How do I set Sonic Adventure 2 to launch with the Mod Manager on Steam Deck?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 22:41

I have SA1 set up with the mod manager, which was perfectly easy and worked fine. Whenever I launch SA1, it opens straight into the mod manager.

My question is, do I have to have two seperate installs of the mod manager for the two games? It seems like it was designed to be able to launch either game via a selector, but that wouldn't work because I can only open the manager by opening SA1 and can't do it independently.

Does anyone know how I can set up the Mod Manager for both SA1 and SA2 on Steam Deck?

Wahoo SYSTM - how do I get it to run?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 22:17

Hi everyone,

I’ve been testing Fedora and EndeavourOS and managed to set them up in a way I’m mostly happy with. However, I’m still struggling with one issue: getting my Smart Bike training app, Wahoo SYSTM, to work.

I couldn’t get it to install via Lutris, but I managed to run it directly through Wine. Unfortunately, Bluetooth doesn’t work in this setup, even though I can pair the Smart Bike with the OS itself.

Does anyone have a solution for this, other than running Windows in a VM?

SYSTM is a relatively simple app: it streams videos and communicates with the Smart Bike via Bluetooth to send resistance, cadence, and power data. From an abstract perspective, it’s not that different from a fancy Bluetooth controller.

I also tried adding the app to Steam, but no luck there either. The app is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. I assume the Windows version is the only viable option here for desktop use.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

are USB 2.0 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 Header Adapter a viable option for the front panel connection?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 22:13

My mobo does not offer a USB 3.2 connector and all I have is a USB 2.0. Will Linux be able to read the data that I’m trying to transfer or will it be capped at a certain speed. Mainly asking will there be a problem at all over this decision?

CoreCtrl: Can we actually just simply type "vrmonitor" as the executable that activates the profile?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 21:42

At 7:40 of this video:

He simply types the name "vrmonitor" rather than using the button to choose an executable file. Is that the right way to do it? I'm overthinking this and making sure because I don't want to mess anything up, and also because I don't know how to find the executable in the file manager anyway yet lol

How do I fix this issue?

I have an intel arc a770 (16gb). I usually am a windows user but I bought WWE 2K24 a few days ago and I kept getting the GPU_Device_Removed error. One solution someone recommended on a steam page was to install linux and play with wine. I made a dual boot on my PC with Windows and Linux and installed WWE 2K24 with it and now I get this error every time I start the game with the game and it pressing "ok" just closes the game and doesnt let me play at all. Please advise.

Thank you in advance

CS2 doesn't launch on Arch Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 19:31

So I've been trying to play CS2 on arch linux and it just doesn't launch. When I click on the play button the game turns to running and in 2 seconds it goes back to the same old green play button without any crash logs or popups. I have tried installing nvidia drivers, vulkan, solutions from several forums and adding custom flags on launch but doesn't seem to work.

My config- OS - arch linux WM - dwm Display server - X11 GPU - RTX 4050ti mobile

Also I ran it through steam runtime and not proton.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 19:21

https://youtu.be/tdR-bxvQKN8?si=yVmy5PZ0awBCuT1b

I run Nvidia RTX 2060, i5 6600k with Bazzite and it just runs everything i throw at it using Steam and Lutris.

Still, love to see SteamOS getting more traction.

CS2 Stuck at Blackscreen with Valve red logo

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 04. Januar 2025 - 19:09

Hello there

Seems like a bug or something of the sort is that when i first boot up my computer and decide to launch CS2 on steam flatpak.. It usually runs but after i exit the game and decide later to come back when i launch the image is stuck on black background with Valve red font logo. And i hear only the first sound from the game and thats it no sounds after that its just stuck.. I cannot even stop the process on steam. I need to sigkill the cs2. Process itself so it stops.. I did some research for this but nothing comes up for the issue.. Mainly i switched to flatpak to solve some issues i was having with Native Steam like the sound cutting out on CS2 in mid match but it seems fixing an issue and bringing another major one.. Anyhelp will be appreciated
