SelfSteam has been released in version v0.1.28.
SelfSteam is a headless web application for adding and editing non-Steam shortcuts from another device while the target machine stays in Game Mode: streaming services and websites as Steam shortcuts, game launchers, emulators from Flathub, and retro ROMs with automatic artwork lookup via SteamGridDB. The tool ships as a Flatpak for the Steam Deck and Steam Machines.
Shortly after version 0.1.27, v0.1.28 arrives. The focus this time is sharper 3D graphics across many emulators, plus automatic archive unpacking.
Sharper 3D games by default. RetroArch emulators (N64, PlayStation, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, PSP, DS, 3DS) and standalone emulators (Dolphin, PCSX2, DuckStation, xemu, gopher64, M64Py, Flycast, melonDS, Azahar) now render at 1080p by default. User-configured resolutions remain unchanged.
Automatic archive unpacking: SelfSteam now extracts compressed files (.zip, .7z, .rar) to the same storage drive, moves the original archive to the recycle bin, and verifies available space beforehand. RetroArch games remain compressed since that emulator handles archives natively.
M64Py games now launch in fullscreen mode rather than within the application window.
File selection dialogs now display only compatible formats for the chosen emulator, preventing incompatible shortcuts and reducing console game confusion in RetroArch.
