Hey everyone!

I've been running Wreckfest dedicated servers on Linux for a while and got tired of managing everything through the terminal so I built a small GUI tool to make it easier.

It's called Wreckfest Server Manager and it lets you start, stop and monitor your Wreckfest 1 and Wreckfest 2 dedicated servers through a simple graphical interface. You can pick your server scripts via a file dialog, check port status and do an emergency shutdown if things go sideways.

I also included ready-to-use sample scripts for both Wreckfest 1 and Wreckfest 2 you can find them directly in the repository files. Just set your server path at the top and you're good to go.

It comes as an AppImage so there's nothing to install just download, make it executable and run it.

Still early days (alpha), so things might not be perfect yet but it works well on my setup. Would love to hear if anyone else finds it useful or runs into issues!

Hey guys, I run World of Warcraft through the Faugus launcher on Pop!_OS. Everything works fine, except that I can't run WoW at 1440p on my 1440p monitor. The maximum I can select is 1080p.

Do you have any advice on how to fix this?

Hey, everyone! So far i'm having relatively little issues with gaming on cachyOS, and as far as other everyday usage for me, it was always good enough to be my daily driver, especially as i started learning konsole/terminal. However I'm having serious frustrations with piper. I cannot find a way to program keys to anything other than predefined by the program functions(cycle resolution, function shift, etc) without using the set up a macro option. Fine-i guess. But here's the issues, it automatically adds ctrl then alt then ctrl, and back and forth every time i use that button-seemingly. Well and fine i guess except the game i use this mouse for( logitech g502 hero) guild wars two- stops recognizing the input after say even just one press. Am i doing something wrong? Is there an alternative? This is quite frustrating because basically it's telling me that every time i want to use this mouse i have to re set the key binds for one. I'm also having issues with it keeping a set resolution other than minimum. Oh and it doesn't want to remember me setting resolution down to the middle button pushed to the left setting. It remembers the to the right setting but i set it, close the program even if just after a reboot/shut down and it disappears. No function set. I know that linux is janky but this is kind of ridiculous in 2026. I really want to give up windows completely and would appreciate it if anyone could give me suggestions, etc. Thank you and have a blessed one!

Hey, I distro swapped for a while but I decided to stick with fedora for now. But I encountered a problem similar to something I encountered on ZorinOS. In Overwatch whenever I am using my dedicated gpu the game works for 2-3 minutes and then everything freezes. While trying to fix this I found that while using nvidia-smi in the terminal it said that my Nvidia rtx 3050ti is off. Now I tried fixing things with ChatGpt but to no end the same result over and over again. Right now I play on my integrated GPU but its kinda laggy. So I decided to write a post here

AMD Ryzen 7 6800H
Nvidia RTX 3050 ti
16 gb ram

hello

so I've a 4k 60hz tv for my use

recently i got a free 1080p 75hz monitor and well the smoothness is obvious for me and i wanted to use it as a second monitor for when i want to get back to online gaming and use the 4k monitor for offline games

i wanted to know if x11 kde or gnome supports it? i don't want to use wayland and I've an amd gpu

i never had 2 monitors before, so can i just select my second monitor in the game settings to use it and will it use the 75hz or will it lock to 60??

I wanted to Play "For Honor" on Linux Pop_OS!

I have this game on Ubisoft connect, so i installed Lutris via the Cosmic Store to start the Launcher. I installed the game flawlessly but if i want to start it the error message seen on screen appears (i'm not able to move the windows for some reason but the system works fine otherwise).

I didn't find any easy solutions online and i'm very new to Linux. Is there an easy fix?

Hi, everybody, I'm having a weird issue while trying to change screen resolution in Terraria. After every launch game defaults to a 4k resolution even though my laptop has a 1920x1080 screen. After changing to a full hd resolution my cursor cannot go over the invisible box, somehow it sees the change to a full hd but the game itself does not. I'm using Fedora 43 Workstation edition and what's even more interesting, while distrohopping and using kde edition it works perfectly fine and in both cases I use flatpak version of Steam.

I have a thinkpad x1 carbon gen 8, so no dedicated graphics card. And I couldn't find anyone with the same issue online.

What I tried and it did not help:
- setting launch options to -w 1920 -h 1080,

- changing Terraria's config file and setting the resolution that way,

- forcing proton version to experimental and then applying launch options.

I have Arch on my desktop, here are the specs:

Ryzen 5 5600X
EVGA RTX 3060 12gb
32gb ram

Arch KDE wayland

I am having issues with lower than expected frame rates in games, screen tearing in browsers & menus, and after switching to X11 I am also getting what feels like laggy performance. Nothing feels as snappy as it was on Wayland.

The woman has an AMD Radeon 6600 and I am well aware that AMD works a lot better than Nvidia on Linux. In game I only aim for 1080p 60fps so I don't want or need ray tracing and DLSS and what not, and the most demanding games I play are Cyberpunk, Red Dead 2, and a little bit of MS Flight sim 20th anniversary. Would it be more beneficial for me to see if she fancies swapping or should I keep with what I have got? I know she would benefit from DLSS in a few of the games she plays, and I have asked her already if she would want to and she is fine with it, I just want to make sure this is a good deal for both of us before doing the swap.

Before anyone asks "Why not play the Steam version?": The Steam version isn't great for modding and I don't have the Game on Steam and I can't buy it because they delisted it and I won't pay 60€ or however it is to buy the "DeFiNitIvE eDiTiOn"

I want to run the original CD Rom copy through Lutris but idk how. I already got everything patched and everything how it should be, I just don't know how to add the Game to Lutris. I only see an "Install a Windows game through Wine" option or something similar. But the Game is already unpackaged and installed. I just have to run it.

I am not new to Linux, but I never used Lutris in any way shape or form.

EDIT: I got it working through Heroic, was way easier than dealing with Lutris. Thanks!

Hey people, maybe someone can help me with this ? I have strange texture glitches in MHW.
They don't seem to be related to the Proton commands I use.

When I am directly looking at the sand....no glitches and normals GPU usage. As soon as these glitches appear, the GPU usage rises, massively. Can anybody help me with that ?

So my friends and I play on a realm together on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, but as I switched to Zorin OS, I realized I couldn't play anymore. I tried qemu with GPU passthrough, but that got really complicated quickly. Then I tried VMWare, because I have used it before. In my head, I thought it would be awful, because my previous interactions with VMWare weren't very good with performance, but this time, it ran nearly as smooth as my PC natively.

So I've been having this issue with only minecraft that whenever I use any custom keyboard shotcut, the whole window just gets completely minimized.

For example I have a mute shortcut which executes this command

pactl set-source-mute rnnoise_source 1

When I use the assigned key the window minimizes, this issue is not present in the newer versions (any version that uses LWJGL 3), Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

I'm Using Debain Trixie (13.3) with XFCE, X11 desktop environment
