Logitech g920

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 4:18pm

Os: Bazzite Gnome

Issue: input lag

Any recommendations on how to get the Logitech g920 to switch from Xbox to pc mode? I’ve read some guides and I’m using oversteer but haven’t been able to get it to switch from Xbox to pc mode which, if I understand correctly, is the probable cause of my issue. Could it be that I’m just not configuring it correctly in game? I’ve used a few suggested configurations and they all seem like they’d be fine if the input was real time.

[FIX] Dota 2 dropping to 20-30 FPS on Arch Linux + Hyprland + AMD — gamescope was the culprit

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 3:04pm

Hey everyone, leaving this here in case someone else runs into it and ends up Googling at 2am like I did.

The problem

Dota 2 randomly dropping to 20-30 FPS for no obvious reason. GPU barely under load, temperatures fine, nothing changed — the game just refused to run properly. Should've been hitting 150-180 FPS.

The cause

I had gamescope in Dota 2's Steam launch options. Turns out it was silently throwing this error in the background:

"(EE) failed to read Wayland events: Broken pipe"

That broken pipe was killing GPU performance entirely.

The fix

Just remove gamescope from your launch options or unistall the software. That's it. Mine now look like this:

`RADV_PERFTEST=gpl,nggc %command%`

Back to 150-180 FPS instantly.

My setup

- Arch Linux

- Hyprland

- AMD RX 5600 XT

- Mesa RADV

Hope this saves someone a couple hours. The fix took 10 seconds, finding it did not.

Is Waydroid good/safe for gaming?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 2:46pm

Hello!

I want to get an emulator for gaming purposes, and heard a lot about Waydroid. Now, I found a tutorial how to install it, but I want to know if it's safe to do so? I'm a complete noob, and don't want to risk my PC just because I want to play few games.

Why does Wayland stutter so much compared to X11

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 2:45pm

Hello,

I read a few times that Wayland is apparently better for newer NVIDA GPUs (RTX30/40/50 Series), however I noticed that Wayland gives me a lot of stuttering after some time using a web browser. That's at least when I notice it the most. I have a 240hz monitor and on X11 there is literally no such issue, it feels way smoother.

I have got an NVIDIA RTX 3060 running on CachyOS.

Does anyone else have the same issue or am I the only one?

Void Cargo: demo is out now, first-person cargo hauling on a hostile moon

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 1:28pm

If you haven't seen it before, Void Cargo is a physics-based cargo hauling game where you fly a first-person lander between remote bases on a hostile moon. You take delivery jobs, load cargo, and try to get it across mountains, fog, wind and hazard zones without smashing the ship into the terrain on approach.

Demo on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4319290/Void_Cargo_Equilibrium/

If you want a quick look first:

The flight model is on the accessible side, but it still has weight to it. The lander stays upright, so you're managing main thrust, lateral movement and yaw rather than full 6DOF controls. What really matters is mass. Cargo and fuel change how the ship handles, heavy loads make takeoff and landing noticeably rougher, and bad approaches can turn into a scramble to keep the hull intact and the landing under control.

One thing I spent a lot of time on was making flights feel calm right up until they aren't. You can be lining up a normal delivery, then a system fails, the wind starts pushing harder than expected, or a rough shortcut through a hazard zone stops looking clever very quickly. That balance between routine hauling and mild panic is probably the part I like most.

The demo supports Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck. Steam Deck has been my main test device from the start. It plays best with a gamepad, but keyboard and mouse work too.

I also put together a fairly extensive Steam guide that covers a lot of the game, including a few things that go beyond what's in the demo.

If you try it, I'd genuinely like to hear what feels good, what feels confusing, and what gets frustrating for the wrong reasons.

Cheers!

Does anyone remembers this?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 12:55pm

I used to play this game a lot. One of the best quality games for linux at the time, before we could start to play on steam with proton.

Spent too long debugging a Steam Deck Lutris issue before realizing the log was already pointing at the problem

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 11:54am

I was chasing a Steam Deck / Lutris launch problem and kept looking in the wrong place.

The useful clue was not a random crash line, but this in the Lutris log:

bash Invalid override value compiler,fps

Fedora Gamesir cyclone 2 pro - USB dongle issues

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 11:47am

Hi,

I'm having issues with the Gamesir's cyclone 2 pro USB dongle, it gets detected as a new USB device every few hours, the gamepad is actually turned off it's just the USB dongle that is plugged into my PC.

I'm not sure if this is on a exact interval but couple times a day at most.

Getting the USB plugged in sound and popup in KDE kind of annoys me, nothing major but if you have some kind of fix I would highly appreciate it.

--- EDIT:
Taking it out of the USB port is not really a viable solution for me, it's plugged in the back and that would be too much of a hustle.

What gaming laptop would you buy in 2026?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 11:16am

So, I finally want to buy a gaming laptop for my wife and myself and I only want it to have Linux installed, so basically everything needs to be supported.

Is there a gaming laptop with high performance and a great display and also has hardware that supports Linux?

Issues with dual GPU laptop running House Flipper

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 11:04am

I have a gaming laptop with 2 GPUs: NVIDIA RTX 3050 and Intel Iris Xe Graphics. I use NVIDIA on-demand Optimus profile. No matter what I do, House Flipper won't start with dedicated NVIDIA GPU, and when I launch it with "prime-run" the game crashes instantly. Any ideas what's wrong?

Is there any mainstream Android tablet (Lenovo, Xiaomi, Samsung etc.) that can run Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 10:17am

I guess that gonna mean being able to unlock the boot loader among other prerequisites.

I need it more for office work than for gaming, but i assume there are probably knowledgeable people here that will know if that is possible.

Thank you in advance

Lag on right Joy-Con in Eden emulator

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 7 Apr 2026 - 5:34am

I didn't notice it while playing Mario Galaxy, but in Zelda Skyward Sword HD the right Joy-Con starts to slow down every so often.

I read that an app called Betterjoy fixes the problem, although it does cause a bit of input lag (It doesn't bother me as long as I fix the other problem), but it doesn't have a Linux version.

I am using Bazzite.
