This is a recent thing, Vinegar was working perfectly up until now, and nothing changed. I am running pop os, and wine 9. Whenever I launch Roblox studio on Vinegar, it just shows the Roblox Studio loading window, but nothing actually happens. I have renewed all the packages, and reinstalled everything wine adjacent, including sober. The config only tells it to render using Vulkan and to disable dxvk, and I have also tried to run without any arguments at all. I will attach the image of the problem. I tried everything but for sum reason rinlox studio randomly stopped yesterday it was working fine. Today I launched it and it was stuck in this screen, reinstall vine and studio and everything I could think of related to ot but it's still the same.. any solution or do I wait longer

So I’ve recently revived an old PC with a i7 7700 and a GTX 1060 6gb. Currently got Mint Cinnamon on it, absolutely loving it but thinking of making it a HTPC for the living room. Just have a few queries.

If I want an experience closest to a Steam Deck, which one should I go for? Both seem to offer Steam Gaming Mode

How is Nvidia support for both? Especially for the older 10 series cards?

Also, how different are both of them?

Hello guys, I'm wondering if I should split my SSD into two partitions (one for Win11 and one for Bazzite) because I'd like to test out Linux. However, games like R6, which don't run on Linux at all, are something I play often, and I don't want to miss out if I switch. Do you think it would be worth it, performance-wise and otherwise?

i7 12700k, 9070xt, Kubuntu 25.04 (launching games via steam)

Any game I launch with proton does not detect my HOTAS. I have tried proton hotfix, experimental, 7.0-6, 10.0-1 beta, and GE 10-4. Problem occurs in all proton games, but not in native linux games (e.g KSP detects the HOTAS fine when launched in linux native). I've tried disabling steam input in Properties > Controller for each game with no change. Here is a proton log for Elite: Dangerous, launching it and going into the controls to confirm the HOTAS is not detected.

Any ideas would be great, if any other information or logs are needed just ask.

Right now this is happening with Jedi: Survivor, but I've noticed it's the case with other games too like Battlefront 2 and co. Holding down a key simply is inconsistent, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's especially annoying for Jedi Survivor since you need to hold down buttons to pull certain objects.

I'm on Arch, with Nvidia proprietary drivers on Hyprland. I'm using GE-Proton 10-4, have gamemode and other things enabled.

Theres no GeforceNOW native app, you can only use it through browser, and the most ideal one is google chrome/chromium. Everything seemed fine except I could sense frame spikes every 5 seconds, but when I turned show FPS on, the frame spikes weren't being captured by the frame rate counter, yet they were still occuring. I did everything, got a very specific way to launch chrome with all hardware acceleration settings on. Still kept seeing tiny stutters, and it wasn't my wifi because it was smooth sailing on Windows native app.

However, I found a way to finally get rid of it, don't open GeforceNOW with the "in app" function, just play it through the browser on full screen :3

I can't believe this was the source of all my issues, drove me crazy for weeks 3X Wanted to let others know in case someone might be going through the same thing, smooth linux mint cloud gaming is 100% possible TwT Might not seem like much but millisecond freezes absolutely tanks your performance on games like OW2 or other FPS games

I recently switched from Windows to Linux for gaming (kept a Win11 partition as backup). Overall it’s going well, but I’ve noticed noticeable FPS drops on certain games, particularly Pacific Drive and The Alters. I’ve been told that DirectX 12 games can be more problematic on Linux. Current setup: RTX 3060 Ti I’m wondering if switching to an AMD RX 9060 16GB would be a good move to improve performance on Linux. By selling my 3060 Ti, the upgrade would cost me around $200. Questions: • Are AMD GPUs really better performers than NVIDIA on Linux? • Is the upgrade worth it for $200 in my case? • Has anyone tested the RX 9060 16GB on Linux? Thanks for your feedback!

I'm trying to get a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with the Xbox layout to work on CachyOS. So far I've gotten either USB or Bluetooth configured properly but I can't have them both configured at the same time.

I got the IDs from AntiMicroX. I think they're unique? I checked these SDL_GameControllerDB IDs:

But none of them seem to register. Only the AntiMicroX IDs register and that's only if I'm using one at a time (I can't use both, which is the problem I'm trying to solve). I also noticed both AntiMicroX and some of SDL_GameControllerDB's configs use hat for the dpad (ex: dpdown:h0.4) and those don't seem to register.

I've tried separating configs with semicolons and newlines, tried with and without quotations, nothing seems to work and I'm out of ideas. If anyone has any idea of how I can load two configs, I would really appreciate it.

My preferred way of loading these configs is through /etc/environment.d/sdl-gamecontroller.conf where the file has this line (USB example):
