I installed bazzite today and my intel 9900k doesn’t boost it stays at stock 3.6Ghz. If anyone has a solution please help! I really like bazzite!

Was about to give windows a fresh install and figured fuck it I haven't tried linux in 5yrs, might as well see how it's doing again. Everybody loves to shit on windows, but objectively, everytime I give a new distro a try, I'm problem solving shit/games I otherwise would never have to. I never have the problems people love to complain about with Windows, shit just works, so I expect at least that much on Linux. Sometimes I think people just don't have an opinion of their own or have themselves to blame.

Anyway, blah blah blah, which distros are going to have all windows games working perfectly out of the box with no trouble shooting and better fps? I'm on a laptop if that matters.

Just a quick setting change that massively improved my experience. I have a fresh Mint installation, and it felt like all of my Steam games were stuttering, despite having a perfect 60 fps, CPU, GPU, and RAM being at half load.

I went to System Settings -> General -> Disable Compositing for Fullscreen Windows. you want to make sure it is checked on. Ghosts of Tsushima is now immediately a perfect experience, and Elden Ring is almost playable.

Necesito ayuda para correr Peak en linux. Específicamente la versión de onlinefix. He intentado añadirlo a Steam pero no me abre con ninguna versión de proton. En todos los casos me da un error “No License”

También intenté abrirlo en Lutris y en este caso me abre pero se queda roto en la pantalla de elección de micrófono.

Si alguien a podido jugar la versión de onlinefix de PEAK en Linux, por favor ayúdenme.

ChachyOS user here.

Just wanted to ask a question regarding xpadneo since it's hard to find any specific answers. I have an Xbox series X controller and it connects just fine (albeit with the occasional input drop but it's manageable) but for some reason steam registers it as an Xbox 360 controller, and I think it's driver related. Is there any way to change the Xpadneo settings to make it to series X or Xbox one instead? Mainly asking because I use my PC as a console as it's hooked up to my PC and I use steam big picture, and can't use the quick access menu when the controller thinks it's a 360 controller.

I’m honestly starting to feel like I’m going crazy with this issue.

A few months ago I could play Hunt: Showdown without any problems on Linux, but now I get full display freezes almost every match.

What happens:

• Both monitors completely freeze (image stuck)
• Game audio continues normally
• Discord keeps working (I can hear and talk to people)
• After a few seconds I have to alt-tab and kill the game
• Happens almost every round

While gaming temps are fine (<70°C CPU & GPU). I capped the fps to 144 and I'm playing on low settings. Additionally, I don't encounter this problem in any other game.

System:

• OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS (also tested Pop!_OS 24.04 -> same issue)
• Kernel: 6.8.0-106-generic
• Display server: X11
• CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X
• GPU: RTX 3080
• Nvidia Drivers tested:
  • 565.57.01
  • 570.211.01
  • 580.105.08
• Proton versions tested:
  • GE-Proton10-33
  • Proton Hotfix
  • Proton Experimental
  • Proton 9.0-4

È un problema molto noto che non sono riuscito ancora a fixare e paticamente il gioco non si carica e non si avvia se il framerate supera i 30 FPS. Da quello che ho capito è un problema solo di Nvidia su Linux. Sapete se c'è qualche modo per fixare?

Hello everyone!

I started playing Death Stranding 2 and faced some performance issues.

My avg FPS is aprox 60, but 1% like 30. And I have not so bad PC. My specs are:

- AMD Ryzen 7600x

- AMD Radeon 9070xt

- 32 GB RAM CL32, 6000 MHz

- SSD

I am using Arch Linux, Mesa 1.26.0.3, ProtonGE-10-33.

I've tried Proton 10.4, Proton Hotfix and Proton Experimental - same performance.

Maybe somebody already faced these issues or maybe the game just heavily CPU bound and my CPU is not enough.

While tweaking settings in Crimson Desert i enabled the DLSS Debug Info overlay one time. However now it remains every time i start up the game even tho i've cleared the launch options! Any idea how i remove it again?

