FNA: version 26.10 released

FNA has been released in version 26.10.

FNA is an open-source reimplementation of XNA4 that aims to provide a fully accurate XNA4 runtime for the desktop - many game ports to Linux and macOS are built on it.

This update adds support for “Big Button” controllers along with updated FNA3D and FAudio dependencies. It also fixes several regressions from the last two releases and includes a number of internal accuracy and optimization fixes.

New Features:

  • Update to FNA3D 26.10
  • Update to FAudio 26.10
  • Added support for the “Big Button” controller

Fixes:

  • Some regression fixes for the last two releases:
    • DynamicSoundEffectInstance.IsLooped can be set without throwing
    • Typo fix in Rectangle.Intersect
  • Some more fixes on top of the last two releases:
    • Exception accuracy fixes for various Graphics classes, particularly GraphicsDevice
    • Fixed a number of IDisposable-related inaccuracies for GraphicsResource and its subclasses
    • Fixed some classes not being marked as sealed and/or serializable
    • SoundEffect: Handle float edge cases for DistanceScale
    • GraphicsAdapter: UseNullDevice/UseReferenceDevice should be static
    • Fixed some edge cases for BoundingFrustum.Intersects, Plane.Normalize
    • Internal use of float epsilon is now based on C FLT_EPSILON instead of C# float.Epsilon or machine-specific epsilon
    • SaveAsJpeg default quality should now match XNA/WIC (as far as we can tell)
  • Minor optimizations across the tree
    • Shrunk some of the lengthier boolean checks
    • Removed some redundant zero-initialization
    • Inlined an internal function that was only being used by BoundingFrustum.Intersects
    • Cleaned up some areas where out variable properties were getting read repeatedly
    • Model classes internally use regular arrays instead of Lists
