SelfSteam has been released in version v0.1.24.
SelfSteam is a headless web application for adding and editing non-Steam shortcuts from another device while the target machine stays in Game Mode: streaming services and websites as Steam shortcuts, game launchers, emulators from Flathub, and retro ROMs with automatic artwork lookup via SteamGridDB. The tool ships as a Flatpak for the Steam Deck and Steam Machines.
Shortly after version 0.1.23, v0.1.24 arrives. It adds full Mario Kart Wii support, detects ROMs on external drives, and extends the controller preflight check.
Mario Kart Wii Support: Users can now select a Mario Kart Wii backup, and SelfSteam automatically installs Wheel Wizard and Dolphin, validates the disc, configures both applications, and generates a shortcut. Retro Rewind downloads on first launch (~1.8 GB).
External Drive ROM Browsing: RetroArch and emulator pickers now detect drives under /media, /mnt, /run/media, and /var/mnt, cycling between external drives and home folders rather than limiting to home only.
Controller Preflight Support: The “Enable preflight” controller check now works with Eden and Apps tab applications; the emulator picker indicates which entries support this feature.
Eden Optimization: Lists only CPU-matched builds instead of requiring manual selection from four options.
Dolphin Improvements: Launches fullscreen and disables the recurring usage statistics dialog that was difficult to dismiss via controller.
Bug Fixes: Resolved the preflight toggle resetting during ROM/DLC folder browsing and improved UI spacing in file pickers.
