HelixSR: DLSS upscaling and frame generation for AMD GPUs released in version 2.0.0

HelixSR has been released in version 2.0.0.

The tool brings DLSS upscaling and frame generation to non-NVIDIA graphics cards through a single DLL.

Frame generation and upscaling now run in one FidelityFX DLL. By default, NVIDIA’s light mode is used, which needs up to 20 percent less GPU time per generated frame (at 1080p and 1440p).

HelixSR 2.0.0 brings DLSS frame generation back, faster, in one DLL.

  • Frame generation and upscaling now work through a single FidelityFX DLL instead of separate modules.
  • Frame generation uses NVIDIA’s light mode (DLSS frame generation 310.9.16) unless you choose the full mode.
  • 20 percent less GPU time per generated frame at 1080p and 1440p and about 11 percent less at 4K.
  • Faster upscaling at high render resolutions with network optimization.
  • Frame generation shaders built for shader model 6.6, with additional builds for GPUs lacking native 16-bit math.
  • Upscaling for non-DirectX 12 games (DirectX 11 and Vulkan) available through HelixSR Scaler.
  • Frame generation memory is freed when disabled; light mode keeps resources in video memory.

Fixes: memory handling, descriptor reuse, wave size optimization and setup installation. The uninstaller has been restored, and shader compilation now uses all available CPU threads.
