What is your Geekbench score on your Linux gaming box?
Here is mine: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/14185732
I understand that this is not exactly a gaming benchmark, but it is a decent CPU and RAM performance test.
Also, is there any good Linux benchmark software aside from this?

What's the best distro for gaming?
I currently use Arch with Hyprland on my laptop, but I'm building a gaming PC with an Nvidia card. I love Arch, but I'd like to try something new. I've heard a lot about NixOS and that it has a very steep learning curve. I'm not worried about that, though; I love learning and discovering new things. However, I'm not sure if this distro works well for gaming, etc. (I wouldn't use obvious distros like Nobara) :P

Issues ive encountered on my journey to only game on Linux
So my experience with gaming in Linux has been a mixed bag. Mainly dealing Compatibility Layers being a pain. Here are some of my gripes with it. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong, am incorrect on something, or what the best option for these would be.
-Linux Ports- I have only experienced this with one game and I have not confirmed it myself but. When looking into modding Brutal Legends, I was told the Linux port of Brutal Legends is capped at 60fps. This has made me question if the quality of Linux ports are the same as Windows Ports. Im aware the FPS cap is a issue on Windows Games also but apparently the port of it on Windows doesnt have an FPS cap..
-Mods- Modding is one of the biggest benefits of PC gaming in my opinion and my experience with it on Linux has been pretty much non existent. You can apparently get DLL mods go to work but any game I have tried to mod that has a mod manager does not support the Linux version of the game.
-Wine/Proton using Lutris- Have had constant issues with it. Was trying to get Mirrors Edge running and had 2 problems that I could remember. PhysX would cause the game to drop to less than 10 fps and the lighting was way to bright. Have tried asking the community for help to no avail. Checked ProtonDB but didn't see a 100% no issue way of playing the game. I have overtime learned things myself but videos on it can be confusing and I wasnt sure if the community was willing to help out with it.
My questions I have are.
Is it possible to game on Lutris without having to deal with slight issues or inconsistencies that wouldn't happen playing it natively.
I have wondered if Virtual Machines would solve most of the issues if not all of them. Something like KVM with GPU pass through. Do you have to worry about the issues you have on compatibility layers on Virtual Machines?
Would it be better for me to use a separate drive with Windows on it to run only the things I need it for?

Is Nix Launcher finishing its support ?
Some weeks ago, this message has been appearing, and today, nix launcher doesn't work anymore. It was some similar to Heroic games Launcher, but I uninstalled that today because I don't plat videogames from there anymore

Games "jitter" when moving camera
Hello, I have a hard to describe problem..while gaming on Linux in every game there is a slight "jitter" while moving or looking around kinda like screen tearing but way more subtle. I already tried to change the polling rate of the mouse, enabling/disabling adaptive sync and enable disable allow screen tearing in full-screen windows and different combinations of these settings.
I am kind of out of ideas. I didn't have that problem on windows. The FPS also seem to be alright.
My spechs:
OS: CachyOS
DE: KDE Plasma 6.4.5
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8) @ 4.85 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT [Discrete]
Memory: 32 GiB

The demo of my game is coming on October 6th! Thanks for all the playtesting help :)
Hi, I’m Devin, and I just announced the demo for my upcoming game A Pinball Game That Makes You Mad!
Earlier I asked for play testers and y'all really came through!
It’s basically a mix between a rage-platformer (think Getting Over It or Jump King) and classic pinball. Instead of climbing with a hammer or jumping around, you’re flung upward through a massive level using only pinball flippers. The entire game is played with just one button, but you’ll need timing, precision, and patience to avoid falling and losing all your progress!
The demo has the first world unlocked, and should give you a taste of the frustration. The full version will have two more (much larger) worlds to conquer!
Would love to hear what you think, any feedback is super appreciated! You can wishlist the game to be notified when the demo releases! Thank you!!

AC Odyssey not running on mint
I bought Odyssey on sale and when I try to launch it, it opens a small splash screen and then a small black window. This goes on indefinitely and I can't get around it at all. It runs great on my steamdeck but id like to be able to play on pc as well.
Any help would be great!

