SelfSteam has been released in version v0.1.29.
SelfSteam is a headless web application for adding and editing non-Steam shortcuts from another device while the target machine stays in Game Mode: streaming services and websites as Steam shortcuts, game launchers, emulators from Flathub, and retro ROMs with automatic artwork lookup via SteamGridDB. The tool ships as a Flatpak for the Steam Deck and Steam Machines.
After version 0.1.28, v0.1.29 is now out. Preflight (controller setup without a detour through the emulator settings) is now available for every emulator, Play! runs in true fullscreen, and openMSX has been removed.
Preflight, which makes your controller work without going into emulator settings, is now available for every emulator on the Emulators tab.
Vita3K game folder functionality enhanced: initial launch installs the game and stops at the library; subsequent launches proceed directly into gameplay.
Play! now operates in proper fullscreen mode without menu or status bars, rendering at 1080p resolution.
The 1080p default extends to emulators installed by SelfSteam (such as Flycast), reapplied upon game launch.
The Create button no longer freezes after failed operations; interface now displays “Decompressing” before “Downloading” when both processes occur.
openMSX removed from the Emulators tab; MSX games remain accessible through RetroArch.
