Hello everyone,

I just noticed that the temps of my "XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition" are rather high for my taste. As you can see, memory climbs up to 92°C while streaming + gaming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, Squad etc.

My question is, are these temps still safe? I have read that 90°C already is rather toasty for the memory, others say it is fine and it makes me feel uneasy.

Hey,

So I've installed and set up my new RX 9070 and it's working great. I happened to come across a 1050ti and wanted to see if I could run it in conjuction for PhysX support.

For context, I am using Debian 13, kernel 6.17.3, mesa 25.0.7-2, and just installed the NVIDIA 880.126.16 driver.

My questions:

1) How do I tell my system/game to use the 1050ti for PhysX? So far it seems like it's only using my RX 9070, but the PhysX in some games (Control) seem to be better? But that may just be wishful thinking. I've tried running nvidia-smi while in a game that I think is using PhysX for smoke particles (Cyberpunk 2077) and it said no processes were present for the NVIDIA card. I tried to do the same in Control and since I can't have another window open while playing the game, I couldn't get a true read on it.

2) How can I monitor both cards to make sure they are being utilized? I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to monitoring GPU performance and whatnot so any and all help would be appreciated. Please also point out where I can see temps as well.

3) More of a hardware question: I have about 2 inches of clearance between the cards (RX 9070 on top) and have two fans blowing from the front to the back with 2 outtakes fans as well. Do you think that's enough for cooling? Don't imagine the 1050ti will generate that much heat given it'll only be used for PhysX, but again, I'm a newb.

I'm on Nobara. I launched BeamNG .drive through steam and it said preparing vulkan shaders or something. Forgot about it and went to to something else. About 1h15 later, i came back to my PC and started doing other stuff then the game window popped up in my face... IT TOOK MORE THAN AN HOUR TO PREPARE VULKAN SHADERS!!! So long that i forgot i even launched the game.. What am i doing Wrong?

Other games should now be detected automatically instead of it just being Bethesda titles.

FOMOD And OMOD are now supported and should work.

Root Builder should work and is now ported over to disable the windows version of Root Builder. Its off by default so you will have to go to the settings and enabled it. It uses Reflink Copy and copy as a fallback and symlinks for the link mode.

INI creation should now work as intended and should no longer cause any issues when using use profile specific INIs. With INI recovery also supported.

You can now open an existing portable, instead of using a command in the instance switcher. As well as placing portable installs wherever you want at the end of it. Fluorine will continue to open the portable instance until you change it.

Added a better VFS recovery and mounting option in case the application crashes.

You can now also pick where you prefix goes, and installs too. Along with an improved fix game registries button.

Finaly switch to nobara linux after having trouble with windows for awhile and it was just getting annoying so I switch to linux and now everything works and im good to just leave windows 11 i downloaded all my files from one drive deleted them from there and now everything self local and download all my games my wifi and Bluetooth literally works on linux but not windows like what the hack is got my new pc and I couldn't even use wifi or Bluetooth I had to use a ethernet for wifi and I even reinstalled windows 3 times I literally got a brand new pc and windows couldn't even work properly like come on windows 11 it was like that from day one when I got my pc but the mean reason is why im posting is just to say windows 11 is trash and it sucks go linux

Hi!

I'm having an issue with my new Acer XV240Y monitor. I was running Garuda Linux without any problems on a Janus monitor i had, but since I switched to the new monitor, everything feels slow—not just games, but the entire desktop experience..

My setup: MSI Cyborg 15 A12V, Intel Core i7, and RTX 4060 GPU. Does this have something to do with Nvidia drivers ? Any solutions? Thanks!

After this post removal https://www.reddit.com/r/linux\_gaming/s/bqWXpMKWSK (one of the biggest launches this year) and the mod comment about it not being “native”, this sub is just now 99% tech support then? With the occasional news about Mesa and Proton directly.

Respectfully mods, this is stupid. Are we really going back to the line of Proton isn’t Linux gaming now? That’ll really help Linux gaming adoption…

Distro and DE: CachyOS with KDE Plasma 6.5.5.
Launcher: HGL (Heroic Games Launcher) GOG Version.

Keyboard Wooting 60HE+ with ISO DE german layout.

So the issue is that the game somehow still assumes that I have a US/English layout where especially main keys like "y" and "z" are swapped on the ISO german layout compared to the US layout, hence why the german is also known as "qwertz" layout I believe.

What's weird: On the desktop my layout is beeing utilized correctly as the ISO DE german keyboard layout, even if I do not have a specific keyboard language set up in the keyboard settings section.

I've force the game's localization to be also "german" in HGL by setting up the prefered game language to "de". Also furthermore I've tried via Winetricks to force the german keyboard layout through the registryeditor under following path: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> keyboard layout and the file with it's name as simply "1" to put in the value for the german keyboard layout which is: "00000407".

And now I've exhausted all possible solution for this issue. I am really do not know any further what should I do, because just rebinding both keys isn't a ideal way or solution to me, I really want to get this fixed but I really do not how.

I hope someone might help me, thanks in advance guys :)

Hello guys, I'm looking for an app like sonar for my linux setup. im looking for it to make virtual outputs, just like sonar has, like gaming, chat, midia etc... Is there any alternative for linux? I tried using Pulsemeeter and it just gave me a headache and didnt worked the virtual outputs.

So in the new update supposedly they added FSR4 support, but I can't get it to appear in the menu with PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 in Steam, already tried deleting the prefix and creating it again.

With any other game, the Proton env var works just fine to get FSR4 so it shouldn't be a Proton/Mesa version problem, but here's the info: I tested it with Proton Experimental, Proton-GE 10.24 and 10.30; using Mesa 25.3.5 and Linux 6.18.9

Edit: And I set the game to use DirectX 12 (Beta)

When playing Detroit: Become Human, the game crashes with error:

Your graphics card encountered a problem with Detroit:Become Human (VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST). If the problem persists, please upgrade your driver. The game will now exit

I own this game on Steam and I have tried to run with different versions of Proton, but the game still crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Specs:

OS: PopOS 24.04

CPU: Intel Core i5-12450HX

RAM: 24GB

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3050 laptop GPU with 6GB RAM

Nvidia driver: 580.119.02

So kinda a Weird Bug/Error which im unsure if its due to Lutris being Lutris but before i make a Report over at Github i thought itd just ask over here :D

Basically ive connected my GOG Account with Lutris, Installed TEW to my SSD and then boom Game gives me an Error when trying to boot XD
Weirdly enough it starts automatically in Full Screen just out of nowhere and after that Error appears :P

So yea is anything just wrong with my Lutris Flatpak or my Game Installs? >.>

hello, i recently bought Doom The Dark Ages, and knowing that most games on linux run perfectly, i decided to play it, but on the title screen after pressing the spacebar the game froze, and after some time the music stopped playing, i tried switching proton versions but to no avail, but i got a log from Proton 10.0-4 that i have done to help out and most propably find the issue and fix it, it will be in the replies as a mediafire link
