Help getting 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth working
I need help getting the 8bitdo ultimate working on NixOS. It works on my NixOS mini PC and my Phone just fine but not on the desktop for some odd reason.
I sadly lost the USB receiver and the USB port, broke otherwise I would just use that :/
Thanks In advance!

Can launch game only once before needing to switch proton-version
I want to play Final Fantasy 16 but I can only launch it once, when I try to launch it a second time it just hangs. I can "fix" this by switching proton version which makes the game boot once, although I have to compile shaders every time so it is very tedious. I used "PROTON_LOGS=1" to gather some logs, and a specific log is being spammed after a bunch of other logs, I'll paste the log-spam here :
Logs right before spam:

I have tried with and without the FFXVIFix mod, I tried deleting vkd3d-proton.cache in the game install directory and have tried multiple different environment variables. Ill post my current ones just to show:

Does anyone here know why this might be happening? Ill past the full proton-logs below:

Dualbooting win and linux from portable ssd
So Im gonna probably soon get a new gaming laptop and i want to use both linux (nobara) and windows 11. Some people have big problems with grub, that its disappeering because of windows overwriting the boot loader and then they cant boot linux and in worst scenarios even windows. Many people use 2 hard drives to aboid this problem but its not really possible or easy to do on laptop. My idea was to use a external ssd that i just plug into my laptop with usb and have windows installed on it and whenever i want to play a game that is not available on linux like cs2 faceit, fortnite, lol etc, i just plug it in and boot from the external drive. Is it possible and worth it? Also how to do it if possible?

Xbox controller not (fully) working
Hi everyone,
after recent updates to my arch system it seems that my xbox controller is not working as it should with steam. i can use it in the steam ui and in big picture as well as in game but only to recall the steam overlay, i can't move anything else in game. i tried with my old controller (also an xbox controller) and it worked the same so i guess it's because of an update to either bluedevil or steam itself which i updated recently...
what i tried up to now: i tried both using the controller cabled (to exclude bluedevil) and reinstalling steam. it seems that the controller works the same even cabled so it may not be a bluetooth issue. about reinstalling steam nothing changed...
Does anyone have the same issue?

TF2 render issue?
Yesterday, I installed Cinnamon Mint on my computer, but I've noticed some weird lines in the distance when I play TF2 (They are a little hard to see on the video). Could it be some rendering issue? I have a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and I'm using the NVIDIA driver nvidia-driver-580-open version 580.65.06-0ubuntu0.24.04.4

SteamVR, Quest 2 & Debian Trixie
I have a PC that used to run Debian Bookworm, I had installed ALVR on to a Quest 2 and that PC and was able to connect and use it.
The AMD RX 7900 XTX would suffer and occasional desktop hang, which was fixed in a kernel release so I pulled the kernel and mesa drivers from backports. When I upgraded to Trixie I did make sure the backport libraries were updated.
I noticed recently SteamVR and the Quest 2 Steam Application allow a connection through the Application however each time I attempt this SteamVR connects then then throws an '450 Error, you may need to upgrade your graphics card drivers'.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need, or how to diagnose the issue. Most of my google results are windows users being told to update Nvidia drivers.