Problems with Cyberpunk new pc?
I built a PC recently with the parts below (let me know if you need more info) and I'm running Mint and I'm new to Linux. When playing Cyberpunk at 1440p, pretty high settings but no ray tracing I started getting blank spots of the screen sometimes just small parts sometimes most of the screen. What's going on? Is the GPU getting too hot? I think my drivers are all up to date, running most recent stable kernal and GE proton.
I also turned down the graphics settings and got similar issues.
Ryzen 9600X
ASRock A620AI WiFi Mini ITX AM5 Motherboard
32 GB DDR5 6000
ASRock Challenger OC Arc B580 12 GB
Edit: the GPU seemed to be running at or near 100% even in menus.

Game shaking when charging (tcg card shop simulator, kubuntu, wayland, Nvidia)
Hi, I have a weird issue on my Asus laptop. I have kubuntu installed. I am playing tcg card shop simulator, and I as long as it is not plugged to power - everything is working correctly. When I plug it in to charge, it intially continues to work, but starts to slowly "shake". My character and camera is shaking as if my character got palpitation. Npcs are also shaking when walking. The issue is increasing, to the point where game becomes unplayable. The issue goes away completely within a second of unplugging laptop form power.
Do you have any idea what might be the issue?

Keyboard Inputs to Controller Outputs
Hey all! I have a question that I've been looking for an answer to for quite a few years, and figured I might as well ask here. I'm looking for software that translates keyboard inputs to controller outputs. I've seen other posts talking about this; however, the replies that actually understood the question went on a per-app basis. I was wondering if any piece of software exists that does this? Essentially AntiMicroX but backwards.

Are pings in game accurate if I use a vpn?
If I use a vpn and the game shows 200 ping or 400 latency for example is that the ping or latency between me and the game server or between the vpn and the game server since the game server only sees the vpn and doesn't see me therefore leading to showing me inaccurate ping and latency numbers?

Mechanical gaming keyboard recommendations?
My venerable Cougar Attack X3 with Cherry MX Brown switches made it 10 years and last night one of the feet finally broke off, keyboard still works fine but doesn't sit right... thinking it's just time for a new one.
Looking for a full-sized (104+) key gaming keyboard with similar tactical feedback switches (can be quieter, but not louder, and want tactile and similar travel/feedback), dedicated volume/mute keys, and any programmable keys and/or RGB needs to be supported in Linux (OpenSUSE if it matters) or be controllable on device without software (this box doesn't have or need Windows, so the answer can't be to program the keyboard in Windows and just use it in Linux). The Cougar worked fine because everything could be controlled on the keyboard itself. RGB is not necessary but some backlighting that can be turned on/off easily is. Price isn't relevant within reason...
Prior to this I ran a Northgate OmniKey for like 20 years at home. At work I use a RedDragon K556 RGB which is actually ok but doesn't have the tactical feedback.
Any recommendations?

My mouse feels laggy and jittery.
I need this fixed I dont want to go back to windows.
In game my mouse feels like it has input lag, mouse acceleration, and it jitters occasionally as well.
I have tried every fix I could find and read, I turned off usb power saving, I switched my mouse accel mode to flat, I disabled vsync in KDEPlasma, I even switched from base linux kernel to linux-zen, nothing is seeming to work.
when I move my mouse on my desktop it feels fine, but in any game it feels like there is input lag and acceleration, and I have any software acceleration in the games turned off.

The Alters - Artifacts/Graphic Glitch
Hello everyone,
I tried to get The Alters running yesterday but I'm experiencing strange glitches/artifacts. Hard to describe but as soon as I move the courser in the menu, it is as if it freezes the image in a rectangle. Like when you draw a rectangle while pressing left mouse button.
Ingame theres flickering textures like the parachute in the second picture.
Im on Linux Mint and already tried different runners. My graphics card is a RTX 3070, driver version 550.163.01.
I've tried setting graphics to low, disabling all possible options and tried windowed/fullscreen mode but that didn't help.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

When creating this coop game, linux was a priority... But anyone to help us test this on SteamDeck?
TOJIBO is a cute coop platformer where you will need coordination and just a tiny bit of thought to reach the top.
If you would like to participate in playtesting (or just want to follow more closely), you can join the discord. We are looking for playtesters from a variety of countries all over the world to test netcode stability, if you have a unique profile, help would be greatly appreciated!
We've had only few linux testers, and no SteamDeck testers so far. If you are one of those, consider joining the playtest to help us confirm it works for you!
