I use GNOME on Fedora 42 and recently switched to the dvorak-layout. And I stumbled upon an unexpected issue, the keys (ÅÄÖ) which on the swedish dvorak layout replace QWE, are often unbindable in games. And when I do manage to bind them, they are never registered in game as ÅÄÖ, instead as the ANSI keys they normally replace ([ and : and ').

My first thought was a problem with the layout, but the keyboard layout I have selected shows ÅÄÖ, as does pressing the keys in xev. I did not have this problem on the same games on windows with dvorak, so it seems a Linux issue.

As of now I have to swap to QWERTY every time I want to game, which is tedious.

Does anyone know of a solution?

I was running Fedora 42 and Bazzite using 9070 XT and was running into a few issues that drove me nuts. I had to switch back to Windows for now but plan on going back eventually. The issues I ran into are:

1. Mouse would lag horribly once I exited a game. I would need to reboot to fix it. Typing was not affecting nor was over all system performance.

2. When playing Monster Hunter World the in game HDR was disabled even when the system HDR was enabled. I couldn't find a fix for this.

3. Emulation gaming was stuttering (most notable Dolphin) no matter how low the graphical settings were. Tried the same exact settings on Windows and no issues.

I previously had an older AMD (7900XT) and Nvidia (3070) installed and never ran into these issues. So I'm leaning towards the Mesa drivers need to catch up with the 9070 XT. Is this more of a version 42 issues? Is anyone running 41 having issues while using a 9070XT?

Just a question for the community. How many that have either the ASUS ROG ALLY Z1 XTREME or the Ally X have installed Linux on it and by that I mean the non-SteamOS version?

I'm curious to try it out because I want a full version of Linux that isn't the SteamOS variant to be able to live stream to Twitch and YouTube as well!

Hello, I've followed guides and tutorials on youtube and the web to install Linux distros (in this case, Nobara.) But I cannot boot it for the life of me. I have used Rufus to put the iso in the USB stick. I cannot find the usb stick in the boot options. Someone please help.

Playing Returnal on linux. and not all videos work, the intro video do not play and some tutorial videos also do not work... some of them do though... strange

also the once that do not work have a multicolored test screen on the... like on old CRT TVS.. ?

This error shows up any time I try to launch Halo 2 using Lutris. I install it directly from Lutris, under Project Cartographer which also comes with the dependencies needed for it to work. Besides installing Flatpak chromium literally no other change was made to the os itself. All other games work fine, it's just this that has issues. It worked previously and idk wtf am I suppost to do

Is there any tool to change the content of .w3string in linux

- Fedora Silverblue 41
- Play using steam with proton
- The steam and wine installed using flatpak

Ive seen a tool such a w3string.exe but couldnt figured it out why it doesnt work with command:

I've tried all sorts of things, including Fuck off EA App, but Origin servers were shut down not too long ago. Even tried ZL_Origin. A pirated version for EA games. But that didn't work either. In all Origin and EA client did not go connect for authorization.

And then I decided to install Lutris, I choose dependencies and there ironically under one of the dependencies directly mentions the list of launchers.

The only thing that glitched in the launcher was the video, and then there were bugs in BF4 as well. Then I saw that MangoHud displayed not DXVK but some Damavand, I went to winetricks, replaced it with DXVK and the launcher became with normal video. Hi, I managed to run Vortex thorugh Steam Tinker Launch but I want to mod Oblivion Remastered and instead of using an EXE you rename as the game EXE, it uses an external EXE that injects DLL into the game's EXE. The problem is when I do this, I can't launch it through proton the traditional way. Did anyone manage to work around this issue and get OBSE working on Linux? I'm on CachyOS with KDE Plasma if that matters.
