Kona: Patch #2 with update to Unity Engine 5.6 released
Today the Patch #2 to the mix of open-world adventure and survival game named Kona has been released for Linux on Steam.
It contains a lot of improvements and bugfixes, and also an update to Unity Engine 5.6. According to the developers it should therefore run better on PCs with a not-so-powerful CPU.
Hey everyone!
An update for Kona has just been released!
FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Here’s a list of bug fixes and improvements that come with the patch:
We removed two loading screens (on bridges, when leaving the General Store area)
You can now delete photos (by clicking on a picture, a small window will open and let you choose)
Mouse smoothing option has been added in the controls options
In the same option menu, we also added an option to enable/disable autosaves
We fixed unresponsive mouse and trackpad clicks in menus (when you have a touch screen)
The yellow arrow in the middle of radial menus is now aligned accordingly
We fixed a screen resolution display issue for Mac and Linux, which always showed the same resolution. This prevented players who changed it of bringing it back to its default value
The first journal entry of “The Hunt” is now triggered automatically when approaching instead of direct interaction
We fixed a rare bug in which the player would complete the game in daylight when loading a checkpoint at a specific moment and location.
We fixed a rare bug that would let the combat music continue at the end instead of changing for the end credits song.
We fixed the invisible mouse cursor on Linux
Many textures and collision fixes
Other minor bug fixes and optimizationsAlso, we updated Unity 3D engine (version 5.6) and here are some important notes about how it affects the game:
Graphics settings will be reset to their default value. Before playing, make sure to set them back to your own preferences
If you own a computer with a not-so-powerful CPU, but with a good GPU, the game should run better than before
Some visual effects and materials have changed a little (they were not compatible with the new version of Unity)
Cloths have been temporarily deactivated due to unusual crashes. Most have been replaced with animations, others will be fixed in the next patchUPCOMING CHANGES & KNOWN ISSUES
And here’s a short list of what to expect in the next months:
We will add Russian language for texts, interface and subtitles
We will add an option to enable/disable quick loading screens between areas
More optimizations and bug fixes, as always ;)