OS: Nobara Linux 43 (KDE Plasma Desktop Edition)

pressing play on the games makes them "run" as in steam says theyre running but then nothing happens and the button becomes green again (except for cs2 but it has a native version so im guessing thats what solves it for that game in particular)

steam itself launches and works fine

manually launching the games with wine works somehow (but steam doesnt see it as running)

changing nvidia drivers didnt do anything (535 apparently have an issue with proton 8 but using 580 and 570 didnt fix it either (cant install the other drivers at all (except nouveau but that breaks a lot more stuff)))

proton is enabled (tried versions : experimental / hotfix / v10 / v9 / v8 / v7 / ge10)

mint 22.3 / cinammon 6.6.7 / kernel 6.17.0-19 / x11 / gtx 1070 (idk what more info to give i doubt my cpu has anything to do with it)

Mirror's Edge Catalyst crashes ~20 seconds after launch, EA app IGO injection error [Arch, Proton Experimental]

so this game worked fine, i was like halfway through, and now it just dies every time. EA app opens, game starts loading, then poof.

exit code is 0x00000003, and EASteamProxy.log has this gem:

IGO Injection Error. This could happen in case the game is IGO denied, which aborts DLL loading.

...

Game process terminated with code[0x00000003]

interestingly the proxy log also says steamProxy.launch.success right before that, so the game does launch, it just dies 20 seconds in.

system: arch linux, kernel 6.19.6-arch1-1, RX 6700 XT, proton experimental

what i've tried:

multiple proton versions (experimental, GE — GE crashes instantly)

wiped compatdata multiple times

every launch option combo imaginable

deleted IGO dlls, put them back

re-authenticated EA app manually

steam account is properly linked to EA

EA app itself seems fine, authenticates, CEF has some ERR_ABORTED on checkout.ea.com but direct HTTP to EA servers returns 200. feels like something broke on EA's end recently. anyone else hit this?

IDK what changed. Yesterday i had artifacting and had to use Proton Hotfix to avoid weird rainbow artifacts. I couldn't use FSR4 or HDR because of this. Just now i re tested using Proton-Cachy os with HDR enabled along with RT and everything looks amazing. Performance is great. I'm on a 9070xt using Cachy os for reference. I'm happily putting hrs in now. Iv played on W11 as well and performance is literally a few % off. This is great news.

Hey there! It's been almost three months since I switched to Linux (Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS) on my Asus Zenbook UX3405CA. I wanted to try out gaming here , as I always thought of Windows as the only gaming compatible OS. So I installed Heroic launcher and then connected it to my epic games account and installed Styx Master of Shadows on it. Upon installing, I switched the setting to Proton and it was almost unplayable. The cutscenes were very laggy, and the gameplay stuttered quite often. And during certain animations, like opening a door, the frame rates dropped to as less as 12 fps, same as the cut scenes fps. Any idea why this is happening and if it is fixable?

The CS2 menu loads fine (although still a bit laggy) however when I attempt to load up a match, it crashes and exits. Are there any configurations needed specifically for this? I'm using an iGPU only (Intel Core Ultra 7 155H) on Ubuntu 24.04. I've seen benchmarks for this processor running around 100fps on low (Windows).

Hello everyone! So I made a previous post about my keyboard which is the ATOM HE68 PRO

The keyboard is advertised as being able to work on Linux using web drivers (The non-pro version worked wonders)

But if you've read my previous post, you would find I had a couple of problems as the web driver did not recognize my keyboard.

Well, after some digging I may have found the issue, and I want your help on what I can do

So from what I discovered, on Windows, it gives me 4 HID devices

But on Linux it only gives me 3 HID devices

even though when using lsusb -v The device clearly has 4 interfaces:

Linux creates 3 working hidraws, but interface 4 does not bind correctly. This is what I get from the dmesg -w:
usbhid 1-6:1.3: couldn't find an input interrupt endpoint

So with this I want to ask, does anyone have any fixes for this? since it appears that the configurator needs the fourth HID

What can i do?
