Graphics cards suggestions
I've been quite happy with my AMD RX 590, and its still going strong, but I'm looking to get another graphics card to set up another gaming PC. Normally I'd just buy whatever AMD card is in my budget, but so much has changed since I was last shopping (2018) and I've run into some known issues that I would have avoided, such as the audio popping bug on the 5500 series cards.
I am pretty flexible on budget, but I'd like to spend less than $300. I run Arch Linux, if that matters, and would be happy with a mild upgrade from the 590, as it still plays everything I want at 1080p/60fps. What suggestions do you have? Any specific cards to avoid?
EDIT: It sounds like the 6000 series might be the best balance point. I'm also curious how the RX 580 GTS XXX Edition would stack up against my old RX 590, since I could buy two of them for the price of one of the other cards. Looking for benchmarks now but I don't remember the specific model specs of my 590.

Juno : New Origins works better on Waydroid than on Proton (if you are only in old Intel HD iGPU)
This game works better while on waydroid and on old Intel Integrated graphics, the performance is similar to windows itself
proton wont run this game, i also used bottles and added its dependencies, still not working
but at least the android app works like platinum (actually equally in native performance) on waydroid (it has x86_64 native support!)
https://reddit.com/link/1cn6s4x/video/0lul87tlv7zc1/player
stable like how i played this on windows
also idk how to label this (emulation? or native?? (native because its not really running on vm, its just using binders but pls correct this if wrong)

Running Fedora 40 KDE - Steam acting odd
I've tried both rpm and flatpak installations with flatpak being the better of the two. However, Steam quits opening the store front after a while and the only thing that works is the Friends panel. I used Fedora 38 or 39 (can't recall which) last year and didn't have any of these issues. I started a game download yesterday, but paused it when I put my PC to sleep. Since waking, Steam runs, but won't open anything but Friends panel.
Any idea what's going on here? TIA!
EDIT: So running Big Picture Mode seems to fix this for whatever reason.

A roguelike tower defense game on Linux I've been solo working on for a year has its prologue out now. Let's check it out.
Awesome GZDoom shooter Selaco will delist the demo (but you can still get it)
The Machine Age DLC for Stellaris out now along with free Andromeda update
Linux VR gaming, here it comes
SteamVR:
Fixed a bug where compatibility mode would fail for certain controller / HMD combinations and legacy input titles.
This release has an experimental feature allowing overlays to use controller simulation in bindings.
Disabled AMD Wireless VR driver by default. You can reenable it under startup/shutdown manage addons. This is a wireless driver installed by the AMD GPU driver that can interfere with some new, asynchronous paths in SteamVR.
Detect when AMD drivers were installed, but no AMD card is present, preventing "Error 309" and other crashes when loading LiquidVR.
Fixed some localization issues in the binding UI.
Fixing missing haptic component in some vive tracker profiles.
Fixing some scenarios where the menu button didn't work on HTC wrist trackers.
Add ability for Vive tracker haptic pogo pins to be bound.
Steam Link:
Steam VR 2.5 release corresponds to Steam Link client version 2.0.8.748
Improved prediction for increased lateral tracking stability.
Fix initialization issue causing connection failure. Requires client and server to both be updated.
Fix issue causing persistent failure when headset goes into standby and returns.
Fix deadlock on host when USB devices are inserted or removed.
Resolved two client crashes.
Fix an issue with video encoder initialization on certain AMD integrated GPUs.
OpenXR:
Fix Vive tracker menu pogo pin not being mapped correctly for OpenXR apps.
Linux:
Add support for direct mode drivers (IVRDriverDirectModeComponent) on Linux.
Improved launch scripts and log capture for bug reports.
Fixed random colors appearing at the periphery of the right eye's viewable area.
Fixed SteamVR Home launch script.
Fixed an SDL compatibility problem on Fedora.

I managed to actually run Skyrim on Linux (NixOS)!! I was actually mindblown how (relatively) good it ran, almost no difference compared to when I ran it in Windows 10!
SPTarkov stuttering
Just coming by to ask if you guys who have tried playing SPTarkov on Linux have also experienced stutters? The game seems to be running fine, but randomly every a couple of seconds I get lag spikes that drop the FPS by 10-20, which makes the game really unpleasant to play.
This is not a specs issue probably, becuase I run the game smoothly (60-90 fps without stutters on the more optimized maps, fuck Streets lol) on windows.
Wondering if there can be anything done to fix this, as I really would prefer to play the game on Linux.
