New Re engine games with Intel Arc Alchemist

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 5:38am

From a Niche inside a Niche, anybody have an intel arc Alchemist? Do MH Wilds (after Tu3) and the new MH Stories 3 plays fine for you?

Because no matter if using the i195 or xe driver, or any proton. These games open fine but the moment they need to load something they freeze.

In both if a put new game, it also freezes but i can hear music and cutscene audio being played just fine. Is it just me?

For specs Ryzen 5600 | Intel Arc a750 | 32gb DDR4 | Nvme (BTRFS)SSD+HDD(EXT4)

CachyOS (Normal and RC) Mesa 25 and 26.1-git

Need help with mesa bug reports

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 5:28am

Hi, I submitted 2 bug reports at the mesa repo and I need help to get additional info needed for the bug reports.

1st issue is this. (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/9403). This issue is for Feral Interactive native Linux port of Dirt Rally (1) with OpenGL. Basically shows that the higher shader setting, the shader look messed up for terascale GPUs. I tested it on terascale 2 GPU and terascale 3 GPU and it is the same issue. Haven't tested it on terascale 1 though. I have been trying to get the apitrace for the native Linux OpenGL version. However, it seems whatever DRM that feral use doesn't allow it. This issue has been open since 2023 so it would be nice to be able to close it.

2nd issue with this (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/14429). It is an issue for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA where there is a large frame drop every time a text is rendered. I have also detected the same issue for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox and Ys: Memories of Celceta. Potentially also affect the Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure. This issue also only affect Meteor Lake iGPU with i915 kernel driver. Other GPU I have tested from Radeon 780M, RX 6600 XT, Skylake iGPU and RTX 4070 Super does not show same behavior. It is also not an issue with Meteor Lake GPU if Xe kernel driver is used or WineD3D with OpenGL is used. According to u/-YoRHa2B- (doitsujin or DXVK creator), this is a game issue (https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/5368). However, for some reason it only shows weird behavior in Meteor Lake iGPU with i915 kernel driver. Haven't ask u/DuranteA (He ports most of Falcom game to PC) if he can help since it is a game issue ultimately, but it also indicates an issue with ANV driver. Honestly, I already provided API trace for the game, and I just wanted to get more attention to the issue. Alternatively, how would I, with minimal c knowledge, fix this bug myself? Like, how do I know which part of ANV code that cause an issue? Is this fixable in mesa, or you have to fix it in i915 kernel driver since this is not an issue with Xe kernel driver.

Low GPU usage without hitting thermal or power limits or CPU bottleneck

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 5:04am

HW - i5 11400 - RX 9060xt 16 GB - 16 GB 3200 MHz

FW/SW - Kernel 6.18.9-200.fc43.x86_64 - Fedora 43 Gnome - Mesa 25.3.5 - Proton GE 10-32 - MangoHud v0.8.2

As u can see GPU is well below thermal and power limits, CPU doesn't seem to be a bottleneck, but GPU utilisation and framerate are quite low.
When there aren't many things to render (eg: building interiors or empty maps), GPU usage climbs to near 100%, power draw goes to 180-182 W, and framerate goes up. Otherwise, it's like what's in the screenshot. I can't figure out where the bottleneck is.

Screenshot is from Wuthering Waves, but the same behaviour can be seen in other games like Helldivers, No Man's Sky, Where Winds Meet etc. Only game I've seen behave differently is Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, where GPU is almost always at 100% and framerate hovers around 80 fps nealy all the time. No upscaling or frame gen is used.

Any chances for League of Legends?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 3:39am

Currently LoL is the only game keeping me on the shitty OS and I just want to get rid off it. I recently heard about Barrier which might be an option but I'm not sure about the delays, so I'm delaying to test it out. It's completely dysfunctional on Linux due to Vanguard stuff, soooo... has anyone here had any success since Vanguard?

Performance Loss On Fedora KDE Plasma

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 2:48am

I recently made the jump from Windows to Fedora. It's been great so far, but I'm noticing like a 15-20% FPS drop in cyberpunk 2077. In Windows running with path tracing on I would hit 52 FPS, in Fedora I'm hitting 46. Like for like on settings, using Proton-GE 10-32 on the native version of Steam with the FSR 4 tag enabled, my gpu is a 9070 XT. Is there something like, super obvious I'm missing that's causing me to lose performance?

8BitDo controllers & Mint

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 18 Feb 2026 - 1:07am

I'm running Mint 22.2 (kernel 6.17) and I have 2 8BitDo controllers; an SN30 Pro, and an SN30 Pro+.

I've tried pairing them in both Xbox (start+X) mode and Switch (start+Y) mode. They pair just fine and are recognized correctly in the Bluetooth manager, but I'm receiving no input from them. According to the device info tab, they appear to be paired but not connected, even though it says they are connected. Connecting with a USB cable yields the same result. I've tried to connect via DInput mode (start+B) and it shows paired AND connected, but still receiving no input at all from the controllers, even with the usb plugged in.

I do have xpadneo installed as well.

Can't install mods for Fallout New Vegas on Linux Mint

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 11:57pm

Is anyone here still using rockerbacon's MO2 installer? I've tried using it and everything went well (for the installation) but for some reason I'm getting an error message whenever I try to install a mod saying "Path does not exist". Is there a fix to It? Have I done something wrong? Or is there a better/updated way to mod New Vegas on Linux?

Проблема с запуском русификатора для Wuthering Waves

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 11:07pm

STEAMDECK=1 %command%

Может кто сможет помочь? Будут очень вам благодарен!

I need advice.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 10:53pm

I am an ex-Windows user and a while ago I switched to Linux (I don't regret it), the thing is that I want to start playing games on Steam and other platforms like Blizzard, the thing is that I am not sure how optimized Linux is for video games (I use Linux Mint), I would like to know if there is an operating system based on Linux or an application to be able to play without problems.

EAC is coming to Rocket League; Linux will still be supported according to official announcement

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 10:32pm

I have a feeling the real reason they're doing this is to block bakkesmod's customization options, since it lets you use any customization for free (although its only locally so other players can't see it). Epic is very protective of their microtransactions, as they removed player-to-player trading not long ago.

Lets also hope that Linux support isn't quietly removed after all the good PR of them keeping it.

Low FPS on Diablo 4 Arch Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 9:48pm

Hey all, I own the game on battle.net and tried via Lutris and via Steam, with default runner and with proton GE (so 4 setups in total) and it's always the same: If I set everything to low end and FSR to ugly as hell, I get like 45 FPS. If I set everything to Max, I get around 37 FPS.

5800X3D, 32GB RAM, 6800XT 16GB

And it's not the VRAM leak either. For one I implemented the .conf fix, also the performance is that bad right from the start up.

Anyone any ideas? Considering buying the game via Steam, but there is no logical reason why it would run better (since I already have it run via Steam as described above, is there?). Is this just the way it is? Under Windows I had 90+ FPS with my setup, but Microsoft can fuck off so that's not an option.

Thanks for helping!

Mewgenics Performance terrible in House

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 17 Feb 2026 - 9:48pm

Hi, bought Mewgenics today bc I thought it looks fun.

But I have a little problem, the game run super smooth, except when I’m in the house, in there it is a slideshow with maybe 10 frames per second.

Does anyone have an idea why it might be like this?
