SelfSteam: web tool for managing Steam shortcuts released in version 0.1.26

SelfSteam has been released in version v0.1.26.

SelfSteam is a headless web application for adding and editing non-Steam shortcuts from another device while the target machine stays in Game Mode: streaming services and websites as Steam shortcuts, game launchers, emulators from Flathub, and retro ROMs with automatic artwork lookup via SteamGridDB. The tool ships as a Flatpak for the Steam Deck and Steam Machines.

Shortly after version 0.1.25, v0.1.26 arrives. The Preflight feature for controller identification now also supports Cemu, gopher64, PCSX2, DuckStation and xemu. There are also improvements for Cemu, RetroArch and DuckStation.

  • Preflight (controller identification) now supports Cemu, gopher64, PCSX2, DuckStation and xemu in addition to the existing systems
  • Cemu skips its setup wizard on first launch, starts fullscreen using Vulkan, shows the GamePad screen separately, and configures audio properly to prevent freezing on Linux systems where Windows-only audio was previously selected
  • RetroArch: fixed games launching without working controllers because the app searched an empty profile directory
  • RetroArch: save files are now shared between different cores instead of being isolated by core name; savestates remain core-specific
  • DuckStation no longer prompts to add itself to the application menu on every launch
  • DuckStation: new “Additional files” picker for supplementary files such as .sbi files for LibCrypt games, extra .bin tracks, or .m3u-referenced discs
