Rust (game) recent update now requires EAC?
Anyone else experiencing this? I am unable to launch Rust after the latest update. It won't even get past the splash screen. Just says I lack required EAC. Not trying to join a server just trying to launch the game.

Deadlock Keeps Crashing intermittently - VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST Message
Hello,
I've recently been having issues with frequent crashes when running Deadlock on Linux. Originally I was on Mint 22.2, but switched over to Bazzite (KDE) in the past week for more dedicated Intel Arc support built in. Across both distros I've had the same problem where the game will crash with the "VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST" error message. From my understanding, it has something to do with my GPU hitting a certain point where it stops responding, but have been unable to pinpoint a specific or consistent root cause. This is the only game that I've noticed it giving me such a specific message, and I've internally tried different Proton layers (Experimental/GE/etc) as well as swapping between DX11 or Vulkan.
Any assistance with troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if there's any other information I can provide that would be helpful.
Computer Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
ASUS ROG STRIX B650e-i ITX Motherboard
32GB DDR5
GPU: Intel Arc B580
Bazzite (KDE)

Steam, Streaming and Linux Mint
Hey yall,
I am new to streaming and Linux mint. When I first played games like L4D it ran fine and later on became super laggy.
I downloaded Proton GE and got it to run fine. What I run into now is when I try to use OBS to stream the game will play for 15-25 minutes then freeze and I have to force it to close.
I am on a gaming laptop (ROG Zephyrus G14 2021, 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HS CPU and GeForce RTX™ 3060 GPU) and I know I don't have the full power of a desktop. If any of yall have any info on how to configure OBS or Stream for better game play I would greatly appreciated!

My friends and I made a 90’s cereal commercial for a weird little CD-ROM-style game I made
What are the files where gaming on Linux is still less than windows
for me as a console gamer when I wanted to play for the first time on Linux I had an issue with the controller, and I still do, and it's whenever I want to play I need to put the controller in pairing mode and connect to it each time like it's the first time, instead of just clicking on the turn on button, or I have to play with it plugged in.

The RPCS3 emulator brings many improvements for handhelds: PS3 games can now be added to Steam, more settings modifiable on-the-fly, new in-game menu
How to run Forspoken bought from Epic Games on Linux
This guide is for people who want to play the game but tried to run it and it doesn't work. I spent year and a half trying to make it work so bear with me.
Note 1: the game cannot run with more than 30-40 FPS no matter what you do or how powerful your computer is
Note 2: If you have epilepsy don't try to play this game. It will trigger your epilepsy.
Note 3: You must use AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation which makes the image quality frequently very bad.
- Start ProtonPlus or ProtonUp or whather tool you use to install Proton-GE
- Install version GE-Proton9-1
- Install the game via Heroic Launcher (I ran it there but use whatever you want)
Open the game settings in Heroic and make the following changes:
- Change the wine version to GE-Proton9-1
- Go to the Other page and mark Use Steam Runtime
- Go to Advanced page and add the following environment variables: SteamDeck = 1 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL = 12_2 VKD3D_CONFIG = dxr RADV_PERFTEST = rt
- Close that dialog
Start the game
Maybe it will show your driver is outdated. Just press OK
After launch there will be a File error dialog. DO NOT PRESS the OK button. Instead move the window on the side to the edge of the screen where it won't bother you.
After that move your mouse cursor inside the game and just click once
There will be insane flickering. That's normal and there is a way to fix it.
When you reach the main menu go to the Settings
Switch to Graphics screen
Change Image Quality Presets to Custom
Enable AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. Doesn't matter which option is selected
Change the AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation to On. This will fix the flickering.
Change any other settings if you want but DON'T change Model Memory and Texture Memory
Return to the main menu and enjoy the game

Machiavelli the Prince Enhanced for Linux Now on Steam and GOG
Any way to configure ASUS gaming mouse in Linux?
I have seen old threads about ROG Armoury Crate, but results were mostly support for ASUS laptop systems.
I have installed OpenRGB and can control lighting of my mouse now. But all the other settings, like DPI steps, scan rate, angle snapping and such, can I set them in Linux, too, or do I need a Windows installation for that?

Nvidia GeForce 940mx drivers on arch
I recently received a laptop as gift that is better than the craptop that I had so I transferred my sad and hhd to the new PC, had some scaling issues but I later got them fixed.
it has an i5 7th, 8gb ram, an hd620 and a GeForce 940mx.
when running vulkaninfo | grep deviceName it outputs the integrated card and the dedicated gpu but when running nvidia-smi it tells me that it can't communicate with the Nvidia drivers
I was told to install the 580dkms drivers from the aur but when running vulkaninfo it no longer detects the gpu and when running nvidia-smi it still doesn't detect anything.
I'm quite new to this entire driver fiasco as I had a craptop with an hd520 on it so I'm clueless.
can you guys help and guide me through it I got some games in the backlog unplayed waiting for a worthy PC lol.
thanks!!

Crimson Desert on a Rtx 5090
Hello all, Today I swapped my 4090 to a 5090 and cannot load into any Crimson Desert save file I have. It always fails a split second after the loading animation starts. I was able to play on my 4090 without any hiccups mostly.
I already tried to use different Proton versions, also CachyOS with the fixes for this game. Also tried different graphical settings as launching the game into the main menu always works fine. The game also does never crash, but the image freezes and the music keeps playing, but just never progresses.
I'm on Bazzite current version Ryzen 7800x3d Rtx 5090 1200watt power supply.
Other games like Resident Evil Requiem also run without any issue.
Any idea what else I could try?
