauncher, but keeps getting errors

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 08:15

Still getting used to Linux Arch! The ATLauncher for Minecraft installs natively on Arch and the program itself works perfectly fine. It's only once I try to login to my Microsoft account that I get this weird error. Seems like it could be a lot of things, so I wanted to see if there's a blocker related to Linux Arch.

System Specs:

  • OS: CachyOS Linux (KDE Plasma 6.3.5)
  • Kernel: 6.146.6-2-cachyos (64-bit)
  • CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz
  • RAM: 46.9
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700

Here's the log....

Does discord support hardware encoding?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 06:34

I've seen many posts claiming that discord screenshare is finally fixed but, even though I can share my screen with audio, the quality is horrible (sub 5 fps prob under 580p too). I've monitored my gpu usage during the screenshare using amdgpu_top and the gpu usage doesn't flicker at all when I start it or during use, meaning my CPU is tanking the encoding job, which can only make sense.

I'm running KDE - Wayland on Arch and my hardware is a 7900 xtx + 7800x3d

I've already tried using discord, discord canary, aur-vesktop, flatpak-vesktop, goofcord, web-mozilla and web-chromium. All of them end up with the same result.

Something odd that I've noticed is that I can't enable video hardware acceleration on the vesktop settings at all, I tried a bunch of flags on the flatpak version and none of them allowed me to toggle on this option (the button is disabled on the interface)

Other thing that I noted on chrome is that when I access chrome://gpu/ I've got the following line: `* Video Encode: Software only. Hardware acceleration disabled` which led me to try the flags

--enable-features=AcceleratedVideoEncoder, AcceleratedVideoDecodeLinuxZeroCopyGL,AcceleratedVideoDecodeLinuxGL,VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks

Which in turn turned that line into: `* Video Decode: Hardware accelerated` but when using the web version of discord with this flag it looks like the stream just hangs on loading forever and none can watch the transmission.

I'm not sure if I missed a memo or something, but I can't get screenshare to work with a decent quality at all and looking at recent posts it seems that this issue should be been solved by now

Controller not recognized by steam (Nobara)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 04:44

My PS4 DualShock connects fine through Bluetooth - shows up as connected in bluetoothctl and everything. But when I try to use it in games or check for controllers, nothing sees it. No /dev/input/js* devices get created.

Running Nobara Linux with kernel 6.14.8. The hid-sony and hid-playstation modules are loaded. Controller shows proper device info and UUIDs when connected.

Tried the usual stuff like trusting the device and reloading modules. Anyone run into this before? there a fix?

Thanks!

RX 6750 XT Crashing after a few minutes on any game, any distro

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 03:33

I'm about at the end of my patience trying to get this working. I got an RX 6750 XT to upgrade my old 1660, and I'm about to go back to the damn 1660! I can load up any game on steam, namely: Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, BeamNG Drive, GTA5, FF7 remake just to name a few - They will work absolutely flawlessly, great FPS, no stuttering, for about 5 minutes. Then my entire PC will hard freeze, black screen, have to power it down and reboot.

The weird thing is, I can load up furmark and ramp the GPU up to 100%, -while- loading up the CPU to 100%, and it will run all day without issue if I let it. I've watched the temps as it crashes, and CPU/GPU both aren't overheating.

I'm running Fedora 42, but I distro hop a lot so I've had this same issue happen on Manjaro, Rocky, Debian, PopOS, Ubuntu, KDE/Gnome/XFCE. Same behavior with open source drivers AND the AMD Pro driver. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!

Help making Linyuvo KS35 controller work as XInput

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 03:31

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Linyuvo KS35 wireless controller. It's designed for the Nintendo Switch, but in the manual it mentions that it can be switched to XInput mode.

Problem is, the manual is pretty vague and I can't figure out how to actually enable XInput mode. i followed it by holding the ( + and - ) but nothing happens. If anyone has experience with this controller (or similar ones), I’d really appreciate your help! I'm using fedora linux btw

Proton won't ignore iGPU?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 03:12

Basically the title. I have an Intel i7 with an iGPU and an NVIDIA 5070 ti and for the most part it works a treat but there is the occasional game where Proton/DXVK/Something just absolutely will not ignore the iGPU.

If I disable the iGPU the games that this impacts will run just fine, no issues whatsoever, but my system doubles as a Plex server and I like to keep the iGPU available for Plex transcoding.

I've tried the typical methods to force the 5070, __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1, DRI_PRIME, etc., but then it just doesn't find a GPU at all. Which feels pretty obnoxious.

Any suggestions? How can I make the blinding white hot light of my iGPU less enticing for these random games?

(Arch) All Steam games silently fail to launch

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 02:17

Formerly, I was able to launch Steam games with no problem, even those stored on an NTFS partition (I dual boot with Windows 10). A few restarts later, not even locally installed games can launch. No errors from the Steam client - the button just turns back to Play almost immediately.

Here I'm using Antonblast (platinum on ProtonDB) as a guinea pig under Proton 9.0.4. Both are installed in the home directory. Console output after launching

Distro: Arch Linux

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz

GPU: RTX 3060

Issues with source games.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 01:33

I feel like I've tried just about everything, but source games just are not functional for me on Linux. First it was performance issues which were fixed by just forcing vulkan, but now I still have no controller input or steam overlay in any source game. Anything not in the source engine works fine, my controller configuration screen in steam is normal and detects everything fine.

Any ideas of what I could be missing?

Edit: I'm on arch BTW, and yes everything is up to date and I'm using the open kernel drivers as recommended for newer Nvidia gpus.

My experience with nvidia open kernel driver on fedora 42.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 01:01

before restarting

after restarting

The game runs smooth until suddenly it drops and keeps like what you have seen after rebooting the game runs as normal this problem i face with ets 2 and cod ww2 and those the are the all games that i play

so the solution is to use the normal proprietary drivers. weird NVIDIA drivers or i understand open kernel NVIDIA driver wrong because it was working normally with fedora 41 and Linux mint

Is Nobara or bezzite best for gaming for a completely new user?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 00:52

Hey guys, I am gonna start using my first linux distro by duel booting along with windows just for now. I have an all amd gaming laptop so I just assumed something like bezzite might be best in my case as i am thinking of getting a tv and currently repairing/modding a controller, for console like gaming, I was asking chatgpt and it kept saying that Nobara will still have the best performance for my amd setup so now i am just confused?

And its gonna be mainly for gaming but i would like to do simple pc task like office apps and web browsing and basic video editing

Can anyone help me out here thanksss.

Anyone with 8bitdo Pro 2 controller, can you please check if you have a bugged button mapping

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 10. Juni 2025 - 00:43

See previous post about it (probably most people who have it missed it). Basically mapping of "home" button in Wine with xinput looks bugged.

I reported this bug to Wine, but wanted to confirm it's not just me with this issue.

Steam In Home streaming performance 9060 XT

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 09. Juni 2025 - 23:58

Hi everyone,

I recently got a 9060 XT and, while it’s working fine, I’m not having the best experience with performance while in home streaming.

I’m using Tumbleweed and I came from a Nvidia 1660 Super so I had to install some things to make sure I was using hardware encoding and HVEC but, now that it’s working, the performance while playing isn’t great. I lose around 10 to 15 FPS and the stream seems to be even below that frame rate. With my 1660 Super the performance while streaming was pretty much the same.

Is this because of how new the card is and some improvements can be expected? I’m using Mesa 25.0 btw
