VRR Isn't Working
I am attempting to get VRR working on my Hyprland desktop. VRR doesn't work in Gnome or KDE, either.
I have tried both monitor= DP-3, 2560x1440@300, 0x0, 1, bitdepth, 10, cm, auto, vrr, 1
and misc {
vrr = 1
}
but running hyprctl monitors always returns vrr: false.
Here is my hyprctl monitors output
Monitor DP-3 (ID 0): 2560x1440@300.00101 at 0x0 description: Microstep MAG 274 X30MV CF0H075500037 make: Microstep model: MAG 274 X30MV serial: CF0H075500037 active workspace: 1 (1) special workspace: 0 () reserved: 0 45 0 0 scale: 1.00 transform: 0 focused: yes dpmsStatus: 1 vrr: false solitary: 0 activelyTearing: false directScanoutTo: 0 disabled: false currentFormat: XRGB2101010 mirrorOf: noneDoes anyone have any ideas? I have been able to troubleshoot everything else, except for VRR. Please note that Adaptive-Sync is turned on in my monitor's OSD.

Black Screen for Unity Games
If I try to play a Unity game with wine, I only have a black screen. If it is 3D I have many black fragments and only a few hints what could be an object.
I am using Debian 13 with [AMD/ATI] Navi 32 [Radeon RX 7700 XT / 7800 XT] and Debian provided drivers (firmware-amd-graphics) on Wayland.
Can someone help me debugging what's going on and how to fix it?

VR gaming in Linux
Visual bug when playing Hollow Knight
In Hollow Knight i sometimes get this visual bug like in the screenshot. This bug randomly occurs when entering a new room. Sometimes leaving and reentering the room fixes this, but not always. As you can see, the UI is perfectly fine, also when opening the menu/inventory.
I have a feeling that is has something to do with my Linux OS, because i've never seen this on my Windows pc, but i have no evidence.
My OS is Fedora 42 KDE Plasma and my hardware is a Thinkpad L14 Gen5 AMD. I have my proton settings in Steam set to Proton Hotfix.

Is there any easy-to-setup Crossplatform Linux/Windows program for creating a remote LAN for gaming (like Hamachi, Game ranger...) ?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been gaming on Linux for years (including online multiplayer), but recently some friends of mine (on Windows) and I have been trying to find a way to play old PC games together over LAN remotely. Back in the day, stuff like Hamachi or GameRanger was the go-to solution.
The problem is, I can’t find any solid cross-platform (Linux/Windows) alternatives these days.
The most important thing is that it should be Linux/Windows comoatible and really easy to set up, since not all of my friends are comfortable with the terminal or complex configurations.
Does anyone know of any tools or services that could help us out?
Thanks in Advance!

Genshin impact problem again
Error code 10010-4001 data error
I'm on heroic game launcher and I know about the AAGL thing but the issue is that I have to linux version of genshin (idk if that's a thing but when I tired to locate genshin files I got from a windows pc through a SSD it said that this files are not compatible with this version of the launcher)
And for AAGL I'll have to reinstall the game which is something I dont want to do as I have slow internet.
Is there any other fix available yet

Assetto Corsa crashing after I tried installing content manager on Linux Mint.
I saw a tutorial on how to do it, followed all the steps, even got it to run, though I couldn't find the game root since the launcher didn't see the ".local" where steam is. After that I deleted the manager and returned to the normal one, now every time I launch it it asks for .net frameworks 4.8, I click no like I usually do, then a black screen flashes and crashes. I updated the system a few hours ago.

Desktop Files from Steam are in wrong path
Hello,
whenever I create a Desktop shortcut in Steam, the .desktop file is created in ~/Desktop, does anyone know if there's a way to tell steam to store them in ~/.local/share/applications?

Wuthering Waves with Gamescope – Can it Match Lossless Scaling on Windows?
I’m relatively new to Linux gaming. My PC configuration is a Ryzen 5 5600G, 16GB Corsair DDR4 3200MHz RAM, no dedicated graphics card, and a 1600×900 monitor. As expected, I get low FPS in certain areas of Wuthering Waves. On Windows, Lossless Scaling was a big help—it gave me around 60 FPS in most areas. Unfortunately, Lossless Scaling is Windows-only, and I can’t run it with Wine since it can’t interfere once Proton handles the display translation.
I recently came across Gamescope, which seems to work similarly to Lossless Scaling, but I’m not sure how to set it up or whether it can give me the same (or even better) results.
For reference, I’m using Arch Linux.

High resolution mouse overscrolling in Counter Strike 2.
EndeavorOS. I just got a Logitech G502. it works fine in desktop use, scrolling is fine and as expected.
However in CS2, when run natively, a single scroll dent input, just one notch, sends like 10 scroll inputs to the game. I have tried setting the libinput quirks to AttrScrollDiscrete=1, and ive tried changing settings with imwheel, and nothing works, It seems like source 2 is reading raw mouse inputs and interpreting the 10 or so +15 high_res outputs my mouse sends as multiple inputs.
I also cant use the scroll wheel in any menus, settings for example, nothing happens when i scroll up or down.
If i boot cs2 with a compatibility layer such as Proton Experimental, then it fixes the overshoot scroll issue, but now i am getting dropped scroll inputs.
Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Linux distribution for gaming
Hi,
I think post like this was here at least 1000 times, but why not have it one more time :)
Something about my backgroung.
I am programmer with about decade of experience with programming, out of which about 2-3 years of experience with linux programming, so some config files will not scare me. But I am totally inocent regarding "gaming ready linux distributions".
And this is what I am asking you about.
Games I am playing are: World of Warcraft, Hearts of Iron 4, Europa Universalis 4 (soon also 5), Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Other programs I need for my daily routine are: Brave browser, Discord, VLC.
I am asking you to suggest you to me some good linux distribution oriented on gaming. I recently did see video from JayzyTwoCents (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa8nMiEoti0) - and it looks good, but I want to hear some other experience, because my experience are limited to debian, ubuntu and some fanatically secured undisloced (private repo) linux distro.
And to not forget, I need that distribution to be able smoothy to be dualboot. I still have some programs on windows where there is no good replacement on linux and I can not accept some "less quality stuff". So dualboot is must-have.
