I built a super small Minecraft launcher because I couldn't find one I liked (1.4 MB, offline, Rust) - looking for feedback

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 30 Dec 2025 - 1:17am

A few months ago I started this project because I was looking for a Minecraft launcher that was truly simple and lightweight: fully offline mode (no Microsoft login), support for multiple instances and native Fabric installation, a modern UI, and all in a tiny binary.

I couldn't find anything that quite fit what I wanted, so I decided to build it myself in pure Rust, using Relm4 and libadwaita. The result is RCraft: the static binary is only about 1.4 MB (AppImage).

Current features:

  • 100% offline mode
  • Multiple instance management
  • Native Fabric installation
  • Clean UI with version selector, RAM settings, etc.

Simple demo

I have zero interest in monetizing it or anything like that... I'm just developing it because I think there are people out there (like me a few months ago) looking for something like this: a simple launcher with no extra complications, that just works well and stays lightweight. If someone was searching for exactly this, I hope they find it and it helps them.

The project is still pretty new, so any feedback would help me a ton... What features are missing? Does it work well on your distro? Any ideas for improvements? All comments, positive or negative, are very welcome.

How to play Overwatch 2 on Linux with a GTX 1650 Super

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 30 Dec 2025 - 1:13am

Hello, I was hoping you could help me. I have a PC with a GTX 1650 Super. I particularly like Linux and have been using Debian, and I'd like to know if there's any way to run Overwatch 2 smoothly with my 1650 Super. I've installed different devs, and every time I run the game, I get problems like flickering on the menu screen, out-of-sync audio, and the cursor not moving to the correct position. I play other games without any issues, but Overwatch is practically the only multiplayer game I enjoy, and I haven't been able to leave Windows because it's the only way I can play it without problems. If anyone has the same graphics card and could share some launch parameter settings or knows how to run it without errors, it would be a huge help.
