Force steam/Proton to lock curser to game?
Figured i've give Chivalry 2 a shot, and it runs pretty well for the most part. My only issue seems to be the curser not locking to the game, and drifiting over to my other monitor. I'm wondering if it's possible to force games to lock curser via steam/proton or some alternative option? Or an idea of how i can just fix Chiv would be awesome. Tried different proton versions, dx11/12, as well as full screen/windowed.
OS: Nobora 39

Great way to use games on linux
PLEASE NOTE, THIS DOES NOT USUALLY WORK FOR GAMES THAT NEED A SEPARATE INSTALLER
also probably alot of people will know this but yeah
If you have steam and proton compatibility tools then you can
- download the file, wont work yet but trust the process
- go to your steam library page, look at the bottom left, theres an icon that says "Add a game"
- click it and then it will give three options, one should say "add a non steam game" click that one
- it should pull up a window, in the bottom left of this new window there should be a button that says "browse" click that and it will open files, and you can get to the file from there
- once youve selected it and added it, you can search for it and click the gear icon, go to properties
- on the opening page of the properties area there should be a section to edit name and icon, do that if ya wanna but afterwards go to the left and click on compatibility
- click the box that says "force use of compatibility tool" and then you should be able to use the sofware you set out to
Hope this helps!

How does P2V work?
CONTEXT: So I play a lot of games with the root level anti cheat (LoL, Genshin, Honkai, etc.) but I've been able to play those games on Linux until just recently (they either added an anti cheat or patched it where Linux couldn't run it anymore). The thing is I still have a SEPARATE SSD that contains Windows 10 and my games.
So my question is: Is there a way to set up my Windows drive to show up on my Linux OS (so like a VM?) AND would this comply with the kernel level anti cheat? By the way, I do have enough parts to have a second PC, but I would like to keep the parts I'm using as minimal as possible.

Everything just... works?
TLDR: First time using linux in a hybrid laptop, and with a nvidia gpu. Everything strangely just works.
Recently i acquired a Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6, with a Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3050, and as my first laptop after being on desktop for so long, obviously my first tought was to install Linux.
I already used it in my pc, to the point i consider myself a average user, but only with AMD hardware, so not only this is my first time using a Nvidia GPU, but also using a hybrid GPU laptop. I choose Nobara because i was already using Fedora and Nobara has a kernel fix for my laptop built-in, and also didn´t feel like messing with drivers or post-install shenanigans to make a gaming setup.
And, after 2 days, everything strangely just works out of the box (keyboard brightness, wifi, bluetooth, webcam, sleep and fn keys, including a fn shortcut to change power profiles, and even using a external monitor with different refresh rate), even the hybrid GPU or Nvidia with Wayland on KDE, which i thought would be major headaches, just work flawlessly.
Really, the desktop environment has evolved in a incredible way.
But, as a true Linux user, i shall distro hop again when Cosmic is out.
This has laptop has a 120hz, it's better than my 75hz's pc monitor lol
Even Ray Tracing work flawlessly (just the fact that you can't ask much of a 3050)
And DLSS too, although that required a few commands on launch options, but protondb got me covered

NVIDIA 555.52.04 - NVIDIA's Newest Beta Driver is now out
Apex legends is stuttering at the beginning of match
Hey! I have problems with Apex legends. Game runs smoothly in general, but it still seems to stutter at the beginning of every match. Stuttering happends from 2 to 3 times and it is getting really frustrating at this point when this happends during fights. When this stuttering happends the game sets FPS to 1 and all the game server actions are delayd.
When I am landing it also bugs out everyone who are attached to me and my characters is at the same position during the stuttering. Meanwhile all the enemies get to land faster to ground even though I had started landing before my enemies did.
Some essential things to know
- Vsync is off (in-game and from Nvidia settings)
- Apex launch options are "-preload -dev +fps_max 500 -forcenovsync -fullscreen"
- Nvidia driver version 535.171.04
- I am using Proton experimental
My computer specs are
- OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
- RTX 3090
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- 32GB RAM
- 3 screens connected (60hz, 165hz, 60hz)
I literally have tried everything to fix this, but at this point I just cant figure it out. I would really appreciate it if anyone would have any suggestions how to fix this problem. Thank you in advance!

AAA Gameing
Have a query about AAA gaming on Linux....
Is there any AAA games that is native to Linux or has a native version? Barring that is there any games that rival AAA titles from lower level developers? All the games I have heard of seem to be indie games and from indie game developers.
I know some games will run with WINE, some need Proton and like, I am not asking about those. Not asking about a Windows game that you can get to run, and I'm not asking about a Mac game and get to run. Asking about native implementations / compiles of games.
Thank you for your time....

Diablo 4 VRAM leak, help needed
Hello everyone, I recently installed d4 on linux and tried on different distros, my computer can run it no issues on windows but on linux I got this annoying problem: once the vram gets filled up the game either crashes or the textures gets corrupted/not loading. This happens with textures setting on high, which my rig can handle very well.
ryzen 7 3700x
rtx 3080 10gb
32 gb ram
CachyOS 6.9.3-2 kernel
Running d4 on lutris, I'm currently on the latest nvidia beta drivers and wayland, but running it on x11 or with the stable drivers makes no difference, has been going on for more than a month now.
If you found a fix to this memory leak problem please let me know, I really don't want to go back to windows.

I have a GeForce RTX 3070 which I will keep and I am running Linux Mint 21.2. Any thoughts on compatibility? Any one running one of these ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming motherboards under Linux? Mint?

Overwatch 2 not working properly on Fedora 40
Hi! Overwatch 2 seems to start and work fine for the first couple of moments, but then gets stuck "walking". My keyboard input seems to freeze, as I can no longer change the movement directions or enter the settings, etc. After about a minute of automatically walking, the game then freezes and has to be force quit.
Steam is installed via the RPM package (due to compatibility with controllers, etc.) and I tried using
Proton Experimental, Proton 9-6, Proton 8-32, Proton 7.0-6 and GE-Proton 9-6 and GE-Proton 8-32. No settings seem to have an effect on this behaviour and tbh I'm stumped on how to continue.
System is a Ryzen 3700x and a 6800xt on 32 gb ram.

Steam games and Dual Boot
Question: I am looking to make a new install, dual booting Windows 10 and Linux Mint. I will have a separate, dedicated 2TB SSD for my Steam Library. Can both Windows 10 and Linux Mint use the same Steam SSD to play games off of?

Dualsense/Dualshock/Edge Buttons on XDefiant
Hi all, just want to ask if any of you had figured out on how to show the correct Dualsense/Dualshock/Edge buttons on the game instead of the Xbox ABXY buttons. I tried searching but can't find any fixes. I tried running Ubisoft Connect from Heroic to Steam then disable the Steam Input support but still no go. Also the press on the touchpad on the Dualsense/Dualshock/Edge controller has a different mapping inside the game. Any suggestions regarding this? Thanks!
